Will Windows Vista 32 bit recognized this Drive?
I read somewhere that Windwos Vista 32 bit only recognizes 2 tb drives. Is that correct or will this 4 tb drive work?
Thanks
Thanks for your question. The short answer is no, Windows Vista 32-bit will not recognize this 5TB internal hard drive. The long answer is if you fully use the HDD 3TB or more capacity, the HDD have to be created as GPT disk. GPT disk was supported from Windows XP 64bit.
(XP 32 bit does not support GPT disk, only support MBR disk.) However, there is a restriction that it cannot be used as boot disk on Windows XP 64bit,Vista 32bit and Windows 7 32bit. So, if you use 4TB/5TB HDD as data disk, the HDD can be used on Windows Vista. However, if you use 4TB/5TB HDD as boot disk, 64bit OS of Windows Vista/7 and UEFI mode have to be used.
