Am I able to upgrade the power supply? I think I read somewhere that you can't upgrade it with out upgrading the motherboard. If this is correct then I just bot a 800$ boat anchor

No, there is a 10 pin connection to the motherboard for the power supply that is unique.

Before I buy, two questions: First - Does this laptop get hot with basic use/are you able to use in your lap comfortably? I am using a HP Spectre x360 now and can't use in lap due to hot temps. Second - is the webcam at the top or bottom of the screen?

The Yoga 720-13 will operate normally at a temperature of approximately 150-degrees under normal working conditions. There is a fan onboard to keep the system within nominal operating temperatures. The web cam on the Yoga 720-13 is at the bottom of the screen, to make a near borderless frame on three sides of the screen.

How is storage for music & photos? I've got about 1000 songs currently, not sure of pics but there are quite a few - Also, how are music & photos transferred to new laptop?

Previous Yoga models have had issues with loud fans. Has that been resolved with this new model?

There is no problem with the fan on this device.
