There is not an on-screen time stamp feature in GoPro cameras, but if you need one, you can add one in using the new GoPro Labs features. See the GoPro website for more details on that program. The HERO8 Black has a zoom function that you can set for photos and videos prior to recording.

Is the battery the same as th Go Pro 4?

No, the HERO9 Black uses a new type of battery. Batteries from any previous models will not work in the HERO9 Black.

Are all the accessories that have been purchased for his Hero 7 compatible with the Hero9?

Most accessories that work with the HERO7 models should work with the HERO9 Black. A couple of exceptions would be any dive housings since the HERO7 and HERO9 are different sizes, and the Smart Remote, which is not compatible with the HERO9 Black. However, nearly all mounts and other accessories should work fine.

Can this be used with either the head or chest mount ?

When used with the Floaty, the GoPro can definitely connect to those mounts, but the range of movement may be limited some so you can't angle the camera exactly as you'd like. If that's the case, there are extension arms and quick-release mounts that raise the GoPro further off of the mount that should give you more room to make adjustments.

You can definitely use this for everyday recording. It works great on land or on or underwater (or even in the air).

GoPro does not specify a minimum temperature, but GoPro cameras have been known to operate in extremely cold temperatures, so ice fishing should not be an issue.

Battery life depends on a few factors, but particularly the resolution and frame rate you use. With the HERO8 Black, a full battery should give between 45 minutes and 81 minutes of recording time depending on the settings. For longer recordings, you could swap in a second battery or even hook up external power to the GoPro.

How far away will the remote access work? Does it need to be on wifi??

The GoPro App's range is between 35-50 feet depending on the wireless interference in your area. If you're using the Smart Remote, the range with that device is up to 600 feet.
