How can I get it to ring more then 3 times for an incoming call

Lisa - Here's how you can change the number of rings before the answering machine on the VTech CS6949 answers a call.

1. Press MENU when the phone is not in use.
2. Press the arrow down button to scroll to Answering sys, and then press SELECT.
3. Press the arrow down button to scroll to Ans sys setup, and then press SELECT.
4. Press the arrow down button to scroll to # of rings, and then press SELECT.
5. Press the arrow down button to choose 2, 3, 4, 5, 6 or Toll saver, and then press SELECT.

Is there a speakerphone mode available? I get tired of holding a phone handset up to my ear for 45 minutes while on hold. Nice to be able to turn on speakerphone mode, and set the handset down until someone comes on the line.

Hi - Yes, the telephone base and the cordless handsets of the VTech IS8151-4 have speakerphone feature. You can use the speakerphone on the telephone base without picking up the cordless handset. On the other hand, the speakerphone of the cordless handset will only function if it is not cradle on the charger/telephone base.

To turn on or off the caller ID announce feature:
1. Press MENU when the telephone is not in use.
2. Press the arrow down button on the handset or telephone base to scroll to Caller ID annc, then press SELECT.
3. Press the arrow down button on the handset or telephone base to highlight Off, then press SELECT. There is a confirmation tone.
