Can I use any kind of ink jet paper or do it have to have to be the Epson brand

What type of black ink is suppled with the ET-4850 - i.e. pigment ink or photo black ink? Also,is it true/fact one needs to choose to use only pigment black or photo black ink from the start with the EcoTank printers otherwise there may be problems?
