For all who “know it all” and don’t like to read directions, good idea to make the time to read the instructions BEFORE you start with this upgraded technology.
Even though there’s a 3 Step Quick Start and even if you are a veteran Philips Sonicare user, you will want to know how to adjust the special features of this brush before Start Up.

Since I may be a tad ‘know it all’, I unwittingly did the Quick Start correctly without reading the instructions; but, learned when I finally sat down with the booklet that, unless you deactivate the EASY START feature, you will not get the full force of the brush head at start up.
The EASY START feature affords, the newbie with tender gums, a 14 day gentle build up to the full force of the Philips Sonicare brush head action.
And, since I have been a ‘powered’ toothbrush user for some time, I wondered why the brush head action seemed restrained.
I even imagined that the new sonic or sound wave technology that dentists use may be the latest evolution installed in the Sonicare.

Nonetheless, even after using the tooth brush at its gentlest first day level, I detected a higher level of cleanliness of my mouth and gums after I finished.
I will have to investigate at Customer Service whether there is a certain amount of vibrational frequency tech that may provide the user a deeper clean.
If that next generation concept is not on the Sonicare R+D table by now, it should be.

Backstory is that I had gone rogue from Sonicare for a while then decided to revisit the Philips brand.
I found that the experiment was worth the investment.
The updated Philips Sonicare has installed some new game changers that I have not yet seen in competitor models.

As noted in the long version of their instructions, you can activate or deactivate the following:
• EASY START …. BTW, the instructions state: “To achieve clinical efficacy, the EASY START needs to be deactivated.”
• BRUSH HEAD REPLACEMENT REMINDER….it will be interesting to see if the mircochip’s idea of when I should replace my brush head coincides with my idea of when I need a new brush head.
• PRESSURE SENSOR….novel idea that should keep aggressive brushers from hurting themselves.
Their QUAD PACER has an audible timer to pace your brushing for each quadrant.
QUAD PACER shuts off after 2 minutes, allowing recommended time to brush your entire mouth.
The brush is also safe to use on BRACES and other dental RESTORATIONS.

Must say, I do like their 2 YEAR WARRANTY.

The Philips manual says: “The product is not intended to be repaired by service personnel in case of failure or component defect (unit can be thrown away).” (The run on sentence belongs to Philips.)
Regarding environmental concerns, I am disappointed in the company’s lack of consciousness about the role that manufacturers must take as leaders in recovering post-consumer waste.
At least in prior models, the consumer could extend the life of the tooth brush’s outer shell and electronics with the installation of a replacement battery.

As we near the sixth extinction, more sustainable measures should be taken by manufacturers to protect the environment.
I will email Philips CS to consider a post-consumer recycling program for the plastic case and all metal parts, especially since these times require all parts toxic to the consumer and the environment be channeled into a closed system that reduces our carbon footprint. With a rebate incentive, we could easily send the unit back to Philips for reintegration into their new editions.

My BROTHER ADS 2700w arrived without the standard introductory paperwork: No Quick Set Up Guide, No Product Safety info and no Warranty info.
At first, I thought the company was trying to save money until I went on line to see that, yes, the aforementioned materials are listed as “should be included”.
But, on second thought, I did not see listed that a printed version of their comprehensive manual comes with the unit.
As far as I can tell, you must download the full version of the manual in order to consider all of the many options the unit has to offer.

At 203pp, I can see how the length of the online version of the set up guide warrants those at Brother eliminating the cost of printing at their end.
But, unfortunately, the consumer may not want to assume that cost and effort, even if the online version allows the owner to shuffle through the pages to pick and choose to print only the options applicable to your needs. I found the online shuffle somewhat cumbersome; but, others might not.

The scanner does have a variety of set up options such as to scan in standalone mode or to connect to your Windows or MAC cpu, to your mobile device, to your network, etc.
What I find most useful is the unit’s ability to eliminate my always expanding stack of business cards.
Moreover, I can scan either paper or plastic business cards.
So, in addition to reclaiming office space previously lost to business card storage, I can also save time since I can stack up to 25 business cards per scanning session (as long as the card thickness is less than 0.2 in (5 mm).

What I am not happy about is that NOT included with the unit is the CARRIER SHEET required to scan the odd sized and/or crumpled receipts.
To have a scanner dedicated to transferring my daily collection of receipts to the cloud without having to stand at my all-in-one for the flat-bed lifting exercise was the very motivation for wanting the Bro ADS 2700w.

This experience is another object lesson that reading the entire manual of any technology before purchase is a wise first step while taking (with a grain of salt) the online reviews.

Now, I am disgruntled that I got stuck at start up without the very tool that I need to move forward with my “receipts to cloud intention”.

• Coated paper
• Perforated paper
• Photographic paper
• Docs with carbonless paper
• Glossy media

See page 16 of the full length manual for the entire list of UNACCEPTABLE DOCS; but, geez! Marketing-at-Brother, the list wouldn’t exist if you just included the CARRIER SHEET(s) with the machine.
From what I can discern, the CARRIER SHEET is the device that eliminates the machine’s proclivity to jam.
But, when odd items are inserted into the CARRIER SHEET that acts as a document-smoothing, transparent sheathe then the odd-doc can be transported easily through the rollers.

For the past 10 years, I have been looking hard for an independent security system that would free me from my long subscription history with ADT and, most recently, Ackerman Security.
Paying for a monitoring service has been such a rip off for too long.
The ARLO security cameras so far fit the bill as a first point of entry in designing an independent model for monitoring my property.
Couldn’t believe how easy the system was to set up.
Security systems have really evolved to the plug and play level with easy mounting solutions for a variety of surfaces.
So, seems like my delay in getting on board was a delay in my favor.
Paying for a monitoring service has been such a rip off for too long.
The ARLO security cameras so far fit the bill as a first point of entry in designing an independent model for monitoring my property.
Couldn’t believe how easy the system was to set up.

Just takes a few steps to wirelessly integrate cameras to a base station and your router.
You do need to have an available Ethernet cable. I had to buy one since mine were all engaged.
The quick start brochure is an easy follow to sync up the 2 cameras of my first kit to the base station with only a few button presses.
There are also plenty of online videos if you prefer audio visual guidance to print.
When ready, I will also have to purchase additional cameras separately since resolution is a strong 1080p and peripheral range covers far more than expected at 300ft.
A charging cable for the cameras is included; but, the cameras are good for 6 months. Bet the length of the charge depends on how cold the weather. But, if you want to hard wire the cameras, power adapters are more items to purchase separately.
I don’t like the extra errands; but, maybe not a bad hassle to break free from the commercial security companies.

What a relief! I just went through 20 miles of bad road trying to find earbuds that stay put and deliver great audio.
These buds are so much better than others I have tried and returned.
Competitors so far in my book have so many good features; but, top priority for earbuds is that they stay in place.
I have been severely irritated when earbuds easily fall out.
Even when I have tried all the different sized fittings, the earbud design in other brands would be an unstable fit; so, I would constantly have to make adjustments.
Pairing is super easy and their little prompting guide fits easily into their little carry case. And, you'll need the guide to remind you of all the adjustments to your phone and media listening you can do.

Set up is a breeze.
The Chromebook design is sleek, aesthetically pleasing and super lightweight, especially for the super large screen.
The keys have a soft, round texture that I like.
Also, the response level of the keys suited my touch without any adjustment.

Making my online connection via wifi was a cinch.
So, my Google mail and all explorations popped up across the top of the screen for easy toggling between pursuits.

I experimented with Accessibility Settings and found the voice settings unnecessary for my needs; but, the service is an especially nice feature for those that need absolutely everything read aloud.
I did need to enlarge the font a tad via the General Settings but found that the Magnifier option in Accessibility, in my case, would only be necessary for specific applications.
Nonetheless, the feature is another special touch.
Initially, I hit ‘High Contrast’; but, it made all images solarized. Thankfully, I quickly figured out how to get images back to normal.
The ‘General Settings’ are very easy to navigate to tailor the Display and a variety of other options to your taste.

The app claims to be able to teach me something about directing my writing toward particular audiences; so, decided to give it a whirl.

I really liked the templates offered in the Docs section for a variety of applications: resumes, invoices, etc

And, when you want to scroll down, don’t forget that with a Chromebook, you need to use two fingers on the pad.
When I wanted to use the Help Section, I had to install my SNID# or the S/N you’ll find on the underside of the machine.

Since my HP 3620 Printer was not in the compatible category for Chromebook, I was disappointed to learn that I will have to set aside time to link up the Chromebook via a cascade of instructions.
The Bluetooth connected with my HTC Desire Eye smartphone easily; so, now I can easily stream content by Chrome Cast to the l5.6” screen.
This model Chromebook affords a very thin line of distinction between functionality, size, scope as compared to my laptop except, operationally, more cloud dependent.

At holistic support groups, I use Power Point to promote detox protocols to heal through nutrition.
I was using the pocket-sized 3M MPro 150 to project images but because I had trouble getting the level of resolution I need for audiences in larger rooms,
I finally decided to explore the Epson VS250. The unit is light but nowhere near as light as the 3M pocket sized projector; but, the trade-off was worth it because I needed the upgrade from a pocket sized image.
I was using the pocket-sized 3M MPro 150 to project images but because I had trouble getting the level of resolution I need for audiences in larger rooms,
I finally decided to explore the Epson VS250. The unit is light but nowhere near as light as the 3M pocket sized projector; but, the trade-off was worth it because I needed the upgrade from a pocket sized image.
Though the VS250 unit is a much larger foot print, I get a higher resolution for projecting not only my PP’s; but, I can also use it to stream movies and other media from my laptop.
Hooking up my Bluetooth speakers brings me the sound level I need for large rooms and action movies and other media I want to stream from my laptop.

Multiple ports allow a variety of hook ups via 2 USB ports, audio, video, computer and HDMI.
Thankfully, I have an HDMI cable on hand; but, all I needed for my dry runs was the cable included with the unit to link my laptop to the projector.
Included, as well, is a handy remote (batteries included).
You can adjust the image and focus as well as toggle through the menu from the remote or from the touch pad on top of the projector.
The icons make moving through the menu pretty intuitive; but, it’s always good to review instructions.

The most unusual perk is the Epson EXTRA CARE Road Service coverage. So, if you’re on the road and have any problems, you don’t have to hassle with organizing a repair. Support is a phone call away. The number is on the underside of the unit. If replacement is required, they promise to be 'pronto'. Would be nice if the warranty could be extended beyond the one year limited for the projector and the 90 day limited on the lamp. But, shop around for bank credit cards that offer extended coverage on electronics, furnishings, etc as a part of their benefits program. I get some piece of mind from the coverage, especially for mobile devices that are exposed to greater risk.

This vacuum is for the very fit or for the times when you want to build pectorals. Nonetheless, redeeming values are as follows:
• Set up is a simple and quick process; but, wise to look at the guide.
• Suction is super powerful, certainly a function of the heavy engine. So, when doing small rugs, I stand on both ends to prevent losing the fabric into the head.
• The crevice tool and the brush tool are mounted conveniently on the body of the vacuum.
• Another small tool with a rotating brush head can be attached to a side mounted hose.
Though promoted as the tool for dog hair, I use the flexible hose and small heads for upholstered furnishings, reaching curtains, getting under furniture and giving the flat and vertical planes of carpeted stairs a deep dry cleaning.
• Most convenient is that no bags are required. When filled with dirt, I pop out the canister for a quick’n easy dump into my compost tumbler. But, heed the warning not to bend the screen inside the canister.

Since I have owned a variety of Navigators, I have a good basis for comparison. So, in my very busy life, I favor my cordless Navigator that is light weight and can be easily wielded without cord management.
Maybe 2-3 times a quarter, I’ll have the time and attitude to ‘man-up’ with the Swivel for a deep, top to bottom house cleaning.
A young couple may not have the resistance I have to a heavy machine; but, at 64, 5’6”, 130 lbs and even though I work out, I get into workout mode to reach for a power tool of that weight whether it’s the lawn mower, hedge clippers, leaf blower, weed wacker or my Shark Navigator Swivel.

Ample warnings are written in the manual and the instructions are clear and easy; but, I never like having to stop mid chore to correct something I did to myself.
Bottom-line, with the Swivel, you will get super clean if you can power lift. But, if you buy things on line for a better price point, it’s a good idea to do a test run in a local store to check maneuverability for your height and weight. At 6’4”, 220, my guy easily gets his swerve on with the Swivel. And, we both love the 5 year warranty not seen with less durable machines.

Another handy solution is the slider that allows me to lengthen or shorten the cord.
The audio buttons are a high enough profile so I don’t have to struggle to find volume up and down, etc.
Most importantly, the audio clarity is hi fidelity for phone, music and other media.
One major upgrade over the competition is the ingenious charge/clip battery pack that piggy backs to the ear bud control unit.

Sounds odd that your battery is not holding a charge long enough to finish a brushing. I would call Customer Service. You might need a new unit. The battery cannot be changed by the owner.

I always put warm water in the part for flossing but the water feels very cold when it goes into my mouth. Does anyone else have that problem?
Since my water ionizing filter requires cool water, I have to put my acid water in my hot shot for a little warm up before pouring the water into the WATERPIK carafe. Like you, my teeth are sensitive to cold.

I am not going to send this printer to be repaired, and would like to turn it in to whomever that takes them. Does Best Buy do this? I also have three cartridges (940) for which they are still in the original packaging.
Take it back to the Best Buy Customer Service asap. Bring your receipt. There is a 14 day policy for returns; but, revisit the parameters on your receipt.
