If I don’t want to purchase Office 365 but instead want to purchase MS Word separately, can that be done? If so, would the Word software install locally on the hardrive?
There is a 30-day trial of Microsoft Office 365 included as part of the Windows 10 operating system. In order to keep the program active after the trial period, you will need to purchase a product key. You will not need to download any additional software. We recommend you contact Microsoft about purchasing just Word and what the cost would be.

Could you simplify the explanation a little more please - about the reasons why I would prefer the 64-bit OS instead of the standard Windows 10 S-Mode? I’m not understanding that at all. Also, if I want the 64-bit OS, how and when do I do that selection?
Windows 10 S-Mode provides added security by only allowing APPs available ( and therefore certified by Microsoft) at the Microsoft Store. So if you use 3rd party software that is not available at the Microsoft Store, you will want to switch out of S-Mode to be able to use your software. If you don't need the added security or you need to install APPs not available at the Microsoft Store, you can switch to standard Windows 10 Home 64-bit Operating System, at no additional cost.
