Great Quality TV Where It Counts

I decided to upgrade my bedroom TV with this 65-inch mini-LED panel from TCL since my old TV was pretty thick and took a long time to load apps.
Design
The TV seemed to have the exact same panel as a more expensive brand I own, which are both very nice. The TV seems about a half inch thicker than my other TV, but I didn’t find it significant. The only noticeable quality differences in the TVs was in the plastic used on the back panel. This TCL TV used a thinner, more pliable plastic where my other TV used a thicker, stiffer plastic. As for the remote, I liked the subtle backlit lighting which made it easier to locate the correct button when the lights were out.

Picture Quality
The image quality was identical to my other TV, which is phenomenal. The blacks were not a dark as an OLED TV, but I was happy with the picture since I need more light from the panel to offset the light from the windows. The screen did a great job at preventing the light, from part of the panel, from bleeding into other parts (halo effect).

Overall experience
The apps loaded quickly and you can stream from your Android based phone, Windows computer, or Airplay from Apple products. I tried Airplay and it worked flawlessly.

I would highly recommend this TV. The picture quality is comparative of much more expensive TVs and would not be surprised if the supplier of the panel was not the same. The only two negative things I found with this TV was the interfering “Hey Google” commands and the cheaper plastic which was used on the back. Neither of these issues would prevent me from seeking out another TCL TV in the future.

Best Clean My Floors Have Seen

I have used many types of mops/spray mops, but never felt like I was able to get the floor to a satisfactory clean. This was mostly due to using the same dirty mop pad or bucket of water to complete the cleaning. I was amazed about how clean my floors were after using this Mach V1 Ultra stick vac/steam mop.
Set-up was easy and I liked the videos on the website to learn how to use this vacuum. The vacuum does provide a voice prompt, but is hard to understand. The functions were straight forward except for the option to turn on JetBlade quick drying (hit the top button on the handle 3 times).
After retiling my kitchen backsplash, I had a lot of particles and mud smears on the hardwood floor. Also, it had been a while since I cleaned the area around my dog’s food bowl (see photo of before and after). I was amazed by how well the smart option cleaned, but was blown away by the cleaning ability of the steam. There is a bar on the display which indicates how dirty an area is and the progress to become clean. I took a photo of how much filth was removed in one cleaning (see photo). Even though the moping function may last 82 minutes, I used the steam function most of the time and was only able to get about 20 plus minutes before needing a recharge. The manufacturer states the battery life will last 15 minutes for continuous steam.
Cleaning was pretty easy as the vacuum guides you through the whole process. I made sure to empty the dirty water bin, clean it, and let it air dry before putting it back together. I also removed the magnetic clear plate and roller mop and removed any dried debris after the clean cycle is complete. So far, my vacuum smells as fresh as the day I first used it.
The only negative thing I could find with this product is that it cannot mop within about one and one-half inches next to the wall. I would like to see the company have an added wand to address the areas next to walls and cabinets.

I would highly recommend the Mach V1 Ultra. It provides the best clean I have seen on any type of hard floor and is fun to use.

Good Toaster Oven With Added Air Fryer Functions

I was intrigued by this product because it promised to unite two of my thoughts about small appliances: I have always appreciated the convenience of toaster ovens, and I've been curious about air fryers but have never owned one. With the GE 11-in-1, I could finally test out air frying without sacrificing additional kitchen counter space.
No installation was necessary; however, I could have downloaded the app, which provides recipes and allows for setting time, temperature, and other cooking options. (Note that even if you use the app to set options, you still must press the button on the oven to start it.) After running a break-in cycle, my first cooking experience with the oven was with chicken parmesan in air fryer mode. I was impressed with how quickly and thoroughly it cooked the chicken, and it was nice to not deal with the oil and grease from frying the chicken in a pan. The chicken was juicy, tender, and crispy, and even reheated pretty well.
As for other positive features, the musical note alerts are a nice change from the typical beeps of similar appliances. The oven's door opening is unique and functional - the door lifts up and the wire rack is partially ejected. In addition to the numerical timer, there is also a digital light bar display that shows the cooking progression. The app also provides pop-up notifications when your food is ready. Finally, I like that no preheating is necessary.
My previous toaster oven allowed for a 13-inch pizza pan; unfortunately, although this oven is wider, the depth is only 12 inches, so the pan won't fit. This seems to be an oversight. Another downside is that when I was toasting slices of bread back to back, the oven seemed to retain the heat from one cycle to the next, so the second slice of bread I toasted was a little overdone. In addition, the default toaster setting of 4 results in a pretty dark piece of toast.
In conclusion, I would recommend this oven to anyone looking for a conventional toaster oven but with the bonus functionality of an air fryer.

Nice Battery-Backup with Limited Outlet Room

We lose power about 5 or more times a year and wanted a battery backup to keep my Wi-Fi going during these times. I didn’t need a large battery backup, so I wanted to give this APC BN1050M a try.
APC includes software to help safely shut down a desktop during power outages. However, I did not test this feature since I only use laptops. This battery backup includes a silence button to turn off the annoying beeping during power outages. The display is also handy to see how much battery power is left. There is also a load indicator. However, since I was planning on using this to supply power for my modem, router and security cameras, I was not worried about this feature.
There were 4 battery-backup and surge protected outlets on one side of the unit with 4 surge protected outlets on the other side. I was disappointed that the outlets were not spaced out better. The power adapters for the router and modem overlapped the other two outlets. This was even more disappointing since I was unable to supply power for my security camera hub. The battery backup was estimated to last about 205-225 minutes while powering the router and modem.
I would recommend looking at your power adapters before purchasing this battery backup unit. For normal plug wires, this would be a great battery-powered backup.

Great Chainsaw - Get Second Battery

I already own a 40v 16” chainsaw, but notice it stalls out when I cut anything wider than 12 inches. I was wondering if this 80v Greenworks 18” chainsaw could handle larger trees.
My first impression of this chainsaw was that it looked pretty basic with mid-grade plastic. The battery charger was made of similar plastic, but I was impressed with the quality of the battery. During charging, I was surprised by the amount of noise coming from the charger, but realized the noise was coming from the fan for cooling during rapid charging. I was impressed with how quickly the battery charged.
I cut down a 20 inch diameter hardwood tree and was amazed with the power. The saw sliced through the trunk easily, and during the whole task only stalled slightly twice. My 40v chainsaw would have stalled many times and would have required 3 or 4 batteries. So naturally, I was impressed with this chainsaw’s performance. I noticed the branches (4 – 8”) did not use much battery, however the 20 plus inch trunk quickly drained the remaining battery after about 5 or 6 cuts. After recharging the battery, I was able to finish the job with 1 bar of power left. I would recommend purchasing a second battery or purchase additional outdoor tools to make sure you have enough uninterrupted battery life.
I left the saw with the bar and chain oil in the saw for a few days, and I was pleasantly surprised to find it does not leak like my other saw.

Other than the mid-grade plastics used, this is a high-quality and powerful chainsaw. This would be a great replacement for most tree felling tasks and would highly recommend it. However, I would like for this saw to come with two 4ah batteries or be part of a multitool purchase.

Great detector with a lot of app functions

Even though I do not speed very often, I do find myself going over the limit after exiting the highway. I have been using apps to help locate potential speed traps. However, I found many are not identified and a radar detector would have been welcomed. Escort is one of the top radar detector manufactures and I was excited to try the Escort Max 360 MKII out.
The detector first needed a firmware update which was easy to do. I was surprised that this detector still had a micro-USB connection for updates and a propriety connector during use. I would like to see Escort update this to use a single, multipurpose USB C port, but that is a minor complaint.
During the first few days, I noticed a lot of false Ka and K alerts. However, I noticed the radar would remember (stored) some of the problem areas and learned to ignore the false reading. I really liked the speed trap warning and location indicators since I can confirm many are accurate. I did have one incidence the radar detector did not give me a warning, but I was passing a police officer which had someone pulled over. It is possible that the radar gun was turned off during the stop, but I thought I should share the experience. I was hoping to test how quickly this radar detector can pick up a signal, but I did not have any way of testing this.
I was pretty happy with the Drive Smarter app. The app has a lot of additional features and can even alert me of upcoming speed checks from other people’s detectors (assuming they have a compatible detector and the app loaded).

Overall, I would recommend this radar detector. I like how this detector works great right out of the box, however has many customizable features. I just wish Escort would update the USB port and ditch the propriety charging cable.

Amazing Color Photos from a Laser Printer

I’ve always been told that laser jet printers could not compete with desk jets when it comes to image quality, as they are meant mostly for business. Thus, I was curious to test this Canon imageCLASS MF753Cdw printer and see how it compared with a higher-end desk jet from Epson.
Setup was easy due to the touch screen menus directing each step of the way. There was an option to print a scan sheet to optimize scan quality. Installing the computer drivers was likewise easy; however, compared to my desk jet where everything was automatic, this process required manual step-by-step participation. It is worth mentioning that Canon brilliantly placed a firmware update icon right in the menu folders. Many other printers bury this update in a hard-to-find location within the settings.

To test the print quality, I used a photo I took in the fall and printed it using the highest image quality setting possible and fitting the image to page. The laser jet produced a vivid image within seconds, while the desk jet took over half a minute to print. I used plain paper to print the photo, but the laser jet’s picture seemed to have almost a sheen to it, like it was printed on photo paper. The sky color was true to the actual photo, and the leaves were more defined. In contrast, the image produced by the desk jet was blurrier and washed out.
To test the scan quality, I scanned the same photo and compared it to the original. The scanned copy lost some of its vividness and looked more brown; however, the picture was still pretty impressive, as can be seen in my example.
Since I don’t have a phone line, I was unable to review the fax feature.
I was rather impressed with this unit’s print and scan quality and speed. In the future I hope that Canon can make scan send to a folder a little more user-friendly. I have no problem recommending this printer as a replacement for a desk jet.

Amazingly Small and Fast

For the past several years I have been using a 1TB disk hard drive to backup my computer. It has done its job, but it typically takes hours to complete a backup. In addition, the device is bulky and can be loud when activated. I was curious to see how this product compared.
I was pleased to see that the process which usually takes my older device hours only took 30 minutes for this device. It also completed the backup so quietly, I had turned my attention away from my computer and forgot that I was even backing it up. Accessing videos is much quicker than my old disk hard drive and saving edited files occurs almost immediately. The size is also quite small and easily portable. Another pro to this device is its rubber backing, which keeps it from being dropped. The case is designed with metal features that give it more heft than my old plastic, blocky external hard drive.
In short, I would recommend this device to anyone needing to back up an average-sized hard drive quickly and efficiently.

Great Bluetooth Transmitter/Receiver

I own a Bluetooth audio receiver, but I often found a need for an audio transmitter too. I did not want to have two separate devices, so I was pleased to try this out.
The pairing directions as a Bluetooth receiver and transmitter are the same, so it was pretty easy. The device itself looks like it is metal, but feels like mid-grade plastic. The button and switches are responsive, but they feel like the same plastic as the case. I was pleased to find a short 8-inch standard USB to USB C cable, 4-inch male-male 3.5mm cable, and a microfiber-like carrying case. I was pleasantly surprised to find both a USB C and lighting cable charging port. The charge advertised to lasts about 16 hours, but I have not checked nor had the battery die yet.
Receiver
I was able to link my phone easily and was listening to streaming music within a few seconds in my older vehicle. The quality was great with a strong signal.

Transmitter
I was successful at pairing two Bluetooth headphones to a single iPad using the provided directions. I watched a few videos on-line and did not notice much of a lag with the picture and audio. Since there is a mention of the lag in the directions, I was activity listening for it. Otherwise, I doubt I would have noticed it.

I would highly recommend these. The price is right, the transmitter can send two Bluetooth signals, and they eliminate the need for both a Bluetooth receiver and transmitter.

Great Secondary Action Camera

I've owned a few action cameras over the years - including a GoPro Session and other brands. It's nice to have the functionality of a screen, but sometimes it is unnecessary and adds risk of damage. Thus, I was looking forward to trying this GoPro Hero11 Mini.
The setup is identical to any GoPro device, done via app after a firmware update. I tested it a few times and purchased a Chesty to compare it to my older GoPro cameras. Because it isn't as wide, it's not as in the way. The picture quality seems to be a step up from previous models; however, the camera does lack the ability to take still photos. (You can capture a frame from a live video.) I believe that my iPhone takes better video overall, but this GoPro is definitely a better choice for action video. The updated battery lasts noticeably longer than previous models.
I feel that this is a handy action camera for use with drones and as a body cam (eg., for activities such as mountain biking or skiing), but I still prefer the functionality of a screen. In other words, I think this model would be excellent as a secondary camera.

You can have prescription lenses installed. However, you must have Ray-Ban install the lenses for the warranty to remain valid (per Ray-Ban website).

There is no need for a dimmer for this unit. The app allows you to dim the light without the need for a switch.

what does the medium size mean? for heights 5'4 - 6'3?
If your height is between 5 foot 4 inches and 6 foot 3 inches, then the medium boots should be the correct size. If the boot size is too small, the compression will not reach the upper thigh. If too long, then I would imagine the boot would push down on the feet and pushing too high on the inner thigh.

When using the charging case to obtain a wired signal such as PC or a laptop, is the internal microphone still operative?
Your question is awesome and made me want to find out. To test, I made a Duo call to my wife using my laptop. I thought disabling my laptop's mic would cause no sound to be transmitted, so I kept it active and walked 30 feet away from my computer into another room. I could hear my wife fine, but she could not hear me. So, in this test, I can conclude the mic on these earbuds do not work while there is an active Bluetooth connection with the charging case.

The question prior was asked if this is for a pair of dumbbells. An individual stated they reached the company and was for a set. Does that mean a set is a pair? Or a set is individual dumbbell set? Please clarify. The website is poorly written.
You receive two complete dumbells (two dumbbells which BOTH have up to 50lbs each). The box it came in weighed over 100lbs. I hope this makes it clear.

Will the dumbells function if there's a power failure with battery depletion?
If for some reason you had a blackout and the base was depleted, then there would be no way for the base to move the inner rod of the dumbbell. You could still use whatever weight was already selected before the depletion and power outage. To be honest, I would not think this should be a concern. If I ran into this situation, I would just hook up the base to a laptop or powerbank to keep the workout going.

Do these take internet?
The dumbbells do not require the internet and connect via Bluetooth via the app on a phone or tablet. If you wanted to do a live training session, your phone or tablet would need to have internet.
