You can make adjustments to the touchpad, both sensitivity and where on the pad to touch. You can get there by clicking on the magnifying glass at the bottom left of your Windows 10 screen. Type "touchpad" in the search window. Select "Mouse & touchpad settings" from the list of choices. You can make general adjustments to the touchpad there. You can also select "Additional mouse options" for more detailed adjustments to the touchpad sensitivity by increasing the delay of the touchpad. With regard to the brightness of the screen, be sure the auto brightness feature is turned off and your screen brightness is set to 100%. You can check this by right clicking on the Windows 10 desktop, then selecting "Display Settings". Within the window that opens, be sure auto brightness is off and adjust the brightness level to 100%.
