Are there PS2 compatible cables for a 1080 p LCD HDTV?
I have a 23" 1080 LCD HDTV/ monitor. It has two HDMI outputs and a component connection (Y, Pb, and Pr) outlet. I've bought three kinds of component video cables and none of them seem to work. I plug in the standard RCA cables and all I get is black and white with sound. Is there a cable that could give me color? Or is my tv too advanced for the products out for PS2?
A PS2 should work on any TV. The best connection you can get with a PS2 is by using component cables, which should have five cords (red, blue, and green for the video; and red and white for the audio). The problem is most likely with your PS2 gaming system if you have tried three different component cables, and none of them work. An easy way to test if the problem is with your PS2 or your TV is to connect a DVD/Blu-ray player to your TV with one of the component cables you tried to connect your PS2 with, and if it works fine the problem is with your PS2. If you do determine the problem to be with your PS2 I would have the system looked at by an authorized service technician. I hope this helps!
