Regarding your concern, The water filter and the water filter installation kit, You must purchase the water filter and the water filter
installation kit at a local hardware store for the ice maker to be used.

Our ice maker freezes up constantly. Right now we can’t even get the ice tray out or use the water. It seems that is all locked up. How do you unlock it?

Thank you for reaching out regarding your Samsung - 25.5 Cu. Ft. French Door Refrigerator with Filtered Ice Maker on how to reset the water filter. Regarding your concern, here are the steps to reset the filter light.

1. Find the Filter Reset button on the control panel if it's available. It is sometimes the secondary function of another button on the panel.

2. Once located, touch and hold the correct button for 3 seconds until the light resets.

3. The filter icon will either turn off or change back to its normal color when it's reset. This starts the 6 month timer over again.

I bought this expensive washer and dryer set. Within 18 months the diaphragm had to be replaced on the washer. The top washer broke a month after that. I got the diaphragm fixed as a "courtesy". its been two years are 4 months. Diaphragm broken again.
