Do I need to buy the heart rate monitor as well or it is already included?

Both the A300 and M400 models from Polar offer versions that are sold with the heart rate monitor and without. If you are interested in purchasing one, be mindful of that difference - Mike @ Polar USA

Polar's heart rate monitors are designed to pick up the electrical impulse of the human heart. If the user has a heart condition that interferes with that, then the watch may display erratic or no heart rate readings - Mike @ Polar USA

Does this watch track calories burned when I'm not working out? Such as when I'm sitting or walking slowly?
