Good sounding, temper your expectations

The Sony SRS-XB21 Portable Bluetooth Speaker is a well-built, tiny at about the size of a medium size tea cup. It is water and dust proof (although I would be wary about submerging it). The sound is rich and clear, bass response is decent and clear as is usually the case with Sony’s wireless speaker line. The speaker is easy to pair, has a combined play/pause/next track/answer call button and a separate +/- volume buttons. A removable small panel reveals a USB Micro Type B jack for charging the speaker and a line in jack (which I usually do not see on Bluetooth speakers) for connecting a device to playback through this speaker.
You can also chain this speaker to others of the same type to expand your sound field. Overall what matters with a Bluetooth speaker is sound. This speaker sounds good in quiet environments, although it can easily get drowned out by ambient noise and only gets so loud.
Overall this is a good SMALL speaker, don’t expect it to fill a good size room with slamming beats. But it will do a decent job in small meetings or events where you don’t need to overpower the room with sound.

Decent, serviceable gaming headset

The Turtle Beach Recon 70 gaming headset provides a pretty good experience. It connects to your device via a 3.5 inch jack. It has a three-position microphone, one fully deployed for in game speech functions, a middle muted position and a fully stored configuration. The well padded, divided plastic speaker cups which allows the speakers to lay over your ear in a comfortable fashion, even with large ears. Also the headphone band has some additional padding so it rests on your head comfortably.
As for how they sound, for the price I think they are decent although nothing outstanding. High ends seem to be a little muddy, with low frequency sounds not being overly pronounced. The on ear volume control also is fairly handy, much better than the on wire type. I would have liked a plug for the sound cord on the headphones itself, this way you could use your own cable of any length, rather than the integrated type.
I’ve worn this headset for a nonstop 5 hour gaming session without any fatigue or discomfort. Overall I think this is a decent, comfortable budget headset. It could use a few improvements, but to compare these to a high end gaming headsets is unfair.

compentant Multifunctional Printer

The Canon PIXMA G4210 Wireless MegaTank All-In-One Printer is a great concept. Refillable large capacity ink tanks, the usual four separate color tanks, including the larger black ink tank. After removing what seemingly are 20 pieces of tape used to secure the various printer trays and doors, you need to fill each of the tanks with the supplied bottled ink. I was a little wary at first about getting the colors correct, as if you make a mistake you are in trouble, so pay attention. You also need to install the two print heads for the unit, I’ve heard about some durability issues regarding them while researching this unit. Givin that for a printer targeted at medium business volume printing you would think some of the parts would be designed for durability. As with other Canon multifunction printers, which I have been using for the last three generations, they are being built increasingly with cheaper, lighter feeling plastic parts. This form factor is also different from previous generation of Canon multifunction printers. In any case, printing seems standard from a rear paper input tray, quality is decent, but not exceptional. The G4210 is fairly loud, and wobbles back and forth when printing on anything but the most secure stand. I did not have many issues setting up the printer as others have described. I simply downloaded the Canon IOS app and connected to the printer’s Wifi access point. Then ran through the iOS app to configure the printer for my network. In addition, with the app I can utilize my other network printer, my Canon MX922. Using the iOS app I can take pics of documents, save in multiple locations, including to the cloud as PDF or JPG files. My Windows 10 and iOS (via AirPrint) devices easily found my new G4210. Scanning of documents was easy either on the platen or through the document feeder, although the latter had a bad habit of feeding in multiple sheets upon scanning. And when lifting the cover to access the platen (scanning glass) the cover it will slam back down if released, these is no resistance when lifting like previous models. Also the top of the scanner when raised sometimes tended to lift up on it hinges unevenly.
In any case I am not sure how often I will have to refill the massive ink reservoirs and the printer came with an additional two black ink bottles. Overall this is decent multifunction printer (MFP) however not sure it will survive more than a few refill cycles. Just can’t see the page count getting too high on these units.

good reception - all the OTA I expected

I live pretty close to the broadcast towers for my TV market. Many Over the Air (OTA) stations are available including some interesting sub channels. So being able to receive all my local channels is convenient and with a good quality antenna such as with Mohu Leaf Supreme Pro clear, digital dropout free. In any case the Mohu Leaf Supreme Pro antenna (or better yet TV Doormat as I like to call it since it resembles the size of a typical one) does a good job. Being so close to the TV towers (but quite a bit away from our PBS channels) it was interesting how well it was able to receive near and distant stations without having to use the supplied USB powered signal amplifier. Overall I figured I would also get one for my older parent who watches quite a bit of “oldie” stations. Her apartment, being further away from the transmission towers really made good use of the amplifier, pulling in stations she had not been able to receive before. Literally her TV was able double the number of stations she was able to clearly receive, even in poor weather. The package came with an extra long cable allowing the antenna to be placed high on the wall and near a window. I have purchased other OTA antennas of this type, this one seemed to perform the best, pulling in stations from nearly 50 miles away as advertised.

I figured now that I have a brand new iPhone XR I would take advantage of the wireless charging capabilities. The Belkin 5 watt wireless charger works well enough, it takes quite a bit more time than using a wired charger, I found it really handy for use at work, when I often place my phone on my desk anyhow, now I just place it on this charging pad, it helps to maintain my charge throughout the day and enables me to not worry about eventually wearing out my lightning port.

Awesome for surround sound based gaming

The Logitech G432 Surround Sound Gaming Headset is a good device for gamers looking to have an immersive gaming experience. I recently acquired this headset and have tested it out with a few different types of games, ultimately having my preference of using it for adventure, exploration style games where understanding surroundings and sensing directions of sounds is key. This is one of the great aspects of the 50mm Drivers and DTS Headphone X 2.0 Surround Sound. Good sound quality that is robust for the adventure experience. While nice for this type of game, other genres like sports or fighting games don't really need the feature as much. In those instances, the headphones become a way of simply playing a game without using TV audio.
The microphone works well enough for what is advertised. The flip to mute function is handy and not a distraction while wearing the headset. In general, the headset is comfortable for long play sessions, having been tested by me for multiple sessions of 3+ hours without issues. I had no issues with pain or pressure on my head or ears and felt that the padding was good for the design. The main issue I had with this headset was using across multiple platforms. I primarily game using the Playstation 4 and Nintendo Switch consoles. I also occasionally use mobile devices for gaming. While the functionality of the Playstation 4 and mobile device market makes this headset easy to use (with a 3.5 mm cable), the Nintendo Switch is another story. In handheld mode, the Nintendo Switch device works fine with this headset for gaming audio. However, syncing with the Nintendo Online service app via your phone renders native voice chat useless. This is a Nintendo, not Logitech issue. But still nonetheless, voice chat while listening to gameplay is not possible. Using the headset while the Nintendo Switch is in docked mode is also not practical, as there is no 3.5 mm audio port on any current Nintendo controllers. So unless your Nintendo Switch device is within 3-5 feet of you, it isn't worth using.
Overall, my experience with this device was great on the Playstation 4 and mobile device platforms, while adequate to poor on the Nintendo Switch. If in the market for a gaming headset, I would purchase this device provided the platform I game on has functionality conducive to its use.

Great setup, mobile app needs work

The Max-Stream MR8300 tri-band router with the addition of a Velop node (AC2200) gives you the ability to utilize mesh networking by placing what are essentially WiFi repeaters throughout your house, this is especially useful in large homes. You can also add other AC2200 repeaters for additional coverage. Given that this is a Triband router with MU-MIMO (Multi-User Multiple-Input Multiple-Output) it essentially opens up dedicated multiple channels to your devices. This is essential for streaming multimedia Including HD & 4K content. As for the router itself it has the standard gigabit ports (4) plus one for connecting your modem. It also has a USB 3.0 port which makes it easy to create a mini network attached storage. I did not utilize this feature, but have on other Linksys routers in the past.
The only real downside is you need to utilize the Linksys mobile app to setup and configure the router. I much prefer to use a browser based interface for configuration purposes.

this Bluetooth speaker looks very similar to one I have from a high end speaker, now mainstream brand. The unit looks like a small lantern (unfortunately without a handle) wrapped in a black fabric. As for the sound, at this price point it isn't bad, but not the best either. As with every other speaker of this type you can download the companion application for the unit, which can control sound profiles (really needed) to be able to squeeze out the best sound. The unit comes with the usual controls and LED indicators, On top are some of the controls including a single play/pause button that serves multiple functions, volume up and down buttons and a light control button. This unit has a LED ring that illuminates various colors while playing music, I'm sure the target demo for this speaker would love the lighting effects. As I mentioned before the sound leaves a little to be desired, there is enough volume, just not enough detail.

this finger grip - kickstand serves a similar function as does the round pop up/out versions you usually see on the backs of phones. This one is pretty unique in that it is basically flat and thus does not add enough width to your phone to interfere with wireless charging if you device has that capability. I find it pretty useful, the finger grip protrudes from the unit when you slide the flexible plastic, kind of forming a small hook, which you can then use to hold your phone with one finger or place it on a flat surface to provide a small incline allowing you to view your phone's screen more easily.

This is my first foray into dash cameras, the Rexing V1P Plus Front and Rear Camera Dash Cam is a fairly compact unit with most of the hardware included to permanently mount the cameras. Included is the front facing camera (main unit) and a smaller remote camera that can be placed on the rear of the vehicle. Setup is fairly easy with configurable settings for video resolution, car tag name, time/date, dual recording, overwrite and other items. The screen is serviceable; however, I found no use for it to be on other that when first starting up the vehicle and configuring the unit. The unit powers on automatically when plugged into a lighter outlet if provided switched power when the vehicle is started, if you have a outlet that always supplies power the auto on and off feature will not work. There is also a “shock” sensor which places the video on a directory outside of the normal recording directory which is created on your micro SD card, ensuring that if you are in an accident the video will move to a directory which will not be overwritten. The unit also came with a 32GB micro SD card and SD card adapter.
As for recording, the quality is pretty good, both day and night (even though I hadn’t removed the plastic film that protects the lens during shipping). The lens provides a wide range of view, sort of a fisheye lens but less concave and distorted. Colors are represented well and there are configurable settings for video and still resolution capture, sound recording on/off and white balance along with a whole bunch of other settings. Impressed by number and how granular the settings are.
This model does not include a GPS sensor, although you can purchase one and plug it into the unit so GPS position is recorded. I did not install the rear camera as it is wired and you will quickly wind up with a “harness” like bundle of wires to attempt to hide (Power, rear camera, GPS sensor) which would become unsightly quickly.
Overall this is a pretty good unit, with a lot of capabilities, configurable options and features.
