so I want to get the purple polar loop and not the black but the back says steps taken and distance where the purple just says distance. I want to make sure the purple does step too. And the purple is more money.

The Schwinn 170 manual says it needs a heart rate chest strap that is Polar un-coded. Will this work for me?

does this keep a log of your HR data or does it show current rate only?

My doctor recommended that I get a heart rate monitor that tracks and logs my HR data so that I can see what helps and doesn't help my POTS. I need one that I can view past data and see trends and not just my current HR. Does the Polar H7 allow for that? Does it depend on which app you have?

The H7 heart rate sensor does not record any data. That is dependent on the app (or watch) it is paired to. Polar's 'Beat' application for example records the heart rate data and allows for analysis after the exercise recording session. - Mike @ Polar USA

I don't see much of a difference i'm just not a pink kinda girl..

You are more than welcome to use the FT4 silver/black while exercising. The design is more unisex whereas the pink version is designed more so for women - Mike @ Polar USA

Does the HR strap transmit in Bluetooth 4.0 or LE?

I want the strap to be able to communicate with my iphone 6 as well as the wrist piece. Does the strap use Bluetooth 4.0 or Bluetooth LE?

No, the chest strap that comes with the FT7 does not communicate on Bluetooth. You do have an option of securing the 'H7' heart rate sensor as a separate accessory and use it with both the FT7 watch and a app running at the same time on your phone - Mike @ Polar USA

Does this also pair with the Nike+ SportWatch GPS or do I have to buy the transmitter that is specific to that device?

No, the H7 is not compatible with the Nike+ sports watch. Best Buy does sell a version of our transmitters however that does work with the Nike+ product along with exercise equipment at your local health club. There is a XS-S size that is available for people who are more petite in size. There is also a XXXL(strap only, no transmitter) that is available as a separate accessory as well. Mike@ Polar USA

Yes, the M400 can be used for any activity where one wants to track their heart rate during exercise. You can create what Polar calls a 'sport profile' marked as 'rowing' and then simply disable the GPS function when indoors.
