How do I make the keyboard switch colors on its own?

I just got this pc and I am trying to connect it to my monitor and there is no signal. I am using hdmi cable. do you know why?

If you are connecting it to the motherboard's integrated graphics ports that will not work as they are automatically disabled when a graphics card in installed in the PC's motherboard.
