SOUP MAKER Saves $’s From Garbage

The exterior of the PHILIPS HR2204 SOUP MAKER appears sleek but durable…and, it is! I was happy to find that the unit isn’t has heavy as it looks.
The power cord is shorter than expected but; though not needed at the moment, I have enough heavy duty extensions in the house that afford a convenient solution.
After the first use, you will get familiar with the icons on the control panel on top of the unit:
The icon for PUREED SOUP I engaged to create a vegetable broth with a blend of veggies that I had on hand.
Using the unit gave me the revelation that, when pressed to use vegetables that are near the end of their useful life, just dump them into the SOUP MAKER for a quick broth that can be frozen for future use. Just don’t dawdle, especially when you have the tool. Interestingly, any blender should have inspired that thought. Better late to evolve than never! LoL!
For my next recipe, I rough cut a blend of veggies to use the CHUNKY SOUP icon. Just love that after adding liquid and spices, in 18 min I can return for delightfully satisfying meal that will stay warm for 40 min if I get hung up with other chores. I added flourishes for an additional flavor spin i.e. hemp seed, chopped ginger, slices of goat brie and chopped chives to reach for a bit more gastronomic ecstasy.
And, since my favorite sugar free Knudsen cranberry sauce has been discontinued, I am now forced to make my own. Thankfully, this unit’s COMPOTE PROGRAM reduced a bag of fresh cranberries, stevia, vanilla, chopped ginger and cinnamon into a cranberry sauce more economical and more flavorful than the commercial. I have to kick myself again for not saving money earlier; but, it’s interesting how a new tool can shift your consciousness to a new level of “cuisine artistry”.
Moreover, since I make a smoothie for breakfast every day, I now have the unit’s SMOOTHIE icon to make my usual smoothie or a frozen fruit bowl or an after dinner sorbet or soft serve sherbet topped with shredded coconut, cocao nibs and/or drizzled with tahini. Now, I don’t have to wait in line when the blender’s tied up. I stopped buying commercial ice creams and dairy products years ago when I learned that the stabilizers such as guar gum, carrageenan and the myriad of other additives were some of the key culprits behind my weight management problems.
Now, I happily indulge in no-damage, blood type compatible frozen smoothies and desserts without the processed sugars and junk to keep the pounds off without deprivation diets.
BTW, there is a discrepancy between the manual and the recipe book about the unit’s tolerance for frozen fruits and veggies. The latter says absolutely no frozen foods; but, the recipe book seems to allow frozen items. To err on the side of caution, I let my frozen fruits defrost a bit until I get a chance to consult with a Philips Customer Service Tech.
Also, this unit has an icon for MANUAL BLENDING that allowed me to interrupt any of the pre-set programs. So, with first attempts, I easily made adjustments to my own recipes as well as to those in the unit’s recipe book, good for a nudge when stuck.
The MAX/MIN fill line for liquids was a little hard to locate; but, I finally found it on the inside of the unit when the light illuminated the raised icon at the right angle. The picture of its location in the manual appears to point to the fill line as if it sits on the outside of the unit.
Overall, the unit’s a quick clean-up and a wise buy for the fast and furious who need to be re-tooled for healthier diet. As noted, the SOUP MAKER makes the big play to save our produce dollars from the garbage disposal or the compost bin.

Speck - GrabTab Finger Grip/Kickstand for Mobile Phones - Black
Embellish your device with a functional attachment by using this black Speck GrabTab phone accessory. It’s compatible with most brands and cases, and the card-sized, flat design slips smoothly into your pocket. Use the hanging loop on this Speck GrabTab phone accessory as a grip for a secure hold or as a kickstand for hands-free viewing.

This GRAB TAB is a solidly built tool for increasing security when operating your smartphone.
I am super pleased with the versatility of the GRAB TAB.
When I slide my middle finger through the GRAB TAB’s loop on the back of the phone, I have a more secure and stable experience
for one-handed texting and selfies.
I usually have a hard time finding a convenient surface to pitch my phone for my DIY videos during repairs, chatting and other media.
So, I really appreciate the convenience of sliding the loop up on the back of the phone with just one quick action to get the kick stand I need for viewing on any slippery surface or in most any odd location.
Before applying the GRAB TAB to your phone, you will find the plastic that protects the adhesive a little tough to separate from the unit; but, the grip is definitely necessary for the constant tug’o war that the unit must endure.
In light of the fact that the instructions do not define how to remove the GRAB TAB’s adhesive if you decide to pass your device forward, as I did, you may want to adhere the GRAB TAB to the protective gear that holds your device.rather than adhere the GRAB TAB to the actual body of your device.
The adhesive is so powerful that I am not certain that even Goof Off could break the seal.
Since the GRAB TAB loop easily slides down into a flat position, I didn’t find any obstacle to charging wirelessly for my Android Galaxy.

Though there are other colors, I got black.
Bear in mind, that if your side pack or pocket accommodates a phone with a super slim profile, this gear adds about an 1/8 of an inch. I was afraid that the increased profile would mean I'd have to get another hip bag; but, interestingly, my phone still fit.
Also, realize that with unforeseen impacts, the GRAB TAB affords the phone another layer of protection.

For a number of years, I have been anxious to cut the cord to eliminate the annually rising cost of my conventional security subscription service.
Although Honeywell doesn’t allow a full divorce from the expense of a monitoring solution, the monthly subscription is a fraction of what I currently pay.
And, so far, I don’t see a need to subscribe for full cloud storage; so, I subscribed for a trial period to test features available on the
Honeywell basic plan ~ $14.95/mth.
Depending on the status of your psyche about emails and tech related tasks, the increase in independence from an expensive monitoring service requires an increased level of interaction to establish parameters and preferences.
To minimize frustration, I scheduled a block of time to integrate this new set of app management duties into my already hectic life.
As happened to me, a couple of snags required calls to customer service.
New tech is always a trade off when we sacrifice our privacy for convenience. So, I was pleased that when I did not want 147 degrees of 1080p HD coverage of my activities, I was able to rotate the cuff over the camera to protect my privacy and turn off the microphone.
But, I found that when the base station is unplugged, the back-up battery keeps coverage running for hours, good for when there’s a power outage but not good if you want to disable the base station or the very intense alarm and don’t have time for a 911 tech call.
And, when the battery fully discharges, your solar/wind install kicks on that power wall for the 'total smart home prepper few'. LoL!
Though I have 3 doors I’d like to cover, I mounted the set of 2 access sensors that come with the unit at my back and front doors to compare to my existing service.
Voice recognition of humans is already afforded via Alexa and Amazon; but, looking forward to a fix so I can stream music and cell phone service.

For those with animal companions, I learned a forthcoming upgrade will deliver ‘audio detection analysis’ to give barking dogs a pass and, I suspect, your birds, cats, komodo dragons, et al.
Moreover, I learned another new upgrade will be able to segregate the audio of your smoke and radon alarm as ‘not intruder’.
But, for those sensitive to EMFs (electro magnetic fields), bear in mind that, to quote the manual:
“the system complies with FCC radiation exposure limits set forth for an uncontrolled environment. This equipment should be installed and operated with a minimum distance of 20 cm between the radiator and your body.”
But, every “body”, dependent on blood type genetics and your current load of environmental toxins, has variances in tolerance for EMFs. So, know your limits before adding another load, especially if you are trying to sleep near the base station.
The price point is ball park with the competition; but, looking forward to the updates that will make the base station compatible with other expandables such as the Apple Home Kit and other popular potentials.
With the promised downloads installed, the start-up price is worth getting off the my more expensive monthly contract, especially with included features i.e. facial recognition, geofencing, sounds and lights to deter intruders and the ability to support multiple viewers via the app from any location.
To side step the expense of add-ons, I have to evaluate the compatibility of cameras I have on hand with the Honeywell platform, something I should have thought about before signing on.
But, when fully integrated with the basics, the separate purchases required for 1 additional door contact and 2 windows may still be a better deal than my long term contract.
I would recommend this to a friend!

About 7 years ago, I purchased a NINJA as a gift to my partner. We’ve had many good years of use from the 1100 rpm driven machine but have a separate wet bar that will inherit the ‘old’ while the new 1400 rpm NINJA System will serve as our kitchen’s upgrade with expanded capabilities.
In an effort to reduce the footprint of our many counter top appliances, the NINJA multi tasks like the ‘leatherman’ of food prep. Offering options to puree, chop, extract as well as to do frozen drinks, ice cream and smoothies, the base boasts a powerful torque without the weight of my 40 year old Cusinart whose tool kit is a severely diminished analog to my new update.
The design of the base offers a slick and futuristic flat screen; so, there are no buttons and levers that, over time, become a depository of microbial gunk and a cleaning headache.
At HQ, NINJA designers made a big effort to protect consumers from injury. The quick start manual and the more in depth guide to recipes asks that you READ before start up. After goofing up in the past, I learned that with next gen technology, it’s best to be mindful. Familiarity with operational details prevents frustration when trying to assemble interlocking parts, a signature feature of the NINJA product line.
I tried all blades and functions in order to establish a basis for comparison with my old NINJA and a really old VITAMIX to determine if the system was a keeper.
At start up, you will notice that the footings are true suction cups that ensure a stable, immovable platform when the engine is underway….the toughest suction I have ever experienced.
Since I do a daily smoothie, I first explored the Single Serving Travel Mug with a carafe design similar to the BULLET’s but more slender and maybe taller. And, similarly, you fill up the cup with fruit, veggies and liquids to the fill line, twist on the blades and insert blade side down into the base for a quick blend.
The value-added tool is the FRESHVAC System that attaches to the top of the travel cup. The promotional flyer states that the unit creates an unrivaled “smooth texture and rich taste… less foam and separation than traditional blending”.
After the oxygen is drawn out before blending, I noticed all of the aforementioned as well as an increase in flavor; but, found it odd that the NINJA promotional text in the box doesn’t mention the most important motivator that compelled me to purchase.
As a holistic practitioner, priority is that when oxygen is removed, the vitamins are protected from oxidation. Freshly blended fruits and veggies rapidly lose a high percentage of their nutritional value almost immediately after exposure to the air and heat of the blending process. In my estimation, this trick is what makes the system worth the extra bucks. The FRESHVAC Tech is built into the system’s large pitcher that accommodates larger volumes of smoothies, soups and dips.
Generous that NINJA affords the consumer six batteries to drive the FRESHVAC; but, an A/C cord for the unit can be purchased a la cart. Must check the cord rating in the event I already have a match to avoid duplication of an item that can be repurposed. We already have too much post-consumer waste.
I also noticed a significant feature in the design of the single serve travel cup’s rim. In contrast to the BULLET and other competitors, there are no ridges on the outside lip where the top screws down. Instead, the ridges are situated on the inside below the point where the mouth touches the rim. Voila! no need for an additional rim cover to eliminate uncomfortable encounters with a ragged edge while drinking your smoothie.
One note of caution partly covered in the manual. If you have to add items you forgot on the first round, be careful that the FRESH VAC is seated correctly when blending in your adjustments on the second round of blending. The smoothie liquid could travel into the FRESH VAC but the manual says that a quick rinse and dry is the remedy. When I noticed leakage on the second round, I stopped the engine then made a note to call NINJA Customer Service to verify whether damage would have occurred had I continued blending without noticing that product was oozing out. Or, maybe additional guidance is required for using the FRESH VAC on a second round of blending.
Next, I used the large pitcher for another trial smoothie. Once I discovered how to align the top with the pitcher, I was able to make a fast and furious smoothie. So, heads up to previous NINJA owners, matching the white arrow of the lid to the white arrow of the handle is no longer the key to align the cap with the pitcher to lock down the unit before blending. With this new (to me) version, match the curve of the pouring spout with the pouring spout of the top.
But, interestingly, when I set out to lock down the large squat pitcher to puree and chop, I found a subtle gray toned arrow on the lid to match with a white arrow on the carafe. So, those with weaker vision who might miss the markers to be matched, be patient and look more closely with your kitchen lights on full blast. I caught the markings because I wore my new neck lamp that illuminated the manual and the details of the parts as I moved into unfamiliar territory.
Finally, I proceeded to switch blades between tasks to handily make a very hard butternut squash into a fluffy mound similar to a mound of smashed sweet potato. I minced carrot for a salad then thinly sliced a batch of carrot rounds for a lentil soup as well as a blended ‘mole hill’ of chopped carrot, ginger and onion for a frittata.
Bottom-line, since the machine can easily reduce a rock hard butternut squash, transforming chicken breast to burger (see recipe book) and almonds to milk will be a cinch.
As well, looking forward to my own gourmet nut butter blends with chocolate nibs, vanilla/maple extracts, dried fruits and mix-ins that are now de rigeur but outrageously priced at our local health food stores. In the chop mode, I also mixed walnuts into a fig paste for an energy bar layered with raw tahini, sea salt and coconut shreds. And, don’t forget to do the riced cauliflower recipe for gluten free, low calorie sides and/or pizza crust. Emulate what you like then make your own and save!
One last major benefit of the NINJA design is that clean-up is super easy since blades can be removed, allowing large hands to reach the very bottom of each pitcher. Easy blade removal means no crevices for harmful microbes to multiply.
A (1) Year Limited Warranty is what you get. A longer warranty would be appreciated and/or options to extend the warranty, especially since competitors are at (3-7) Year warranties for blenders. Also, I will ask NINJA to consider defining a post-consumer waste recycling program

Really pleased with the Jaybird TARAH for a whole bunch of reasons:
Though the START UP GUIDE affords clear 1-2-3 steps and the Jaybird App is offered to assist with set up, connecting is intuitive.
I had no trouble with charging the unit then going to SETTINGS on my Android to find Bluetooth that linked to my earbuds without obstacle.
But, if for reasons unknown, your earbuds don’t connect, be patient.
Reset instructions are a simple reboot and fully described in the packaging if you are a newbie to earbuds.
I have a varied history with earbuds so my basis for comparison gives me the cred to say that the audio, the fit, the style deserve high marks as compared to the competition.
And, for those of us who like to get a decent bang for the buck, the Jaybird price point delivers a high ROI in the value department.
Moreover, as a “microbe-phobe” and one who likes to keep the surfaces clean of any equipment that comes in contact with my ear canal,
I am especially thankful that the earbuds have an IPX7 waterproof rating. The rating allows me to expose the unit to the sweat of my workout, the
potential moisture from inclement weather as well as regular post-training cleansing routines. Nice to have confidence that the ear buds are specifically designed to protect the wearer from electrical shock.
BTW, the waterproofing does not mean the buds are good for swimming or bathing.
Turns out that the ear fins are more convenient than others I have experienced with too many bits and pieces.
Maybe I got lucky because, even after comparing the small, medium and large options, the right fit happened to be the original fins on the buds day one out the box.
Most importantly, I don’t get any nagging slippage when running, biking or jumping rope. You can pull the speed cinch on the cord for a tight or loose fit.
And, you’ll find the cord clip in the plastic package with the fins. Attach to your clothing asap to prevent any unhappy loss.
For the sounds to drive your fitness routine, you get up to six hours of play time with the added bonus of a quick charge that gives you 1 hour play time with only a 10 min charge.
But, to tailor the sound track of your life to any one of your varied moods, see the EQ options at the Jaybird app.
Notwithstanding the much appreciated attention to form and fit, there is no loss in the audio department. I was made ‘satisfied consumer’ with the robust and stable audio while chatting or listening to news + music with ease of transfer between all of my devices: flat screen, laptop, tablet and phone.
Thumbs up on "deez buds"!

Out the box, the Jaybird X4 is aesthetically pleasing and lightweight with a really quick user-friendly and intuitive set up.
You match the charging dots on the earbuds to the charging dots on the cord unit then plug the USB tip into your pc or any other USB plug to mount into a wall outlet or hub. An hour should get you to fully charged.
Download the Jaybird X4 for set up assistance and to tailor your listening experience with the Equalizer tool. I like a lot of bass to raise my energy when dancing, walking, running or lifting. But, while relaxing I go higher on the treble side.
You can get up to 8 hours of battery; but, I think battery longevity can depend on how many devices are connected. High volume might also shorten battery life. Still trying to test battery duration in the context of varying demands. If my suspicions are true, the X4 manual could outline a basis for comparison relative to battery life.
Other units on the market like Jabra at $169 only give you 5 hours.
So, off the bat, with or without lab analysis, the ROI is higher with Jaybird X4 at ~ $129.
Moreover, most other units are still touting sweat and water “resistance” while the Jaybird x4 has raised the roof with IPX7 waterproofing that affords these earbuds the tolerance to be submerged to 1 meter of H20 for 30 minutes. Though I swim regularly, I am not going to do that test because the manual says the buds are not for swimming or showers.
I am just happy to have the extra protection from inadvertent exposure to my sweaty neck, rain or an accidental drop in the toilet.

So far, also really happy with the robust audio for phone chats, you tube and the privacy of watching my flat screen while my partner reads. As noticed with another brand that loses synchronization of the audio with the visual, I found no trouble with the Jaybird X4 in the synching department.
Moreover, while viewing a documentary on my phone, when a segment of classical violin broadcasted over the earbuds, I was stunned by the symphonic level of clarity.
Though I don’t have a basis for comparison with the previous generations of Jaybird, the lows, mids and highs were crisp in a manner that I had not experienced in other earbuds. (Even the audio of the greeter when you turn on or shut down your phone delivers a more robust tonal quality than heard via the competition.)
And, with all of the jostling of my indoor/outdoor sports routines, I give the earbuds high marks for a snug fit. At first installation, I thought the fins and tips were the right fit then found I had to do the exploration of all options to find it right.
In my experience, the foam tips were a new option; and, as it turns out, they are the best for getting the grip I need to prevent incessant earbud fidgeting while working out or doing lawn care chores.
Nonetheless, I leave one bud out while driving and/or using GPS; but, I find my tip selection, when placed in both ears, gives me excellent sound isolation when I am in a secure location NOT requiring hyper-vigilance.
In addition to warnings about the damage high volume can do to the ear drum, the manual editor may want to warn consumers to consider leaving one ear open while moving through high risk locations to prevent unforeseen boundary violations.
The X4 manual alerts us that some ears require two different sizes for left and right ear canals. Turns out, it’s a worthwhile effort to take the time to run through all potential combinations. In the past, I may have blamed the buds for a wonky fit when I really didn’t do the work to exhaust all options.
BTW, don’t freak out like I did and think that the unit doesn’t come with a security clip for the earbud cord. After initially berating Jaybird for forgetting the clip, I found the clip packaged with the fins and tips.
Adjusting the cord length is simple enough with the pre-attached slider.
And, the multi function raised buttons are easily manipulated to raise/lower volume, fast forward, rewind, skip tracks, pause and/or play.
As well, easily deliver inquiries to your Alexa or Siri by holding down the center node.
Like most other units, the range reception drops off more or less at ~30ft.
Another cool feature is that I got a prompt to set the buds to keep the phone unlocked when the devices are within range of one another.
All in all, the X4 is a solid investment though, in light of all the years of this technology with only minimal generational upgrades, I would expect price reductions as new generations are introduced rather than price hikes, especially since the 99% are not experiencing increases in annual income commensurate with the rising cost of living.

I don’t remember Quick Start being so easy. You plug in, turn on then get your hand held all the way through set up, especially great for the tech shy.
And, if you do Microsoft Office, your platform populates all devices including your smartphone; so, home is wherever you are.
Cloud above means less data migration headaches below.
Among other favorites, my young nephew gets it on with FORTNITE. So, the house upgrade to the DELL G7 was a smart move, especially since his equipment overheats with lots of fan noise way before ready to shut down an extended play.
Though the machine has a somewhat heavy, rugged exterior that exudes durability; so far, the weight may not be in its capacity to withstand abuse but in its processing power and sharp design features.
A few small details:
• the hinge allows the top to open without lifting the bottom off the table.
• the surface deck around the keyboard doesn’t flex under pressure.
• the panel display has a matte finish with good off angle viewing without glare, good for my business meetings and power point
• Situated at the front edge of the unit, MAXXaudio, affords quite decent clarity for my needs and his
Very pleased with the cpu’s ability to construct and deconstruct docs without resistance while moving large amounts of data with multiple open windows and apps running simultaneously.
For gaming en route, the nephew offers no complaints about the display’s resolution for gaming; and, when, stationary, the interface with an external monitor for a larger view shed is an easy connect.
Says thumbs up for the benefits of Shadow Play pre-installed via GeForce to:
• analyze the system to judge game compatibility with available space + tolerances, capture game audio + video recordings for uploads to YouTube and the like
• adjust graphics and other settings for best performance.
• adjust frame rate and audio related parameters as well i.e. in BROADCASTING, fine tune how your game appears.
.
Happy that the back lit keyboard has a responsive feel and doesn’t misinterpret my key strokes. The back light is a nice upgrade that assists work in low light. DISPLAY SETTINGS offer a few adjustments.
But, for a next generation upgrade, R+D might consider a broader range of back light color options to satisfy individual preferences, especially since light frequencies have a real impact on emotion and circadian cycles.
Odd that even though the CAPSLOCK has an indicator light indicating engagement; but, the NUMLOCK doesn’t.
Thankfully, G7 letters, numbers and symbols are imbedded so they won’t dissolve over time as happened with my i5.
When exhausted, keys without letters are a pain. With a memory glitch, I’d have to look at the keys to summon up QWERTY.
My old Dell keyboard was an easy snap’n lock to replace but not certain if this new version has a similar set up for a la cart replacement.
But, under-side access to the interior is a one screw feature for those who want to enhance. Said to my nephew: “no warranty voiding manipulations allowed!”, especially since he’s already talking overclocking, thermal paste and other techie expansions to keep up with future apps after warranty expiration. He’ll have his own before that time.
For now, no complaints of ghosting and throttling, especially for the fps he’s getting even while simultaneously engaged.
A little disappointed with the battery life at 4-5 hrs at medium demand. Really thought battery tech is improving at leaps and bounds enough to afford longer run time at this price point.
Thankfully, there’s a card reader but installation is not flush.
And, no DVD/RW; so, get an external or keep the old machine for those occasions.
Ports are 3 USBs, an HDMI, gaming headset, locking port.
No fingerprint ID at start up, no pen or touch pad, no back flipping tablet tricks but the fundamentals are solid and a great ROI for the price point.
Interesting that I don’t feel short changed moving from a 17” display and keyboard to a 15.6”. So, overall, a solid ROI.
With the G7, I am an editorial speed demon for research, doc management and speaking dates when I can boot the nephew out of the gaming zone.

I don’t start the day without making a smoothie. I use smoothies as a means to supplement my diet not only with fundamental fruits and veggies but to also add minerals and additional nutrition to increase cognitive as well as athletic performance.
My VitaMix has afforded me 30 years of dependable service; but, I really like the NutriBullet Balance with the Blue Tooth App because it allows me to easily construct and file recipes as well as determine the nutritional profile of my recipes and theirs in calories, fiber, carbs, sugars, sodium, cholesterol, etc.
Pros:
Tracking ingredient amounts helps me connect the experience of my mind and body with what I consume. At the app, I can select my goals and design my nutrition accordingly.
The process is easy with the Balance: I put the canister on the unit’s scale which is also the base that blends the ingredients then add contents that are reflected as the layers of ingredients as added in real time via a simple graphic on my smartphone app. The scale is so sensitive that a reading is produced when I add my powdered ingredients such as wheat grass, goat protein, chia seeds, spirulina, etc.
As noted earlier, though I have a VitaMix and a Cuisinart, this Bullet Balance adds another variety of options that expands my knowledge base and allows me to move to a higher level of organization. This new Bullet is also another educational tool in my efforts to promote fun and easy wellness strategies to friends, family and colleagues.
The machine came beautifully packaged with lots of protective cardboard forms.
The design is hefty with a feeling of durability without being overwhelmingly heavy.
The suction cups on the base keep the unit from slipping.
It’s quiet and fast.
The cups are large with snuggly fitting caps that creates a fast transition from blending station to travel bag for a fast day.
Cons:
Personally, the highest logic in diets is the BLOOD TYPE GENETICS DIET. I must call their R+D to consider including blood type compatible recipes that optimize immunity and metabolic efficiency. What could make more sense than a DNA driven diet? Call Peter D’Adamo ND to work out the plan.
I don’t like that a time frame is recommended for a blade change. The added expense and hassle is not a deal breaker but is another item I have to track on my calendar.
Sure wish there is a post-consumer recycling program for the machine’s parts, its base, etc
In light of our current need to manage industrial waste, Bullet can be the market leader in eco-green sense with a strategy that returns product parts to their origin for repurposing in new machines or be directed to appropriate applications in other industries. greenrita.com says green-up!

DEEBOT Ozmo 930: AI 4 Clean Sweep
The Quick Start Guide is a good summary of the Manual’s content; but, it’s wisest to set aside the time to process the instructions:
For instance, you are not supposed to put the Deebot in the charger BEFORE turning it on.
The main manual also asks that all packing materials be removed because some bits and pieces may lie beneath some people’s awareness.
I have an Android phone and easily found then downloaded the FREE Deebot Ozmo 930 App via Google Play.
What I did not like is the App’s Agreement. The App want’s access to the consumer’s location and smart phone data and, with all the mishandling lately of consumer data, I don’t like allowing that access.
I hope Customer Service registers my concern and/or affords me a work around.
A welcome improvement to the App would be the addition of Push Notification; so, if the vacuum encounters a fault, the owner would get an alert without having to open the App.
I do like the vacuum’s housing. The unit has a heft and weight that promises durability, especially necessary for a household tool that is likely to encounter some bumps and grinds.
I learned that the vacuum can map only one level at a time. So, if you move it to another floor, you must reboot to allow new boundaries to be defined.
Even before moving my rugs with fringe, my puddling curtains and my cables to prevent entanglement, I realized that a person without wide open expanses of flooring would be unable to schedule a vacuuming without being present to do the prep required.
Moreover, when I tried to use my banking app, I couldn’t. Found the Deebot’s wifi doesn’t allow me to do other work using my wifi. Of course, I can use my smartphone because the default access to my service provider kicks in.
Unfortunately, I had to call Customer Service multiple times to let them know that I couldn’t access the app via the Deebot’s Network Set Up process on my phone.
The first two times their system dropped my call.
On the third call, I got a voice mail.
After 3 hours, I am still waiting for a call back or an email.
After troubleshooting Login to the App, I should be able to schedule cleanings and make real time adjustments to my vacuum’s status and its map.
Nonetheless, even though I couldn’t access the app on my phone to try to map my 1st floor level territory to be vacuumed, I hit Auto and it announced it would start cleaning. Deebot requires help to transit over 1/2" high thresholds dividing the carpet area from the wooden floors and the tiled floors; but, overall, the robot navigates pretty well finding its way around and under my furnishings.
It does try to disengage if obstacles block its movement.
BTW, Deebot announced when it was low on energy and was heading back to the charging station.
It advanced for 3 ft, whirled in different directions then shut down, never making it back to its destination to get charged up.
I carried it back.
Remember, that due to the size of the dirt bin, a regular dumping must be accomplished.
As well, the robot touts that it can vacuum carpet and wash down ceramic, tile and linoleum floors; but, remember, when you use the machine, you must clean the machine: bang out the filter, empty the dust bin and/or empty any remaining liquid.
There is a chart that indicates timing for parts replacement; so, you can install calendar alerts in your Outlook, etc
You would also want to install an alert for the ONE YEAR WARRANTY end date.
Overall, since the 930’s price point has been greatly reduced from over $1000 with its introduction to Canada and the US, it’s a worthwhile investment if you want a more regular clean sweep than you can do yourself in light of a hectic schedule.
Bottom-line, wide open spaces that don’t require removal of fringed rugs, electrical cords and coaxial cables would be the best fit unless closer supervision is OK.

PROS:
• Very simple steps to start up
• Really like the 12 hour battery life
• Audio is ample and the adjustment unit on the cord affords the user (EQ) equalizer toggle access for music vs telephone vs TV or other media applications
• So far, the cord’s tolerance for exposure to sweat and moisture is a major plus so I don’t worry about wet weather during outdoor exercise, etc
• In other words, sweat resistant tech is what I need because I am an outdoors person, always involved in grit and sometimes wet conditions.
• I spray the cord down with H202 to prevent microbial growth; so far, no repercussions.
• The malleable over-the-ear hook is a higher level of security than previous units I have owned in which the earbuds drop out of my ear if the level of jostle is too high
i.e. when jumping rope, bike riding, running or hiking.
• Though the unit comes with a variety of sizes of earbud attachments, I recommend starting with the ones with the tiered design that grip the inside of the ear canal.
• Of all the options included, the tiered design is new on the scene and seems to be the highest logic, especially in light of its ability to grip.
CONS:
• In light of the comparative analysis of all earbuds purchased over the last 10 years, the level of upgrade that this unit offers does not warrant such a high price tag at $100.
• In my book, $30 to $40 would be a more fair price point.
• Moreover, since our carbon foot print is over the top, the manufacturer should consider a post-consumer recycling strategy so the bits and pieces of these electronic ear buds can be directed back to JLAB or to a source for recycling.
• An incentive to recycle such as a rebate for another purchase of product would encourage participation so the electronics don’t end up in the landfill.
• A USB charging cord comes with the ear buds.
• A separate purchase is required to get an outlet mount for the USB cord but
• If you don’t have an extra USB port outfitted electrical outlet plug head on hand from an old phone or retired smartphone or earbud set that you already have on hand,
for that added charging convenience, you will have to make an additional purchase.
• The carry case design could be larger to accommodate both the charging cord and the earbud set.
• The cord clip attaches to clothing for ear bud ‘loss prevention’.
• The package was insanely difficult to open.
• Pressing the cord into the button-sized gizmo that allows cord length adjustment was so hard that I thought I could damage the cord.
• It would certainly be an unhappy outcome for JLAB and the consumer if the cord is damaged before the unit can be used.
• The inconvenience and expense for both parties would be a headache; but, so far, cord pinching to accomplish that task has not distorted my audio; but, then again, I don’t have a basis for comparison since I messed with mounting the cord while giving the unit its first charge before use.

How long should the motor last? After cleaning my bottom row, the motor loses power. ♿

Sounds odd that your battery is not holding a charge long enough to finish a brushing. I would call Customer Service. You might need a new unit. The battery cannot be changed by the owner.

I always put warm water in the part for flossing but the water feels very cold when it goes into my mouth. Does anyone else have that problem?

Since my water ionizing filter requires cool water, I have to put my acid water in my hot shot for a little warm up before pouring the water into the WATERPIK carafe. Like you, my teeth are sensitive to cold.

NETGEAR - RangeMax N600 Dual-Band Wi-Fi Router - Black
Choose this NETGEAR router and receive high level wireless security, the ability to share photos, music and more, and a way to keep track of your kids’ activity online. Plus, with easy installation for tablets, smartphones and computers, you’ll be able to start enjoying Wi-Fi throughout your home right away.

I have a WNR1000 Netgear router. what can I replace it with?

I replaced my WNR1000 NETGEAR Router with the ASUS LYRA VOICE AC2200.
But, if you have a multi-level space, you will need to add as many ASUS Range Extender nodes as required to take advantage of the AMAZON ALEXA LYRA VOICE enabled units. So, you would want to be able to use that feature wherever you are in the house to request music, weather, traffic, make Amazon searches and orders, to receive status reports on deliveries, etc. If you have a small space, you may only need the one unit.
