Pictures of this models are WRONG! These are from old 720, not the new 720S. 720S has NO ethernet, or HDMI, or full size sd reader.

You are correct, model number 81AC002KUS, the Lenovo IdeaPad 720s-15 does not have an ethernet port, but you can use a USB to ethernet adapter with this device to connect an ethernet cable. This model has a Thunderbolt USB-c 3.1 port that carries a video out signal. Can the batteries in these new laptops be replaced or are they hard wired & I would only be using it as a back up device knowing that it would sit for awhile without a charge so does a low/empty battery cause any risk to the Laptop or the battery itself ?

The battery within this device is not user removable. A certified technician could replace the battery if necessary. The device should not be stored with an empty battery. Charge the device before storing. With the device completely turned off, the battery should last for 60 days or more in the off position.
