HW-S60B is a 5.0 Channel Soundbar with 200W of total power, the ability to connect using Wi-Fi and connect to the SmartThings App. The HW-S60B also has Alexa built-in, the ability to play Dolby Atmos content and Samsung's Active Voice Amplifier feature

The HW-S50B is a 3.0 Channel Soundbar with 140W of total power, it cannot be connected using Wi-Fi or SmartThings. The HW-S50B Soundbar cannot use Alexa, is not Dolby Atmos compatible and doesn't feature Samsung's Active Voice Amplifier feature.

If I hook up a sound bar to my tv, will the sound only come out of the sound bar and not the speaker on the back of my tv?

Does this power on and off with a dorectv remote rc73?

Other manufacturer’s remotes may have to be enabled on your soundbar.

Follow these instructions to be able to enable this feature. First, turn Off the Soundbar. Once powered off, push up and hold the WOOFER button for 5 seconds. Each time you push the WOOFER button up and hold it for 5 seconds, the mode switches in the following order: “OFF-TV REMOTE” (Default mode), “SAMSUNG-TV REMOTE”, “ALL-TV REMOTE”. Please also make sure your speaker settings on the TV are set to External Speaker.

I'm hooked up via cord yet no screen info and tge remote does not control the sound. I don't want it if the only way to control sound is by the sound bar controls

You can control the volume and mute the soundbar using your Samsung TV's remote, or other brands TV remotes.

1) Use the TV remote to navigate to Settings, select Sound, and then select Sound Output on your Samsung TV.
2) Select your Samsung soundbar, and then select Close. Now you can use your TV remote to adjust volume and mute the soundbar. The soundbar should also turn on and off with the TV.
