Does the answering system have a battery back up so you don't lose your prerecorded message during power outages?

Lori - Any saved information in the VTech IS8151-4 will not be deleted in the event of power outages. The only setting you need to setup once power comes back is the time and date. Moreover, the system has a battery back up mode feature which allows your telephone system to use the stored power from the handset’s battery to operate. Cid announcement is so loud can you turn that down?

Hi - You can lower down the ringer volume on the cordless handset or telephone base of the VTech IS8151-4 if you would like to adjust the volume of the Caller ID announce. There is also an option to turn off the Caller ID announce feature for the unit not to announce the caller's information on every call. Hi - Yes, the VTech CS5129 can share a line with a fax machine. Please note that the telephone system is not capable of identifying if a call is a fax or voice call. The answering machine will pick up on any call. You need to set you fax machine to fax only mode for it to pick up on it detects an incoming fax call.
