I'd appreciate more assistance, especially on knowing if the secondary internal SSD drive slot comes with a heatsink built in and what amount of RAM can be installed in the open DDR5 SO-DIMM slot? can the 12GB memory slot be replaced/upgraded? Thank you.

Hey again H,

The open M.2 SSD slot is not equipped with a heatsink preinstalled. While there is a heat preventative over the storage area, a storage heatsink will need to be a feature that's fixed to the added drive itself.

Also, regarding memory expansion, the noted maximum supported memory for this model LOQ 15 is 32GB (DDR5-4800). Although for disclosure, the maximum memory is only to test technical readiness of notebook and other users may have had success with installing a higher amount of memory [than 32GB]. Another note, the AMD processor this LOQ features supports a maximum memory speed of DDR5-4800. To match preinstalled memory, you could add another 12GB in the open slot for 24GB total, or you can remove the preinstalled 12GB of memory to open up your options.

Which of the two HDMI ports is HDMI 2.1? There is one next to the VGA and a second one near the DisplayPorts. I am having trouble with the one near the VGA port. The monitor keeps saying that there is no signal.

Both the HDMI port on the systemboard and graphics card are HDMI 2.1. Also, we are sorry to hear that you're having trouble with connecting the external monitor via the systemboard's HDMI output. To try to resolve this, we recommend starting by beginning to check video cable connections and ensuring they are properly connected and support the monitor's video output type and specifications. If the connections are secure, check if the computer is turned on and functioning correctly. Restart the computer and see if the monitor detects the signal. If the problem persists, there might be an issue with the graphics card, the video cable, or the monitor itself.

Next, try to update system drivers via the Lenovo Vantage app on your IdeaCentre Tower. Start by opening the Vantage app, then selecting the Check for updates button on the homepage of the application. Apply all available updates and ensure that they are all installed successfully, restarting your system after updates are applied if the system doesn't reboot itself.
