Good product for the "OK Google" sect.

We replaced our Gen 1 Amazon Echo with this product and the experience has been interesting. We are an Android family and I though that we would prefer the Google product. However, while the unit was pretty easy to install and plays the digital-personal-assistant role pretty well, we did find it lacking in certain areas.
First of all, I was surprised that I preferred the sound quality of our Echo. I have always had a high regard for the SONY brand and was expecting it to be the clear winner. We particularly noticed that with music, which we used quite frequently. Additionally we both felt like the Echo did a superior job recognizing our voices when the ambient noise level was a little elevated. Finally, the digital voice sounded more natural on the Echo.
The Google Voice Assistant did seem to be better able at answering some questions that the Echo could only reply with "Hmmm, I don't know about that". I also appreciated the digital clock on the face of the speaker. On the other hand, I found the no-touch, hand gesture controls to be a bit of a gimmick. We also preferred the Echo's app to Google's.
Another thing to be aware of is that if you have an Android cellphone around be aware that when you say "OK Google" that both your phone and this product will come to life. Makes sense but we didn't think of it until it actually happened. There is an easy work around - just address your SONY Smart Speaker with "Hey Google" instead.
In summary, this is a capable product and some may prefer this unit's aesthetic or perhaps the SONY name to Amazon's offer. But with the Gen 2 Echo now available a little comparison shopping might be in order.

What the heck is a Kitchen "System" anyway? Well, are you tired of having to keep track of separate appliances for blending, spiral cutting, mixing blended drinks and smoothies, and even making dough? Tired of having to stand in front of your blender and pulse, pause, push the ingredients back down to the blades and repeat? Well, you are going to love this Ninja Intelli-Sense appliance!
Like all Shark/Ninja products the packaging is exemplary. Each component and part (and there are MANY) is individually wrapped and packed in Styrofoam cutouts to make sure everything arrives intact. There is some assembly required but it is pretty intuitive.
The idea here is to have one beast of a motor that accepts multiple, specialized, containers with the appropriate built in blades. You simply choose the appropriate vessel and lock it onto the base with a very secure twist.
Then the magic begins! The base recognizes the container and the front panel lights up with only the appropriate actions for that attachment! Let's say you want to make a smoothie - you can choose the travel mug sized blender container, insert your preferred ingredients, snap it onto the base and watch the display. One of the options will be to blend a drink. When you choose any option it launches a specific program of pulses and pauses with varying speeds. Supposedly these are designed "recipes" developed by Shark and professional chefs. All I know is that it works and it allows me to press a button and walk away. Blending will stop automatically when the task is done!
One of the issues about having such a comprehensive appliance is that you may struggle to figure out how to store all of the bits and bobs that are available. We're still working on a solution to keep all of the pieces organized and easy to find!
A definite upside is that everything disassembles easily and makes clean up a lot simpler.
We learn new things about our Kitchen System every time we use it and it really is fun to experiment. I highly recommend you take a look at the Intelli-Sense Kitchen system!

The folks at Shark are simply amazing! Their ION Robot 750 vacuum is the latest in a series of well crafted, excellently packaged and presented products!
This is our first robotic device and I was skeptical to say the least. Small, light weight, but well built, I didn't think it could be anything more than a novelty but it turned out to be a fairly handy appliance.
As with all Shark/Ninja products the unpacking experience is a pure pleasure. Everything is well protected and the inside-the-box labeling is excellent. We had "Rover" unpacked, assembled and charging on his dock within 10 minutes. When he was fully juiced we just pressed the "Clean" button and he was off to work. The family sat in the living room and watched him navigate his way around obstacles and over different surfaces, textures, and heights. The unit is really good at avoiding obstacles and is very quiet in operation. We did manage to get him stuck under furniture a couple of times but there is a special "tape" in the box that you can use to define "no fly zones".
The most amazing part for me was watching him navigate his way back to his charging dock. I'm still not sure how he does that!
Next we downloaded the app on one of our Android smartphones and found it to be easy to install and use. You will need WiFi in order to communicate between the phone and the robot but once installed and connected you gain a bunch of additional functionality. For instance you can specify the time of day and duration for vacuuming and you can even control his functions manually from the app.
On the downside, don't buy this expecting it to replace your regular vacuum cleaner. It is much lighter than a full sized vacuum and the brushes can't really get the deep-down stuff from your carpet. Also, as you would expect, the dust bin is pretty small and can fill up pretty fast. Still, as a "spot cleaning" tool it may help you reduce the number of times that you have to dig out the big vacuum.
In summary - the ION fits a niche that you may appreciate and deserves a look.

Work through the day with this Dell laptop. It includes an Intel Core i7 processor and 12GB of RAM so that tasks are accomplished quickly and easily, and a 2TB hard drive lets you store all your data even when you have no Internet connection. A powerful 42Wh battery keeps this Dell laptop working throughout the day.

The Dell Inspiron 2-in-1 laptop is a heavyweight contender in the premium laptop space - figuratively and literally!
The first thing that you notice when you unpack this thing is how much it weighs. I have been spoiled lately by SSD based, ultra-thin laptops and this thing is NOT that kind of experience. On the other hand - no SSD based system that I have seen offers an affordable 2TB of storage and 12GB of RAM that the Inspiron does. The unit boasts a very nice, large, bright touchscreen. And it offers a convertible design too so that you can "tent" the display which is extremely handy for presentations or watching videos.
Coupling all that RAM with an i7 processor I was expecting screaming performance but I must confess that I found the experience to be good - not great. Perhaps some of this can be expected given that the unit has to rely on spinning media to get 2TB of storage at any kind of reasonable price.
As a portable desktop I think the Dell deserves serious consideration. As a traveler's laptop however you owe it to yourself to look around.

Bose does it again! The QC35 Wireless Headphones are a winner! They are well packaged and everything you might need is included in the box along with a sturdy, protective travel case. If there is any complaint about the unboxing experience it might be that the documentation is a little sparse. But, once you download the app everything you need is pretty much there.
Pairing our devices via Bluetooth was rapid and without problems. I was able to connect to two different brands of Android phones as well as to my Samsung tablet. And the sound quality? Outstanding! The noise cancellation is very effective and the over-ear fit is comfortable.
The controls for interacting with the phone worked very well. They are a little subtle and may take a little practice to operate but didn't cause any problems.
If you are looking for a quality set of wireless cans be sure to give these a try!

Decent product, balky app!

The DLink Omna 180 security camera is a small, stylish cylinder that offers a twist. Specifically, the camera offers a 180 degree view without too much fisheye distortion. It also offers audio monitoring and motion detection. It can support an SD card for recording as well.
My number one complaint is DLink's app. Similar to their app for managing their smart electrical plugins, this thing can be a pain in the a** to download, install, login and bind to the camera. It took multiple tries to get through this process and when it finally did work it was still claiming to have failed! If you can control the urge to throw your phone across the room, once installed the app does offer some decent features. My favorite is the ability to pinch and zoom the image. The image quality is good enough to still give you a very decent picture even when zoomed in. Audio quality is decent although I noticed a significant lag. Also, if you have the motion detection turned on (you can disable it through the app) prepare to have your phone blow up with a constant stream of notifications. This is NOT an indictment of the feature - just be aware of the environment in which you intend to place the camera!
In summary, the camera is small, sleek and unobtrusive with good image quality but the supporting application needs work.

I realize that many people will believe that this product is a cynical attempt to pump up Amazon's profits, and I'm sure it contributes, but don't deny yourself the serious fun this device will bring into your home!
We originally bought this as a gift for my seeing-impaired mother-in-law in order for her to enjoy trivia, music and audio books with a hands-free interface. We didn't anticipate enjoying it ourselves so much that I'm not sure we're going to be willing to let it go!!!
Setup is dead simple if you already have an Amazon Prime account and wireless Internet access. The audio quality and the unit's ability to cut through ambient noise in order to hear you are remarkable. The device is solidly built and has several nice ergonomic touches such as the rotating, color changing ring of lights that let you know you are being heard to the rotating volume ring at the top of the unit.
It is amazing what the Echo can do. I'll leave the voyage of discovery up to each of you. Do get used to hearing "Hmmm, I'm not sure about that" or "I'm still learning about...." but I am certain that the Echo's cloud based "brain" will only get better with time.
Do yourself a favor and get one of these, the whole family will enjoy it!

This blender is a replacement for my 15 year old GE model which has finally started to fall apart.
The first thing that you are going to notice is that the Vitamix is a beast! It is large and heavy and has a motor that just won't quit. I really like the controls - they are minimal and pretty intuitive. The carafe is generously sized and the lid is cleverly designed.
The downsides - the blades are integrated with the carafe and cannot be removed. This can make clean-up a little more difficult but also assures that you aren't going to spring a leak! Also, the lid fits pretty tightly and has a pair of rubber hooks that engage to give a VERY tight fit. The same is true of the "port" in the lid that you use to add ingredients while blending or to insert the stirring rod. My wife actually has difficulty getting the lid to come off at times.
We also encountered a frequent need to "burp" whatever we were blending as the unit easily gets air trapped around the blades and that causes the ingredients to cease circulating.
We really haven't found anything that this unit cannot grind up and the motor is smooth and fast; no lack of power here.
In summary, the Vitamix feels more like a professional design than a consumer unit and in this age of lightweight, flimsy designs is a welcome addition to our kitchen.

Perfect appliance for your apartment or dorm room

First things first - this product is NOT a replacement for a microwave oven. What it does offer is the benefits of a convection oven in a compact and thoughtful package.
As such, it is very well suited to providing you with the frying experience without the additional oil, smoke, splatter and mess. It provides a generous sized cooking basket and is easy to breakdown for cleaning. It doesn't require a ton of counter space. It is also the perfect solution for preparing a multitude of frozen food appetizers from chicken wings to taquitos.
The unit is solidly constructed (heavy) and moderately noisy when it runs (mostly fan noise). Pay attention to the warnings - parts of this sucker get HOT when you use it and they stay hot for quite awhile after use.
Overall, I feel that this would be the perfect companion for any apartment dweller, dorm room resident or anyone else who wants the benefit of convection cooking but has limited room.

Good sound but a few minor issues.

First the good news - this product is well built and packaged and comes with a variety of earbud tips in an attempt to make sure that you can get the optimal fit. The sound quality is good and the volume controls work well. The charging port is a little difficult to access due to the rubber waterproofing cover but once I got it all hooked up everything worked as advertised. Bluetooth syncing was quick and even boasts audio feedback while it completes. I was able to connect to both my wife's Samsung S4 phone and to my Samsung Tab S tablet.
Now the quibbles - we were never able to find a fit for my wife's ears that would provide both a tight fit (for external audio rejection) and that would stay seated in her ears. The included tips were either too big or would not stay in her ear canal. To be fair, she has problems with most earbuds although my Skullcandy earbuds do seem to work for both of us.
Also - we were never able to get the telephone controls to work properly to allow us to answer an incoming call. Maybe the S4 is too old? Didn't have anything else handy to try it on.
To end on a positive note - I have had a devil of a time trying to get wired earbuds that are a good match with my Tab S. I think it is an impedance mismatch but it is very frustrating. The JLab Audio being bluetooth solved my problem and so will find a place in my travel bag.
Now the quibbles - we were never able to find a fit for my wife's ears that would provide both a tight fit (for external audio rejection) and that would stay seated in her ears. The included tips were either too big or would not stay in her ear canal. To be fair, she has problems with most earbuds although my Skullcandy earbuds do seem to work for both of us.
Also - we were never able to get the telephone controls to work properly to allow us to answer an incoming call. Maybe the S4 is too old? Didn't have anything else handy to try it on.
To end on a positive note - I have had a devil of a time trying to get wired earbuds that are a good match with my Tab S. I think it is an impedance mismatch but it is very frustrating. The JLab Audio being bluetooth solved my problem and so will find a place in my travel bag.

There is no mic stand included. There is a mic mount that follows the familiar U shaped broadcast format. It has both a standard thread and an adapter for smaller mount points.

The unit has Wi-Fi built in. It connected to my 2.4Ghz network without any issues. No special bridging hardware was needed.

How to Recharge battery and what type for？ Is there a charging stand need to buy?
The battery is easily removable and has a mini-usb style charging port. I believe it is Lithium Ion and no separate charging stand is needed.

what are the dimensions of the keypad side? my front door has some designs on it that might be in the way of the keypad.

Does the bolt come out on the right side or the left? My door opens to the left, so I need it to come out on the right side of the outside piece.
The design allows for both right hand and left hand doors. The bolt is notated with an "up" stamp and the mechanism has a locking knob that has emblems on both sides of the interior panel so that you can twist it either clockwise or counter-clockwise to work the bolt.
