Is your fan noisey or run when not required? I am intersted in buying, but I want a quite machine. I don't want to have to make a bunch of modifications straight out of the box. I have seen many complaints about fan noise with this model.

The fan is not unusually loud. It should not run when the system is at idle. Also the system should be ready to set Windows up out of the box.

I'm having trouble trying to print. How can I find out what kind of printer will work for my chromebook? Does it have to be a wireless printer?

You will need to use Google Cloud Print. It should work with any printer. Here is the step by step:

Set Up a Classic Network-Attached Printer

No, all work on this system must be performed by a certified technician so as to not void the warranty.

The sleeve dimensions are: 14.8" X 9.57" X 1.18".
The U430 dimensions are: 13.26" X 9.21" X 0.19"
So the U430 will fit, it just won't be a tight fit.
