No, the GPU can not be upgraded on this system. With regard to the AutoCAD software, check with the software publisher for their minimum/recommended requirements to run their software, then compare those requirements to this system's configuration.

Can I plug in an external DVD or Blue ray player using HDMI and watch movies? Will ihave to buy software or will this laptop just recognize the DVD or blueray player?

Not using HDMI, as this system only has an HDMI-Out port. Most Blue Ray players are USB compatible. You can plug in a Blue Ray Player in to a UBS port. You will need to install Windows 10 drivers on to this device as well.
