Hi I'm a current online student looking to purchase another laptop that is good for college students and that also has a laser reader for dvd's and cd's?

This model does have a CD/DVD-RW drive. Whether is will meet your other computing needs depends on the programs you will need to use on the device and those program's requirements and compatibility. We recommend you check with the software publisher's web sites, for the programs you will need to be using for your school work, for their compatibility with Windows 10 Home 64-bit operating system and the minimum/recommended hardware requirements (Is a Graphics card required, the processor speed and the minimum required system RAM and the minimum available hard drive space) to run their program, then compare those requirements to this system's configuration.
