The hinge on the Lenovo Yoga 730-15 should allow you to position the screen anywhere along the 360-degree range of the hinges and hold that position.

Does the screen ever suddenly go black and all operations cease when you are using it? That happens with my Lenovo laptop computer just about every time I use it.

Is this laptop best for use in school?

That will depend on the software programs you will be using. This is a mid-level system appropriate for many different functions. We recommend you check with the specific software publisher's web sites that you will be using, for their compatibility with Windows 10 Home 64-bit operating system and the minimum/recommended hardware requirements (Is a Graphics card required, the processor speed and the minimum required system RAM and the minimum available hard drive space) to run their programs, then compare those requirements to this system's configuration.
