how do you get the backlit keyboard to work, it shows it in the specs but i have not been able to access it

Hold down the FN key then tap the spacebar. One to turn on the backlighting, twice to increase the light intensity and three times to turn off the backlighting.

is windows defender built in to this computer? and if I switch the computer out of windows 10 in s mode to windows home, will the computer still maintain windows defender?

Yes. Windows Defender is included with both versions of Windows 10 - S-Mode and Home. To use, uninstall the trial version of McAfee Virus Protection, then turn on Windows defender. does the laptop have a headphone plug in port

No. But there is an included USB-c to 3.5mm adapter that can be used with the one USB-c port on the Duet Chromebook to be able to connect a headset or compatible external speakers.

This monitor has a port for a power cord right so I could plug in my Xbox?
