You do not need to use the fingerprint reader. You will be asked by Windows 10 what type of password you want to use. If you do not input a fingerprint the reader will not activate.

I have installed my own old copy of Microsoft Office, because I do not want to activate and pay for the new copy pre-installed by Best Buy. the old and the new versions of MS Office may be in conflict. How can I uninstall the Best Buy version? Thank you

Just use the 25-digit Product Activation Code that came with your copy of Microsoft Office to activate the software already installed on the computer.
