safe?

I've never had or used a wireless connection. Is it safe to use free wifi to access ebay, email, Paypal, bank accounts, etc. using my sign-in & password?

For most applications - and even open Wi-Fi areas - it would be difficult to determine the risk for any given network.

That said, for bill pay, Paypal and accounts where security is paramount, use the Secure HyperText Transfer Protocol, which adds an "s" after the "http" in the web address. Some email sites and other sites will also offer a secure part of the website for transmitting sensitive data like passwords.

For instance, if you go to PayPal, they will redirect you automatically to:
https://www.paypal.com/home

Notice the "s" after the http? That means that they've added additional encryption so that prying eyes would find it extremely difficult to break. And most banking sites, credit card sites and other financial sites will add a measure of security to their websites so that when you're out in public using a secure connection, you can do so safely.

So look for the "s" before sending that super sensitive information, and you should be just fine. If you have other questions about security, the Best Buy sales staff would be more than happy to show you how to protect your privacy using the settings in the Tablet's settings menu.

map program available?

I have MS Streets & Trips on my PC. Is there a comparable map program or app that I can download to The Galaxy Tab 2? I want a program where I can look up maps and get directions without a wifi connection if needed.

Google includes a Maps App already, and with the GPS feature, allows you to use the mapping program "on the go". You can type in addresses, destinations and there are other features that will get you to your destination.

There are also other map programs available in the Google Play Store.

If you will be going long distances, it may be advisable to get a car charger so that your tablet stays fully charged for your travels.

facebook games?

Can you play facebook games on the Galaxy Tab 8 or 10? I tried Kindle and it did not work....

Many of the Apps have Android-compatible downloadable Apps that allow you to link your game play to your Facebook game's accounts.

Not all games will be playable on the Tablet, however many of the popular ones have companion programs so you can "game on the go". The game's maker will have to provide an Android compatible version of the game if it's not playable directly online using the browser.

What is warranty covered?

Bought this tv 13 months ago and now went out while watching, will not turn back on and there is no lights lit. Tv just flickers when you unplug and plug it in again. I am not sure what to do next paid $599 last year on sale, If you says its more than $200 to fix I will just trash it. Tried 2 different outlets and still nothing from tv, no response from remote or tv power button, and no red led lit on tv anymore. Please advise!

If you haven't already, log onto the Samsung.com U.S. website and register the television online. Doing so will give you an additional 3 months of warranty, and if you bought the TV new, it would have come with 12 months of warranty coverage. Registering will give you an additional 3 months.

After you register, call the Samsung customer service center at 800-SAMSUNG, mention that you registered your model and ask if they could cover a repair for your television.

USING AUDIO OUT

Is there a setting to turn on the audio out jacks on the back? I haven't been able to utilize these jacks

The jackpack on the rear of the UN29F4000 allows for a RGB+RW component input - the Red/Blue/Green are the inputs for video, and the Red/White RCA are for the audio inputs.

There is a headphone jack that you can use to send the audio to a separate receiver, however, it's not a fixed input - meaning that you'll control the volume using a combination of the TV's volume and your audio receiver's volume.

Optimum IO Remote and Samsung Sound Bar

My Optimum IO remote turns my Samsung F7100 TV on and off and allows me to control the sound up and down. Will this remote allow me to also allow me to control the HWF450 soundbar?

That would be determined if Optimum Remotes have the new code banks installed, or available (if it's able to update with new code banks).

It'd be best to check with them, since we don't manage which models are supported by any remote company - they would be best able to answer which TV and Sound Bar models they support.

What are the off air capabilities of this unit and is a remote control included?
