What does the polar watch tell you while swimming? Can it tell you heart rate and calories burned? I would love to know the all the features that there are in regards to swimming.

The M400 does not have any swimming specific metrics. Our V800 however, which is designed for the multisport athlete, does. In addition to tracking one's heart rate and estimating calorie burn, it also recognizes the swimming stroke, the number of laps (if swimming in a pool) as well as your pace and distance. - Mike @ Polar USA

Can you swim with this watch and have it tell you distance swam and how long you swam for? I am a runner and like to swim so trying to find a watch that does multiple sports. I recently purchased the Garmin Vivoactive and it was too big on my wrist, any females that have this watch how does it fit on your wrist? Is it chunky?

The M400 will not track any swim specific metrics (distance/stroke style..). For that functionality, one would need to go to the V800 multisport unit - Mike @ Polar USA

Is the chest strap submersible? Does the app allow you to input food data

I understand the watch is water resistant up to 98 feet but how about the chest strap itself? Can it go in the water and if so, will it calculate your heart rate and activity such as swimming or water aerobics? Does the app connect to MyFitnessPal? Does the app have a food journal?

Yes, the chest strap can indeed be submerged. You are more than welcome to use it in an activity such as water aerobics. As for the app, while Polar's 'Flow' application does not have a food journal, it does connect (for iPhone users) to MyFitnessPal. - Mike @ Polar USA

the depth measurement obviously includes the strap, but what I want to know is how high the unit itself is: If I have this on my wrist, will it fit under the cuff of a dress shirt?
