Does the keyboard backlight have an auto feature to turn off after a certain amount of time or is it always on or always off?

Hello, Ein. After a period of time being idle, the keyboard backlighting can turn itself off, but can turn back on once the computer is in use again. This feature and similar settings should be able to be adjusted in the preinstalled Lenovo Vantage application.
