The FT7 does not have interval timers. Depending on your needs, I might recommend either Polar's A300 or M400 models. Both of these units will offer the user to create phased interval workouts (via Polar's 'Flow' web service). - Mike @ Polar USA

What is the range on the HRM chest strap transmitter?
How far does the signal from the HRM chest strap extend when it's being used? If my wife and I were to each get one of these watches and chest straps, will the signals from the chest straps interfere with each other's watch if we're side by side in a spin class or are riding our tandem bicycle? Also, my wife has an older Polar HRM watch that is maybe 7 or more years old. Would that older chest strap work with the M400, or would we need to buy a new, M400-specific chest strap? Thanks for whatever information you can provide.
Bill - The transmission range of the H7 Bluetooth Smart heart rate sensor (that is sold with the M400) is considerable. One could experience up to 30 feet of range between the sensor and the watch. As for using it in close proximity with another Polar unit, you need not to worry. The pairing process that is required between the sensor and the watch will prevent interference. Finally, a chest strap dating from 7 years ago would not work with the M400 - Mike @ Polar USA

How often does this have to be recharged?
The M400 has up to 8 hours of training time (when both GPS and heart rate are in use). You can get up to 24 days in time mode with daily activity monitoring - Mike @ Polar USA

does polar have a watch that displays currant time and heart rate on the same screen ? model # ?
Tommy - The FT series has a feature dubbed 'heart touch' that allows users to automatically see the time of day by bringing the watch next to the heart rate sensor being worn around the chest. If you want the ability to customize the display where the time of day is visible all the time with the heart rate, then I would recommend the M400. It gives the user the ability to edit what is displayed to your needs - Mike @ Polar USA
