My son wants a laptop to play mine craft is this a good option?

That will depend on the requirements of the specific game. We recommend you check with the game's software publisher web site for their compatibility with Windows 10 Home 64-bit operating system and the minimum/recommended hardware requirements (Is a Graphics card required, the processor speed and the minimum required system RAM and the minimum available hard drive space) to run their program, then compare those requirements to this system's configuration.

Bought this laptop for twitch streaming, question about connecting a microphone. I bought a zalman zm-mic1, simple mic for recording audio on twitch. When I plug it into the headphone jack nothing happens and it doesn't register it as a recording device.

The 3.5mm audio jack on this device is a combo jack, both headphone and microphone connectivity within the same port. Be sure the external microphone is turned on. Plug the external microphone in to the 3.5mm audio port. Click on the magnifying glass icon at the bottom left of your Windows 10 screen. Type "Microphone" within the search window. Select "Set up a microphone". Follow the onscreen steps. If the microphone still does not work, check the compatibility of the microphone with a combo 3.5mm audio jack.
