Do the doors open independently? Or do they overlap and the fridge door needs to open to access the freezer?

Thanks so much for asking, sammij! For our "side by side" models (where the freezer and refrigerator sections are next to each other) the doors open independently. These models have a divider between the two sections, allowing each door to seal shut regardless if the other door is open. ^Jecca

You sure can, Angie! The upper and lower washers for this model have separate locations for the detergent used, allowing you to use different detergents in each.
