can this be laid down on side to bring home?
I read different answers and wondering if anyone brought their tv home laying it on side. I live 5 minutes from my BB store so it would only be on its side for 10-15 minutes at most. From everything I read and heard, no one had any issues doing this but wanted to hear from some more folks and possible Samsung if you are seeing this..
James,
When plasma panels were heavier and the weight of the panel would cause damage when pressed against the electronics, this was more of a pressing (pardon the pun) issue. Today's panels should still be handled with care, even in the protective boxes and packaging.
While we recommend transporting it upright when the arrows on the box suggest "This Side Up", that's on purpose, and more of an order, rather than a recommendation - and is for everyone's benefit. That said, I've seen some retailers store or stack the panels on the floor (not in a moving car), and that has little effect. Not recommended, but that's sometimes what happens.
Being careful, treating the electronics with care and following the shipping instructions on the box is recommended.
