Nextbase quality with front and rear cameras

The NextBase 320XR dashcam camera set is a well-built, compact pair of cameras. A base front windshield unit which is slightly smaller and more compact than some of their other models and a separate ball like Rear Window camera. This duo of cameras comes in at a lower price point in comparison to other Nextbase models (I also have the 4k 522GW model). The main camera is not a touch screen, has lower recording resolution (HD 1080p @ 30 frames per second). Regardless, this setup has the advantage of having a rear camera, so you have a front and REAR view. I really like the rear-view mode, the recording quality is also HD.
This camera dispenses with some of the more advanced connectivity features that are in other Nextbase models as it does not include Bluetooth, WiFi or GPS. Frankly 90% of the time I don’t use these features, removing the memory card when I need to download video, as some of the connectivity features of the more advanced cameras can be glitchy anyway.
This model also does not include the suction cup mount, only adhering to your windshield using a plate with adhesive (I don’t see why you couldn’t purchase a suction cup mount separately). Frankly I changed to using the adhesive plate for mounting my 522GW model as in high interior temperature, parked car scenarios, I would find the camera had fallen off the surface of the windshield when using the suction cup. The bracket separates from the body of the camera (the power plugs into the bracket) and kinda snaps in place with the help of a magnet if you need to remove the camera for safe keeping (front camera only).
As with other models the video recorded is crystal clear from both the front and rear cameras. Nextbase continues to produce quality dashcams and this carries on in that tradition. I installed this unit in my wife’s car and it really does deliver. Wise move to add the rear facing camera as it gives you recorded visibility into tailgaters and rear end collisions. The Intelligent Parking mode also records a video clip if your vehicle is bumped while you are away (sourced from both cameras), helpful in determining the culprit in parking lot mishaps. Removing some of the more advanced features to bring this duo of cameras in at a reasonable and more competitive prices point was a wise move.

handy personal blending device

The first time I used this unit it was to create some fruit smoothies. I used frozen strawberries and bananas (frozen ones seem to work better). The blender base is compact and powerful. The blending process went smoothly and produced awesome drinks. The unit comes with three plastic 20oz. cups with two lids with a spot and one that is just a plain lid. The motor is pretty powerful at 900 watts and worked well, with no problems crushing ice and frozen fruits. I also found the 20-recipe book pretty handy and found many more recipes online.
Overall, this personal blender is perfect for creating drinks for you and your significant other (my wife loved it) or just for creating and storing a few drinks in the refrigerator for yourself.

good multiport portable adapter

Does what is advertised, all the ports work, just ensure you know the design limitations of the product. All my devices which I connected to this multiport adapter worked with the USB-C port on my notebook, including passing through 4K video to a single monitor, as the specification note, don't try anything above a refresh rate of 60mhz. The short USB-C to USB-C cable tucks back into the unit for storage, however a longer cord is also supplied with the unit. Network. The ethernet port functions and appears to support gigabit connectivity. There are some limitations with the VGA port (such as only passing HD video and not being able to extend your desktop) however I did not find this to be much of a hindrance. The inclusion of a SD & Micro SD card slot is super useful for transferring photos and video from media from my camera to my laptop. This type of device is increasingly important as laptops and notebooks become slimmer and more compact. My new gaming laptop has nothing but USB-C ports and a proprietary connector, so this is just what I needed for when I travel.
Pros: does everything it is advertised to do
Cons: rather have another HDMI port instead of VGA, but for compatibility purposes I understand why to include VGA.

portable mini backlit keyboard, comes in handy

I often find myself struggling with the on screen keyboard for my iPhone and iPad. The Logitech MX Keys mini keyboard solves a number of problems for me. First off, it is compact yet easy to type on, unlike other keyboards which have issues with key spacing, my hands naturally pressed the tactile and responsive keys. In addition, this model is back lit and has an integrated rechargeable battery. The keyboard can be charged using the USB-C plug on the edge of the top right corner, near the on off switch. Logitech definitely has the ergonomics down on this model. It also includes shared function buttons which can be used to switch between three paired devices, this was especially handy when using with my iPad and iPhone.
Battery life is pretty good and is rated 10 days (not sure the hours) when using the backlit functionality and “months” with it disabled. Regardless since this is rechargeable in comparison to my Logi K380 mini keyboard battery life is not really an issue.
Overall I am pretty happy with this Bluetooth keyboard. Certainly, this would be more than adequate to use with any of my devices. You could get by with going on a trip with just this keyboard and your mobile device and have confidence that if you had to type anything substantial, this keyboard would be more than adequate to handle the situation.

The Oster Pulverizing Power Blender is basic and simple, like the versions my parents used to have. However, basic and classic shouldn’t have negative connotations in this case. The six cup clear glass jar has enough capacity for making adult fancy drinks or smoothies of your choice. The powerful 800 watt motor rendered crushed ice in seconds along with just about anything else you threw in it. There are 8 speeds/settings including Stir, Mix, Chop, Blend, Liquify, Puree, and Pulse. I chose this blender for it’s all metal drive and three year warranty. While this is not my primary mixing device, it has found a home as a permanent fixture in my home bar and eases through the process of making my favorite frozen drinks. The unit is easily cleaned and seems durable. If you want a basic, quality-built blender this is it.

Quality multipurpose earbuds for work and play

I am not going to deep dive into the specs or operation of the earbuds, other than saying this is a modern, well-engineered implementation of wireless technology that is not exactly groundbreaking. They are a value offering providing performance not normally found at this price point.
The Jabra Elite 3 Wireless earbuds are a compact well-made pair of wireless Bluetooth earbuds. They occupy the lower end of the Jabra line but still provide competent performance for most needs. As with most earbuds they come with other size interchangeable buds, the default installed medium buds seemed to be most comfortable in my ear. I will say that since the control buttons are on the surface of each bud they do feel like they are getting pushed in to your ear canal a bit when pressing them. These are not active noise cancelling earbuds, but they fit so well you almost don’t notice external noise or miss ANC.
In any case these were easy to pair via Bluetooth to my iPhone 12 pro and HP laptop (you do need to disconnect from one device to connect to another). Since the package really didn’t include an instructional insert, I had to rely on the quick start guide within the mobile app. The buds sit in a little carry case/charging station, which charges the ear buds with power left over to quick charge the buds when needed. I found the USB-C connection on the case a bonus and is fundamentally a better connection than older USB interfaces. The case also is a bit magnetic, so the ear buds are pulled in for charging and remain secure. Definitely an improvement from an earlier pair of non-Jabra wireless earbuds I have which are a bit finicky to place in the changing case, so this was a welcome improvement.
As for how they sound, competent is the best way to describe it. The sound reproduction is fairly accurate but a bit on the soft side, no range stands out, even with the different settings available in the Jabra app. The buds also have a passthrough mode so you can hear ambient sound without removing them from your ears. I also used the buds on a few Zoom teleworking calls and was very pleased with how they performed. The built-in microphones and circuitry exercise the knowledge and expertise Zabra has built up over the years in creating business and call center headsets. Not having to have a wired set of earbuds attached to my HP computer really comes in handy, pairing again was easy which can sometimes be a challenge for Windows devices. I also used these earbuds at the pool and found them to provide numerous hours of use without the need of a recharge (to be franl I never fully depleted the batteries, but have no doubt they perform as advertised in regards to battery life). The Bluetooth connection (version 5.2) was rock solid indoors and out, without any dropouts and good range indoors including between walled rooms. Outdoors the range was substantially further than the rated 32 feet.
The mobile app (just about everything relies on one now) was useful in changing to different sound presets and being able to control Hearthrough mode, along with the battery level and connection state of each of the buds. The app will also provide firmware updates (when available) along with a “Find my Jabra” function for locating your earbuds. I did not allow the app to use location services, so I did not evaluate this function. You can also access the “Quick Start guide” which gives you the basics or access the more detailed user manual which is maintained online at the Jabra site.
Overall, I think these are an excellent value, with performance which exceeded my expectations. You will not be panicked if you misplace or lose them, since they are relatively inexpensive compared to other wireless earbuds. Good job on the Elite 3 series Jabra !

The Digipower - The Achiever - Video Call Pro kit with 60 LED Light, Stand & Smartphone Holder is a must have for teleworkers, vbloggers or anyone who wants to produce well lit video. The unit has many capabilities such a smartphone holder which rotates and attaches to a telescoping stand which adjusts from 9 to 12.5 inches in height. The stand is steady and can also mount the 60 LED light panel which has a 2000mAh built-in rechargeable battery which will yield about two hours of light, probably a bit more it you use a mode which lights only a portion of the LEDs.
The light temperature is adjustable with warm to bright white or a combination of both. The light mounts two ways, to the tower/stand or using a supplied clip which can clip to your laptop with a circular clip over your laptops built in camera lens. It can also attach to camera via a camera shoe adapter.
In any case I found this device per useful for teleworking using Zoom, Teams, WebEx or any other video conferencing solution. Would recommend for anyone that creates content or participants in virtual meetings.

honeycomb design increases comfort during long gaming sessions. When you download the mouse software you can access various lighting options and dpi controls. In itself there is a button on the bottom in the mouse that can cycle through several lighting modes.

handy storage and transfer capabilities

The SanDisk - 128GB iXpand Flash Drive for Lightning & USB-C Devices is certainly versatile for physically transferring and backing up content from any device with a USB-C or Lightning port devices like an iPhone, iPad, and capable android devices. Mobile apps (it appears they required) are available in your favorite App store. Windows software is already on the flash drive if you wish to install it on your Windows PC, I found it unnecessary on my PC as I did not plan on using the encryption capabilities. However if you take exhilarating media with your mobile device, using encryption might make sense if the flash drive becomes lost. The iOS app was a bit sluggish on my iphone 12 Pro, seemed it wanted to index or thumbnail my photos/videos after I had backed up/copied them to the flash device. In any case the iXpand Flash Drive is a super convenient way to download and transfer content between devices. As for the speed of this device, 81.5mbps using the USB-C interface, to copy to a large movie file to an SSD equipped laptop is speedy. What I found pretty impressive was playing back content on the flash drive directly connected via USB-C or the Lightning port. Using VLC Player for Android provided flawless playback, without any dropped frames or stutters in video taken at high bit rate using the FiLMiC Pro app on my iPhone 12 Pro. The drive delivers impressive throughput for both copying and being used as a playback source. Overall, this is a super handy device and a must for anyone who uses their iPhone or other mobile device to create content.

Decent device protection, interesting interface

Bullguard Internet Security is a new protection suite for your PC, Android device or system running a MacOS. Installation was simple and completed within a few minutes. This is the first time using the product and I like the control panel like interface which has separate areas which I will cover here:
- Antivirus Real-time protection, which scans files as they are loaded, and through the dropdown driven interface additional options for Quick, Full, Custom, Settings and to determine which files have been previously quarantined.
- Firewall – software-based firewall, with the ability to manage rules, see activity network activity in logs, with some insight into hosts which have been blocked. Looks pretty good however 95% of people will never have to do anything here.
- Vulnerabilities – shows vulnerabilities in the configuration of your device, it did find that I was behind on Microsoft Updates and provided me guidance.
- Backup – simple backup functionality, will back to Google Drive, OneDrive, Dropbox and USB devices/Network Drives. I configured a simple backup job and it seems to be fairly straightforward.
- PC Tune Up & Game Booster – will perform the normal maintenance functions, Windows and Browser cleanup. A duplicate file finder (which is handy) and a Game Booster which lowers the resources Bullguard utilizes during game play. This is supposed to configure itself, I have seen it take action on one game which it asked me to allow to access the internet and marked as optimized in the Game Booster section.
- Parental Controls – have not really looked at or reviewed this feature.
- Secure Browser – opens a private browser, similar to other browsers with a InPrivate or Incognito mode.
- Identity Protection – available as part of an upgrade to BullGuard Premium Protection.
- Home Scanner Network - available as part of an upgrade to BullGuard Premium Protection.
- BullGuard VPN - available as part of an upgrade to BullGuard Premium Protection.
Overall after using Bullguard Internet Security for over three weeks, I have not run into any issues. My PC seems to perform well, real time scanning seems to have minimal impact on system resources and even when performing a full scan, the use of CPU cycles seems to adapt when other process starts to contend for CPU cycles. I do like the interface with each of the areas covered using a dropdown interface. The firewall and antivirus seem to have many different configuration options all which lead to a lot of flexibility in use of the product. Overall, the product does what it is supposed to do, with minimal impact on the performance of your PC, even when using the most resource intensive applications or games – Bullguard Internet Security seems to get out of the way without leaving you unprotected.

My PC seems to perform well, real time scanning seems to have minimal impact on system resources and even when performing a full scan, the use of CPU cycles seems to adapt when other process starts to contend for CPU cycles. I do like the interface with each of the areas covered using a dropdown interface. The firewall and antivirus seem to have many different configuration options all which lead to a lot of flexibility in use of the product. Overall, the product does what it is supposed to do, with minimal impact on the performance of your PC, even when using the most resource intensive applications or games – Bullguard Internet Security seems to get out of the way without leaving you unprotected.
Pros:
- Easy to install.
- Cool interface with each area having a dedicated box with dropdown boxes to dive deeper into that function.
- Signature updates happened seamlessly in the background, with indicators of activity on its taskbar icon.
- Built to not impact resource intensive applications or games.

- None observed so far.
