I have purchased Breville smart oven air fryer model BOV86OBSS1B. The heating elements are not protected. Am I suppose to let stuff like oil, crumbs, flour drip on heating elements?

When cooking fatty food (e.g. chicken wings) we recommend using the grilling rack (placed in the roasting pan) instead of the air fry basket to prevent the oil dripping. Discard excess oil in between the batches.
