Hi, Atlantis. It would not work for that function, as although it has an HDMI port, it only supports video out. Like, going to a monitor, but not being the monitor.

How warm does this laptop get if I was to use in my lap some? also do the fans run a lot and are they l9ud?

Hi, Roger. Thank you for your question. So long as your lap doesn't have materials that block the air intake at the bottom of the computer, it shouldn't get very warm. Also, the fans should only get noticeably louder when the system needs to keep itself cool and its under a heavy workload like intensive multi-tasking, using programs that need more processing power and system updates.
