I'm a grad student and am on my laptop more than I would like each day to write papers, take notes, access course materials, Netflix occasionally, etc. is this a good choice for school usage?

the wifi frequently stop so I found this soilution https://support.lenovo.com/il/en/solutions/ht502846 I did methods 1-3 method 1 work for 2-3 hours but then the problem begins again. is there another solution?
Check to be sure there is no problem with your router by trying another WiFi device. See if the problem occurs with that device. There may be networking-Wireless LAN driver updates for your specific system. Follow the link below to look for new driver updates for your specific system. You can also run diagnostics from the Lenovo site as well. As always, be sure to create a restore point on your system before you make any changes.
