A nice upgrade with a charger travel case

I have been a fan of Philip toothcare products and have owned 3 Sonicare brushes over the last 8 years. So naturally, I was wanted to see what additional technology was added from my current 9300 series.
I never download the app before, but I figured I would give it a try. The Sonicare DiamondClean Smart 9700 was recognized quickly and was able to log my brushing technique. The only valuable thing I liked about the app was that it alerted when I was brushing too quickly. However, the app could be useful to determine if my kids are brushing twice a day.
Just like my older model, I liked everything about this toothbrush. It cleaned well, the charge should last about 2 weeks, the toothbrush alerted with lights on the bottom when you brush too hard, and it had multiple settings for different kinds of cleaning. I liked that this model included 6 different toothbrush heads and a tongue cleaner.
The 9700 series added a charging cable on the travel case which is nice for long trips. However, I would like for the cable to be USB-C or include an adapter since my newer laptops do not have USB-A.
I would recommend this Philip Sonicare DiamondClean Smart 9700 toothbrush. The added tongue cleaner option is a tiny addition, but the real value is the added included toothbrush heads and the charging travel case.

Perfect for Personal Temperature Control

This is my first personal air conditioner and I was eager to try out this Torras COOLiFY Cyber unit.
App setup was easy and the Cyber was ready to go after a quick charge and a power button press (not hold). Even though you can control the device directly, I found changing the settings using the app made the user experience the best. I was able to visually change each setting and modify the heat and fan/cooling effects separately for the back and sides of the device. You can even turn the Cyber on and off using the app. I liked how Torras chose to focus on using this device for temperature control and did not focus on other unnecessary options.
I was surprised by how fast this wearable air conditioner switched from heating to cooling and back. The fan is pretty quiet at low speeds, but can make it hard to hear past 50%. I can see this being great for use during hot weather, but don’t expect it to perform great in 100-plus degree weather while in the sun. I can imagine this best used for outdoor sporting events while in the shade or a crowded room without air conditioning.
While wearing, I noticed the fit was pretty good and it didn’t feel too tight. Even during quick movements, the Cyber stayed in place.
Battery life was pretty good at low speeds, but diminished quickly at higher percentages. I was, however, able to charge and use it at the same time.

This is the Gaming Laptop to Get

I currently own a 14-inch ROG Zephyrus system from 2022 and have been pleased with its reliability. It still seems pretty fast, but prefer to have a 15 or 16-inch laptop for game play. So, naturally I was seeking out this ROG Zephyrus 16-inch laptop.
Setup
At this point, all setups are easy. About all companies have figured out how to streamline the process of transferring from an old system to the new one. I was surprised by how many updates this laptop required before it was ready to use, but this was not necessarily a bad thing. However, I would plan on it taking some time to get things up and running.

Most computer companies pre-install bloatware. However, I was incredibility impressed that ASUS chose to focus on the user experience instead. This allowed me to jump right into installing the programs I wanted versus uninstalling things I did not want.

I liked how ASUS did not include as much lighting effects and focused on the performance. This system was so fast it easily ran any game/program I wanted without compromise. This laptop can easily compete with many gaming desktops.

This is one of the best displays I have seen. I am sure it is due to the OLED, but I can’t emphasize how awesome the picture is.

The keyboard felt great to type on. The typing felt natural and is one of the best keyboards I have used. I would have liked to have a number pad, but that would have limited the size of the speakers.

The mousepad is spacious and responsive. I normally use a separate mouse, but I was comfortable with using it for just about every task except gaming.

The sound is amazing and loud. This is the best sounding laptop I have owned. I have not tried the sound isolating features yet on a zoom-like call, so I cannot give an opinion on it.

I would highly recommend this laptop. It is perfect for gaming, and can be used for work since it is not over-the-top with lighting and effects. Normally I include pros and cons, but I could not find any cons with this incredible laptop.

Great Sound for Open-Ear Headphones and Small Ears

I have different needs for headsets depending on what listening or speaking experience I am seeking. When I need to be aware of my surroundings but am not in a loud environment, I prefer to use open-ear style headphones. Thus, I was eager to try out Ultra Open Earbuds by Bose.
I like open-ear style headphones for conference calls or while on calls in my car, but have been unhappy with the lack of fullness when listening to music and that bass is almost non-existent. However, with these Ultra Open Earbuds, I was pleasantly surprised with how much bass there was. The immersive audio experience was one of the best of all of my headphones, and the best of my open-ear style headphones. Unfortunately the battery life was diminished when the immersive audio was active, and environmental noise had a greater impact on hearing music.
I like that Bose chose to use physical button controls, since many of the touch controls on headphones are not very responsive. The ear cuff design is comfortable and was great to wear for long periods of time. These would be great for anyone with small ears where earbuds may not fit or cause a lot of pressure and pain (see photos).
The biggest negatives of this headset are an odd resonance sound heard by the phone call receivers and no multi-source use for Bluetooth to date. A few people I spoke with on the phone reported my voice was clear but had an odd, echoey sound, as if I was in an empty room.
I would use a different design if I were looking for audiophile sound, wanted crystal clear calls on both ends, or was in a noisy environment.

Great Versatile Fan for Both Indoors & Outdoors

I have a few personal battery-operated fans, but was looking for something larger to take on camping trips this summer. I have been pleased with the quality of Shark products and was eager to try this versatile fan out.
This Shark FlexBreeze fan uses a tunnel design to direct air flow in which I was able to feel a strong breeze from over 40 feet away on medium speed. Even though this fan is powerful, the decibels ranged from 40 at low speed to 62 at the highest setting from 3 feet away. To give a better idea of how quiet this fan was, a normal conversation is normally over 65 decibels.
I was pleasantly surprised that shark was able to design the tilt of this fan to operate smoothly without the unpleasant clicking sound from most pedestal fans. In fact, every feature on this fan seemed to be well engineered. However, I would have liked a percentage battery remain instead of the 5 different color indication levels.
The lowest power setting lasts over 20 hours on battery, but there is not much breeze at that speed. I would expect about 8 hours of battery use at medium speed, but have not tested it yet since it is still winter.
The only feature I have not tried yet, due to the cold weather, was the misting attachment. I like how the attachment easily magnetically attached to the front of the fan and there was a nice clip to hold the hose securely to the fan pedestal.

Awesome Earbuds for Music, Not Great for Calls

I have owned a lot of earbuds and have been impressed with the improvements in battery life, ANC (active noise cancellation), sound, and call quality. I own 3 pairs of $350+ earbuds and was curious how well the Devialet Gemini II would compare.
I was impressed with the Gemini II while listening to music – it sounded great on the highs, mids, and bass. The bass especially sounded amazingly balanced, unlike other competitors, which use the bass to overcompensate for other sounds. I was able to hear additional acoustics within music, which is normally absent with other earbuds.
The app is simple and includes just the right number of features. The most unique feature is the ability to balance the sound between the left and right ear buds.

ANC on – Call quality sounds good, but not great. My voice did not sound as clear as competitors.
ANC off – Call quality sounds about the same as ANC on, but a little less muffled.
Music ANC on/off– I was very happy with the sound. Gemini II has been successful at having consistent clarity at all wavelengths of sound. I was amazed that I could hear varied ambient sounds in the music, which I haven’t experienced with competitors’ earbuds.

CameraConnect App Makes this Camera Good, for Some

This is my first mirrorless camera in several years; as such, I was curious to see how much digital cameras have advanced, even with an entry-level model like this one.
The first thing I noticed off the bat was that this model does not have an articulating LCD touchscreen. This surprised me, as I assumed this would be standard on most DSLRs. However, the screen itself is large and clear as also with the view finder. The camera also had a responsive autofocus mode, and the 4K resolution was impressive. For this level of camera, I also noticed good image tracking. Unfortunately, the 6.5 frames per second shooting seemed sluggish and selective tracking was difficult.

Once I tried out the app, I found that it made up for the lack of articulating touchscreen. There were many features in the app that made this camera seem like a good starter option for podcasting. Overall, I would recommend this model as a decent starter camera for a podcaster or family, but I feel that other users might benefit from spending a little extra money for upgraded features.

Future-Proof Dash Cam But With A Monthly Cost

I have owned a few dash cameras, but I wanted one that would send me alerts when something was happening to my car and also did not rely on an internal battery. Therefore, I was curious to see if the Nextbase iQ 4K Smart dashcam would meet these needs.
Setup was easy, but I did have a hard time scanning the QR code on the camera screen with my iPhone 13 pro. I would recommend getting a good idea of where to place the camera before taking off the film from VHB tape on the speaker’s back. The camera can adjust back and forth, but make sure that it’s vertical before sticking it to the windshield, since it does not adjust side to side or up and down. It needs to be connected to the car’s battery using the OBD connector or the fuse box to power the camera. It is worth noting that the OBD connector does not contain a passthrough, so the camera would need to be disconnected if the OBD connector is needed.
Video/Voice features
I was pretty happy with how clear the video feed was for both the front- and cabin-facing camera. I tried the voice features, and the camera was responsive to my commands. Since I work in a retail setting, I had to set the proximity sensors for the Smart Sense Parking closer to the vehicle because otherwise I was getting a lot of notifications. It is pretty easy to adjust, but I would like for a GPS setting to determine how the sensors send alerts. I did not experience any issues with this camera draining my car’s battery since it has a feature to prevent this, but I would like for the camera to provide feedback on the health of my car’s battery and warn me if it detects an issue.
All the features of this camera performed well, but the Roadwatch AI and Guardian Mode were not active as of this review.

Awesome Smart Sunglasses - Amazing Sound & Camera

I own the Ray-Ban Stories and have been pretty happy with them. Naturally, I was excited to see how the Ray-Ban Meta sunglasses would improve upon the previous generation of smart sunglasses.
Set up was easy since all I had to do was follow the app’s directions. After a quick update, I was ready to give these sunglasses a trial run. I was pleasantly surprised that the sunglasses connected to my phone within seconds after taking them out of the case.
Sound/music
I noticed the Ray-Ban Meta really improved upon the quality of the speakers. They were quite a bit louder, with the sound crisper and clearer than the previous version. These can control Spotify, but have limited functions with other third party music apps. I was able to play, pause, fastforward, and rewind, but was not able to request a specific song from Apple Music.
Calls
The calls sounded great and I could hear the caller very well. The caller stated that I sounded very clear and natural. I tried to imitate the sound of wind to see how the call performed in a windy environment, but either the glasses did really well or I did not generate enough noise!
Pictures/Videos
The Ray-Ban Meta version has made some great improvements on photo quality. The images are clear and seem to be zoomed in more than the previous version's pictures. In addition, videos also looked and sounded great.

If you are looking for a great pair of smart sunglasses, then I would recommend the Ray-Ban Meta. I thought the previous version was pretty good, but I think these are great.

Great Affordable VR Headset

This is my first experience with VR, so naturally I was excited to try the Meta Quest 3.
Setup and fit
Setup and account creation was straightforward, so I will skip this topic. I have heard multiple reports of the headband putting a lot of pressure on the forehead and on the top of the ears, but I did not have these issues. I thought the headset was pretty comfortable and was easy to adjust, but I had a hard time getting a good fit for my 10-year-old son.

Images/mixed reality
I was amazed by the realistic images in games such as First Encounters, Fruit Ninja 2 and Meta Horizon Worlds. As for the passthrough feature, the real-life image was not perfect, but it was pretty amazing for this price point. I would like to commend Meta for adding a quick 2 taps on the side of the headset activate this feature. The panels used in the headset are LED, but I felt the blacks were dark enough to satisfy my needs.
Controls
I was impressed with the controller’s accuracy. They were very responsive and did not lag behind any of my movements. I even liked how well the hand tracking works (without using the controllers), but there was a learning curve to make it work effectively.
Battery life
According to Meta, the battery life can last from about 1.5 up to 2.9 hours depending on the activity. I was not able to get over 2 hours of use with a mix of activities, which included casting to my phone. This is not an unreasonable amount of time, but I was hoping for about 2.5 hours.
GB size consideration
There are only two sizes offered, 128 GB and 512GB, with about 18 GB already used by the system software. Games can range from less than 1 GB, but many are 6 to 12 GB plus in size. So, if you choose to get the 128 GB version, plan to only store about 10 to 20 games at a time.

I would definitely recommend this Meta Quest 3 VR headset. The graphics are amazing, the responsiveness is perfect, and to be ability to quickly “see” your surroundings without removing the headset makes it the perfect VR headset. The biggest drawback is for the 128 GB version since space will likely become a factor due to increasing game sizes.
I would recommend this to a friend!

Are you able to put your eye prescription on the frames?
You can have prescription lenses installed. However, you must have Ray-Ban install the lenses for the warranty to remain valid (per Ray-Ban website).

There is no need for a dimmer for this unit. The app allows you to dim the light without the need for a switch.

what does the medium size mean? for heights 5'4 - 6'3?
If your height is between 5 foot 4 inches and 6 foot 3 inches, then the medium boots should be the correct size. If the boot size is too small, the compression will not reach the upper thigh. If too long, then I would imagine the boot would push down on the feet and pushing too high on the inner thigh.

If your furniture is about 3" high, then you can go about a foot deep. If the bed is about 6" high, then you can go about 3' deep.

When using the charging case to obtain a wired signal such as PC or a laptop, is the internal microphone still operative?
Your question is awesome and made me want to find out. To test, I made a Duo call to my wife using my laptop. I thought disabling my laptop's mic would cause no sound to be transmitted, so I kept it active and walked 30 feet away from my computer into another room. I could hear my wife fine, but she could not hear me. So, in this test, I can conclude the mic on these earbuds do not work while there is an active Bluetooth connection with the charging case.

The question prior was asked if this is for a pair of dumbbells. An individual stated they reached the company and was for a set. Does that mean a set is a pair? Or a set is individual dumbbell set? Please clarify. The website is poorly written.
You receive two complete dumbells (two dumbbells which BOTH have up to 50lbs each). The box it came in weighed over 100lbs. I hope this makes it clear.

Will the dumbells function if there's a power failure with battery depletion?
If for some reason you had a blackout and the base was depleted, then there would be no way for the base to move the inner rod of the dumbbell. You could still use whatever weight was already selected before the depletion and power outage. To be honest, I would not think this should be a concern. If I ran into this situation, I would just hook up the base to a laptop or powerbank to keep the workout going.

Do these take internet?
The dumbbells do not require the internet and connect via Bluetooth via the app on a phone or tablet. If you wanted to do a live training session, your phone or tablet would need to have internet.
