The HERO7 Silver is roughly 2 3/8" wise, 1 3/4" tall, and about 1" deep. It's very easy to use, so yes, almost anyone should be able to use it to get great photos and videos, whether the action is moving or still. It is an action camera, so it is designed to take great motion shots.

With this Go pro 8 how would you watch what you record?

There is a rear screen on the HERO8 Black where you can see what you're recording as you record it, or you can play back photos and videos you've already recorded and see them on that same screen. And, of course, you can share the content you record to your smartphone or move the files to your computer or other device and play or share them just as you would any other image of video files.

Is this waterproof too?

There's nothing electric in this mount, so using it underwater should not cause any damage to it. One thing to note though is that this mount will not add any buoyancy to your GoPro setup, so if you want to use it in the water, be sure to secure it as it will likely sink if not being held.
