1. Does the sound bar need to be plugged in to a standard outlet? I do understand that the standalone subwoofer needs to be plugged in. 2. Is there anyway to also hang the sound bar underneath the TV when the TV is mounted on the wall with a bracket

Hi Al, the sound bar does need to be plugged in to a standard outlet. There is no way to hang the sound bar from the TV, though it does come with wall-mount brackets. I hope this helps! ^Scott

I have a good size Great Room. The majority of seating will between 10 & 15 feet from the sound bar. Would the best placement for subwoofer be in front, near the TV or in back, near the rear speakers? Also, is 'centering' the subwoofer of ANY importance?

Hi CarolinaTR, subwoofers are "omnidirectional" so there is no one placement that is perfect. Having said that, the sub will be generating higher than 80Hz bass so you will hear the sub as a distinct sound source if placed too far from the sound bar Try to keep the sub within 4 or 5 feet of the TV. Also, don't put the subwoofer in a corner, the problem being that a corner placement tends to magnify the bass, making it harder to blend with a sound bar. I hope this helps! ^Scott

My Q850T will not turn on with Samsung smart TV but if will turn off. What can I do to fix that

I purchased the QT60 Sound Bar If I connect my Sony RMT-VB201U Blue Ray to Sound Bar with HDMI will it play both audio and video through TV or will I need to connect Blue Ray directly to TV?

Hi KimballSand, You can connect it either way, though if you connect the Blu-ray to the sound bar input, then the Soundbar output to the TV, you are more likely to be able to use the advanced sound technologies encoded in many Blu-ray's. Cheers! ^Scott

Is there loss of sound quality for using Bluetooth feature vs hdmi or optical setup.

I currently have 2 rear speakers mounted on my 10' ceiling behind my couch. Could the rear speakers with this soundbar replace my existing ceiling speakers and be used with this soundbar? Also, can I get rid of my existing front left and front right?

Hi GmanHB, the rear speakers need to be wired to the wireless sending unit included in the HW-Q850 box (typically placed behind a couch, etc.), so if the wiring and mounts allow it, they can replace the speakers mounted on your ceiling. The sound bar has left and right channels, so you can play either the sound bar, or your existing system, not both at the same time which would make your existing left and right channels redundant. Does the subwoofer have Dolby Atmos sound?

Hi JanetC, A subwoofer is a loudspeaker designed to reproduce low-pitched audio frequencies known as bass and sub-bass, lower in frequency than those which can be (optimally) generated by a woofer. Dolby Atmos expands on existing surround sound systems by adding height channels, allowing sounds to be interpreted as three-dimensional objects. Subwoofers are by design non-directional, while Dolby Atmos is by design directional spatial audio. They are not incompatible, they actually work very well together, though the subwoofer does not output Dolby Atmos sound independently. Great Question! ^Scott

Can I use these rear speakers to replace the speakers I have mounted high in the wall with existing speaker wire ?

Hi KyaMac, the rear speakers need to be wired to the wireless sending unit included in the HW-Q850 box (typically placed behind a couch, etc.). It might work if you connect the speaker wires first to the speakers, then to the wireless sending unit (instead of your receiver) near your AV system. Hi R, how many watts can be a tricky question depending on how the system is used, so I’ll give you three sets of numbers. The HW-Q950T has a total maximum speaker output of 546 watts. If you are using it as most do, you will drop to the average operating consumption of 75 watts, and while in stand-by it will consume 0.9 watts.
