There is almost 10 times the storage space on the 1TB standard drive but the performance of the 128GB solid state hard drive is up to 30% faster than a standard hard drive. This includes boot up of the system, opening files and programs. If you use relatively few installed programs on a device, you can store files on an external hard drive with the solid state drive.

I am old school..I wasn't pleased when windows movie maker was removed from the operating system...I would like to know if this laptop has a CD/DVD player and burner and if it comes with software to create/edit vid etc ?.

Model number 81DM001UUS does have a CD/DVD-RW drive built in. It does not have media creation software pre-installed, you will need to add this.
