If I'm not satisfied with the base ROM of 256 SSD, will I be able to buy a different hard drive (preferably a large HDD) and upgrade it? Or is it only compatible with SSD?

how can I get this laptop without it in S mode? My grandaughter needs to use zoom and a few other apps for elementary school this year and you can't get the ones she needs through microsoft. Can I buy this laptop without it in s mode????

The Lenovo IdeaPad 3 14 Laptop model number 81W0009DUS, comes from the factory with Windows 10 S-Mode. You can easily switch from S-Mode to Windows 10 Home Operating System. There is a 30-day trial of Microsoft Office 365 included as part of the Windows 10 operating system. In order to keep the program active after the trial period, you will need to purchase a product key. You will not need to download any additional software.

Can the memory be upgraded on this system?

This model is not user upgradable. A certified technician must do all of the work, so as to not void the warranty. There is 4GB of RAM soldered to the motherboard. There is an additional RAM memory slot that can support a maximum of 8GB RAM, for a system total of 12GB. We recommend you consult your certified technician about your RAM memory upgrade options. Regarding storage memory, check with your certified technician about your storage memory upgrade options.

Not an internal device, there is no optical drive capability within this model. You can use an external USB-based Windows 10 compatible Blu-Ray Player with this laptop.
