Great GPS with a Couple Quirks

I just came back from a camping trip where I was unable to use Google Maps or Waze if I didn’t have cell phone coverage. I wish I had this GPS device to help navigate the rural areas we were in.
Setup was straightforward and easy. I liked the large size of the screen and how the large size did not interfere with my line of sight while driving. It was really genius of TOMTOM to include Combustion, Electric, and Hybrid options – as well as the type of gas needed – in the setup to personalize the device to the user.
I was really impressed with the load speed of this GPS unit and that TOMTOM allows the maps to be updated via Wi-Fi. I found the gas prices to be accurate, and it was helpful when it gave plenty of notice of an upcoming gas station. However, I noticed not all gas stations listed a price. One surprising thing I noticed was a full-scale model of a local church on the map (see photo).
I was disappointed when the unit directed me to take a connecting road to my destination, which actually never existed (see photo). Similarly, I later noticed that a road near my house which hasn’t existed for years actually showed on the GPS map. I was also disappointed that a dash mount was not included instead of a windshield mount. Lastly, I was expecting the voice controls to work like other voice activated software, but this GPS only recognized certain phrases or words and it took a few tries to get it to respond to the correct commands.

Even with all the phone navigation apps that exist, I found this GPS handy in a few specific situations and liked that it did not require the phone screen to provide directions. I would mostly recommend this GPS for travelers and customers who live in remote and/or bad cell coverage areas.

Voice Clarity and Great Sound for Main TV

I have been looking for a replacement for my wall-mounted speakers and wanted a cleaner look for my living room. I noticed this system had a wireless subwoofer and had a smaller footprint than my current one, which had a little too much bass for watching TV.
Set up was easy, but I realized the soundbar required the use of the HDMI eARC connection, which meant I could not use my receiver to connect my other peripheral to the TV. I have an original Nintendo and used the receiver to update the connection to a HDMI connection. I will be looking for an alternative way to connect now.
I did have a small issue trying to add the speaker to Google home, but after a couple tries, it was able to be added. After the connection was established, I noticed the speaker automatically received an update. This system also has multiple streaming and connection options, basically any connection you can imagine.
The sound is not as robust as my wired speakers via a receiver, but the sound was much clearer and I was able to hear dialogue on movies and TV shows, which I had a difficult time with before. I also noticed the sound filled the room more evenly than my old setup did. This is definitely a winner for sound from a frequently watched TV.

I would highly recommend this system for anyone who has a difficult time hearing clear conversations in films and shows and finds themselves rewinding a scene or turning on closed captioning. This soundbar/subwoofer combo is meant for frequent use and is more appropriate for a main TV, not a theater room.

Lightweight, But Needs Improvements

I have many Bluetooth earbuds and enjoy testing the latest versions, even the ones without active noise cancelling (ANC).
First impressions
I liked how Adidas used packaging that is easily recyclable, since I do my best to protect our environment. I also liked how these earbuds fit in most ears without the need for silicone ear gels. The look of the case and earbuds are a nice touch and are lightweight, but they unfortunately felt like lower grade plastic compared to competitors.
Use
I was able to quickly pair these earbuds with my phone, but was surprised to find there was no app to download that allowed customization of the sound quality or perform a firmware update. At first, I liked the silicon sleeve over the earbuds since it helped them feel more secure in my ear, but noticed they became a little uncomfortable after long term use due the slightly larger size. Another unfortunate experience I had with these earbuds was that they were easily dislodged from my ear and fell on the floor. These earbuds were able to get about 5 hours of use on a single charge; however, I did not try out the extra 20 hours with the case yet.
Sound
Even though I found the earbuds had a decent volume and I could hear well during a phone call, I was not impressed with the sound quality while listening to music. I felt like there was no defined highs or lows, and music sounded more mashed together than crisp and clean. Since these do not have ANC, I was not surprised that I was not able to have a phone call with all my windows down driving my car about 45 MPH.

Even though these may be a great fit for some people because of the features, low price, and ease of use, I would not recommend them. The main reason for this is that I have used a couple other earbuds within the same price range, and the sound was a lot better and included an app for personalization, which these do not.

Best Hybrid Watch With Amazing Battery Life

I have owned a few smartwatches, but some of them have features I have no interest in, and some don't look as professional as I would like. I was eager to try a smartwatch that is able to track vital health measures while also looking like a classic watch, versus something with a more athletic look.
I have used a smartwatch by Samsung and unfortunately it often had only enough battery life for about a day and a half. Even though it has enough apps that I can leave my phone behind, I find that I never actually do and I instead use the watch to alert me of a call or message. However, this is where this new watch shines - it has no unnecessary apps and thus I don't have to charge it for 30 days.
The app is a great complement to this watch. It allows you to monitor health features and even add additional items to monitor other factors.
The best feature that this watch provides over all other smartwatches, including the Apple Watch series 7, is the 30 days of battery life. The only con with this watch is the small information window. It could be a little larger, but that is a minor complaint compared to all that this watch offers.

Best Quality Sub-$2000 E-Bike

Since my review is so lengthy, I wanted to summarize the main pros and cons first. Since the Pros were so great and the Cons were more or less minor, this E-bike is a must for sub-$2000 budgets.

This is my first electric bike. I was looking for a bike that extended family members could use if they were on a ride with my family, as well as something that would make it easier to haul a bike trailer.
Assembly
There was no real need for assembly instructions, but the manufacturer has provided a couple of options for those in need of them: the manual, which was very clearly written and easy to follow, and an online video, which includes step-by-step instructions. It was simple to attach the saddle, pedals, front tire, and handles. I really liked that Aventon provided an all-in-one tool kit, which is especially beneficial for individuals who don’t already own the necessary tools. If all else fails, you could take it to a bike shop to help or check your work.

Performance
Due to our winter weather, I was unable to take the bike on a long distance ride. However, I was blown away by my first test ride. I was impressed with the power and speed of this bike. I went up a steep incline (about 40°) from a standing position and ended up going a little over 14 mph on pedal assist level 3. On a flat surface, I was able to get go over 31 mph, even though the bike advertises a limit of 28 mph. Using the throttle without pedaling, I was able to maintain a speed between 19 and 20 mph.
The only minor complaint I had about the pedal assist is that it doesn’t activate until you crank the pedal a couple of times, since this bike uses cadence sensors to activate pedal assist. For example, when I started a steep incline on a high gear, I had a hard time getting the pedal assist to activate. I felt for the price of this bike, the exclusion of a torque sensor was reasonable and I don’t think it’s necessary with a commuter bike, since it will likely not be used on a trail.
The included saddle (seat) was pretty comfortable, but I would upgrade it if you plan on long rides. I weigh 162 pounds and after more than 10 miles I could see where a wider/softer seat would be necessary.
The screen on the display is very informative and is very good quality. It shows the battery level (Energy Bar) as 10 bars and not just high, medium, and low. This layout allowed me to gauge how much battery life I still had, just as I do with a tank of gas in my vehicle. The display also shows speed, pedal assist level, and odometer with trip options. The display is very clear and the backlight is nice and bright for night riding. However, I did notice the brightness on the screen was a little too bright. I know you can access options to modify features on the display, but checked if the screen brightness can be modified.
I was impressed with how well the battery held a charge. I went on a 16-mile ride to test out this bike and used the various pedal assist levels and yet only used 2 of the 10 battery level bars.

Aventon performed a miracle by featuring high-end parts, ensuring clean welds, and including fenders, a rear-tire rack, and a LCD display with multiple battery bars, all while keeping the price affordable. If your budget is under $2000, this is the best E-bike you will find.

Great for Outdoors, Phone Calls, But Not Music

I own many Bluetooth headsets and even a Bose Frame, so naturally I was interested in giving Ray-Ban Story Smart Glasses a try.
Setup
Setup was extremely easy. I just downloaded the Facebook View app, signed into my Facebook account, and followed the on-screen directions.

I was impressed with many features of these smart glasses. For starters, the carrying case doubles as a battery and recharges the glasses while not in use, preventing a dead battery. In addition, being able to take a photo or video with a voice command is helpful. Lastly, Ray-Ban added a white light near the right camera to alert anyone around that you are recording. I also like the multiple controls used by touching or sliding the side of the arm to control music, etc.

I thought Ray-Ban did a great job using sound isolating technology, and the sound during phone calls is great. However, if you plan on using these to listen to music, you may be disappointed. The music lacked any bass and sounded tinny. I also noticed the glasses did not do a great job at directing the sound toward my ear, as people nearby could hear the music.

If you want to have a great pair of shades, a decent phone call on both ends, and the convenience of capturing a moment on video/photo with your voice or a quick button push, then these glasses are definitely for you. If you are planning on replacing a pair of earbuds to listen to music, however, these many not fit that need.

Great Workout Earbuds

I enjoy trying out all the latest Bluetooth wireless headsets and was looking forward to reviewing these.
Setup was simple, since my iPhone identified the earbuds while still in the case. With just a simple tap, they were ready to go.
While the fit was secure and comfortable, I did find that the bass was not as pronounced as other manufacturer’s earbuds. I thought I could just adjust some settings, but was unable to locate any equalizer. I found that the spatial setting helped compensate for the lack of rich sound, but I would have liked to have more control over my listening experience. The coolest feature of these earbuds was the “Head Tracked” spatialized option. With the feature turned on, the sounds mimic stationary speakers and provide a unique listening experience when you turn your head. I didn’t think that the ANC (active noise cancellation) was as great as competing products, and did not notice much of a difference between ANC, transparency, or off.
Even though these were not the most comfortable earbuds I have used, they struck a nice balance between comfort and securely staying put. A secure fit is important for running. I have had other brands of earbuds where I felt like I needed to keep adjusting the buds to stay in place; this affected the quality of the run.
I tried eating while listening to music and they still felt pretty comfortable, without causing much discomfort in my ears.

Great Wearable Device

I already own a GoPro and even though I like it, the size prevents me from wearing it on my chest. This camera is small enough, and since it includes added attachments via magnets, I was curious if I could wear this while running.
The setup was pretty easy since there is a QR code on the screen that you can scan with your phone, taking you to the required app. I did notice the instructions on the unit’s screen was in a foreign language, but it didn’t matter since I followed the setup after watching the given videos.
I was surprised by how many features it had for being such a small unit. I am an amateur user and most of the features worked well. However, I was not impressed with the picture quality under low light conditions. In addition, the camera seems to get pretty warm, but it did not seem to affect the quality of video, and I did not notice the warmth from the camera. One last criticism is that when I was wearing it outside in windy weather, the noise cancellation was not very effective.
There are many different ways to edit content on the app, which I believe is on par with the competition. I was surprised there was no way to replace the battery. You can add a power module, but they are a little pricey at $75.

Great Streaming/App Device

I currently own a 1st generation Chromecast and was looking for a unit which would add a way to use apps to my projector for watching movies instead of just streaming from another device. The TiVo Stream 4K seemed to be the answer.
The setup was simple. Just plug it in and follow the on-screen setup. I was able to set up my apps quickly by signing into my Gmail account. I then had access to all my apps I use on my regular TV and still have the ability to cast workout videos from my phone.
I would highly recommend this TiVo unit for anyone with and older TV or projector with either no smart TV function or if there are not many apps available. I am very happy with this streaming device.

Reliable Brand with WiFi 6 and Mesh Capabilities

I currently own an older model router, but lately it has been dropping connections, so I figured it was time for an upgrade.
Just like my other Linksys routers I have owned; this one was pretty easy to set up and get up and running. I plugged it in and was ready to get on-line again. I already have the app and am familiar with changing the passcode and setting, so naturally it was a breeze.
I like how this router has the capability to be included in a mesh network since I may have to use a second router since my house is over 2800 square feet. However, so far, I have not noticed any issues with a weak signal and may not need to complete this task.
My computer let me know I am now connected to a WiFi 6 router, but I haven’t really noticed a great deal of change other than not losing my internet connection.
It would be nice for a setup feature to somehow update all the connected devices from the old router to the new one. It is not that big of a deal, but would make switching routers a lot easier.

You can have prescription lenses installed. However, you must have Ray-Ban install the lenses for the warranty to remain valid (per Ray-Ban website).

what does the medium size mean? for heights 5'4 - 6'3?
If your height is between 5 foot 4 inches and 6 foot 3 inches, then the medium boots should be the correct size. If the boot size is too small, the compression will not reach the upper thigh. If too long, then I would imagine the boot would push down on the feet and pushing too high on the inner thigh.

When using the charging case to obtain a wired signal such as PC or a laptop, is the internal microphone still operative?
Your question is awesome and made me want to find out. To test, I made a Duo call to my wife using my laptop. I thought disabling my laptop's mic would cause no sound to be transmitted, so I kept it active and walked 30 feet away from my computer into another room. I could hear my wife fine, but she could not hear me. So, in this test, I can conclude the mic on these earbuds do not work while there is an active Bluetooth connection with the charging case.

The question prior was asked if this is for a pair of dumbbells. An individual stated they reached the company and was for a set. Does that mean a set is a pair? Or a set is individual dumbbell set? Please clarify. The website is poorly written.
You receive two complete dumbells (two dumbbells which BOTH have up to 50lbs each). The box it came in weighed over 100lbs. I hope this makes it clear.

Will the dumbells function if there's a power failure with battery depletion?
If for some reason you had a blackout and the base was depleted, then there would be no way for the base to move the inner rod of the dumbbell. You could still use whatever weight was already selected before the depletion and power outage. To be honest, I would not think this should be a concern. If I ran into this situation, I would just hook up the base to a laptop or powerbank to keep the workout going.

Do these take internet?
The dumbbells do not require the internet and connect via Bluetooth via the app on a phone or tablet. If you wanted to do a live training session, your phone or tablet would need to have internet.
