This player is for someone who wants a simple, fast, high waking Blu-ray player that will naturally play a disc on your television in the best manner it can.
I have a Roku 3 which takes care of all my streaming needs, so I just wanted an uncomplicated player that would load my discs quickly and play.
So far, this unit does just that. It quickly loads discs, faster than I've ever seen in a player. I am bit streaming audio to my receiver so that I can hear DTS-HD Master. All is well. It is fast, plays every disc new and old, at the highest quality possible with Blu-ray discs

Despite the genre and subject matter, which doesn't usually interest me, this show is one of my new favorites. It is up there with True Detective in flawless execution. I think if this team did an eight-hour miniseries on how a cardboard box is made it would have audiences glued to their seats. They are just that good. I heard a quote somewhere from a famous composer or a musician who said that music is made in the silence between notes. I am paraphrasing, but this show exhibits the film version of that notion. The acting is fantastic, and the writing is even better, but the actual beauty of this story is how they tell it. This is obviously about an affair and the resulting consequences, but it is told from two different perspectives in a way that I've never seen before. It felt so fresh. My absolute favorite character in this show is the ever present discrepancy between the two versions. There are so many subtleties and layers to the story, and as each episode paints on another coat, the differences begin to mean so much more. You just have to experience it. There is so much trash on TV we are all standing in it up to our knees Once in great while a show reminds me that good television can be a work of art. This is one of those shows. Don't miss it. God only knows when another pearl will come along.

"Sometimes the truth is not believable but it does not mean it is not true." Mike Finkel (Hill) is an important and respected journalist for the New York Times. After a story he wrote is exposed as not true his like is ruined. While trying to decide what to do next, he receives a call saying that a man named Christian Longo (Franco) killed his wife and children and said his name was Mike Finkel. After traveling to meet Christian, Mike decides to write a book with and about him, while at the same time trying to decide if Christian is innocent or if he really did do the horrible things he is accused of. This is a flat out an amazing movie. The acting is great, as expected, but the fact that this is a true story makes it that much more engrossing. You spend the entire movie wondering, as Mike does, about Christian's story. One minute you think he is innocent, and the next you think he is guilty. The constant flip-flopping last until the very end of the movie and that also keeps you absorbed in what you are watching. This is a movie I could go on and on about, but I will just end with watch this. Right now. Overall, a flat out a terrific movie that will keep you engrossed and involved all the way to the end. I loved it. I easily give this an A+.

This lens is miles above the 28-135 IS, it's built much better feels better in your hands, and the controls are a delight to work with. You're getting every penny you pay for this in quality and technology with this lens and rest assured it WILL perform.
Of course we all could wish it was cheaper, but professional camera gear is just this way... when I go out to do landscape and wildlife photography my jeep triples in value as soon as I put the camera bag in the back.
The Image Stabilization system in this camera is great, leave it on always, it's sensitive enough to help even absorb the flicker of the mirror in your camera. You don't have to switch it off when you mount it on a tripod. While it will not save every shot and blur is always a possibility when you go below 1 60th of a second with any lens but I have had great luck using this to hand hold images down to as little as 1/4 of a second some of them turn out some of them don't but the fact that ANY of them turn out is impressive to me and proof the technology works.
You need to know HOW to use the IS; however, it's important that you allow the internal gyros time to spin up before you take the shot this takes about a half a second. Learning to see the photo before it happens and anticipating the shot is all part of this process, allowing the lens a half second to spin up to speed will enable you to utilize the full potential of IS
The circular aperture of this camera works well and allows you to get the depth of field you want without the annoying jagged edges in out of focus items that lenses with standard aperture blades will give you. Bokeh is a little weak, but we are only at f4, so that is expected.
Speaking of F4 it lets in a fair amount of light, I have not noticed any Vignetting at any focal length, but shooting on a 1.6 sensor crops out the edges...
Compared side by side with the 28-135 on a Rebel XTi the shots taken with this lens are easily recognizable as more contrasty and sharper. (the 28-135 IS STILL a great lens, however)
As with any lens, this one has its characteristics that you will need to get use to. Flare is very minimal in all but the most extreme lighting situations. However when you do encounter flare (usually only happens when your TRYING to get the lens to flare out on you) you usually get a sharp jagged object with a halo around it, If you're trying to create a purposeful flare effect that looks good this is not the lens to use.
If you just bought the Rebel XTi, this is the kind of lens you are going to need to utilize all ten million pixels on the camera.
So if you buy this lens, congratulations you have just reached the top of technology and optical performance. If treated right this lens will provide you with a lifetime of images of uncompromising quality.

I've had it for a week, and it is everything that I was expecting. Instead of using Macbeth Color charts or other measurement tools, I just took it into the field and shot landscapes and scenics (what I do). It is incredibly sharp and detailed. I photographed some flowers without a macro lens and cropped them. Beautifully detailed images. I have the 5DSR, and I do not see any moire patterns. I tested some low light pictures, and I did see some noise in the shadows like other Canon cameras. However, I HDR'd the same images and created stunning files. Shooting at f22, I experienced the same type of diffraction as with any camera. So, the optimum apertures are still in the f8 to f11 areas. I only shoot raw, so I cannot say how it handles jpegs. I processed my images in Lightroom CC. Because of the image sizes, I noticed a very slight slow down in processing but nothing inconvenient. I used both Photomatix and Lightroom CC to process HDR. The processing time was slower but not intolerable. Overall, I have the same thrill of when I went from 35mm to 2 1/4 back in the film days. This is a bigger jump. I have a 5D Mark II. I would say this camera is equivalent to going from a 2 1/4 to a 4X5. You have the flexibility of shooting handheld. I am excited that Canon made this move...

I am so pleased with my new Earpods - I cannot believe how great they sound - wonderful bass response, great sound through all ranges and they are super-comfortable compared to the older buds. And they arrive in a super-groovy little case that is pure Apple. The buttons on the remote are different, they feel a little larger and seem more tactile to me, and the feedback, or sense of having successfully 'clicked' is much better, I think. And back to the sound - they are just fantastic! I've never been able to afford an excellent set of buds, but I read other reviews where people said these compared to their super-expensive >$200 'buds, and I can certainly believe it. And did I mention they were comfortable? And all this for $29.00 - this is one of their best accessories yet - and I'm happy as a clam to have them. The best birthday present I've gotten in a while!
