Are there any real advantages to having a touch-screen computer when most of the intended use is online correspondence and business needs such as generating invoices, letters etc. all requiring typing.

It is just one more user interface you have to use. It is a "nice to have" that becomes indispensable very quickly.

Lenovo Product Expert, my laptop doesnt turn on the backlit keyboard when i hit Fn and Space bar. Can I send my laptop to lenovo and they can check and add Backlit for the keyboard?

My deepest apologies, I have just been informed that the picture on the Best Buy web site is incorrect. There is no backlight for the keyboard on this model. I apologize for misleading you.

I see both the keyboard and mouse are wi-fi'ed to the system. Are these devices powered internally by battery or do they receive a signal from the system to operate. if they are battery powered...how often should they be replaced?

There are batteries in both the keyboard and the mouse to power them. Replacement frequency will depend on usage, but figure approximately 6 months.
