Fun Lights!
on December 19, 2020
Posted by: Clshipp91
from Fort Worth, tx
As with all the Nanoleaf products, these are great fun little lights. They were definitely much smaller than I expected, but still worked very well and installed smoothly.
Installation was really straight forward. You just click the light panels together with the included connectors, use the provided tape and stick them anywhere you want. I will say Nanoleaf has improved the connectors on the shapes compared to the canvas. They feel much sturdier and are easy to clip into place. After you have theight panels installed, setting them up is as easy as downloading the app and scanning the provided qr code.
Using the lights is really easy too, you can either use the app to set colors 9r use the provided control panel with buttons to turn off and on and cycle settings.these lights are really fun to turn to music or have fun colors for a kids party. My only complaint was how little area these actually cover given how small each triangle is.
If you like Nanoleaf you'll like these or if youre looking for a fun light toy for the kids this will work too.

Completely Silent
on November 22, 2020
Posted by: Clshipp91
from Fort Worth, tx
These breast pumps are an amazing piece of technology. They perform excellently, are incredibly easy to use, and are whisper silent while in use.
In the box:
In the box you get two pump, two sets of milk containers that attach to the pumps, two charging cables, and a bag to put the pumps in. My biggest complaint is that it didn’t come with charging bricks to connect to the charging cables. This seems to be a trend in tech but, given how expensive these are, one should have been included.
Use:
First you have to sterilize all the parts. Everything comes apart fairly easy and can be sterilized con the stove. (Except the pump itself, you don’t sterilize that). To use them, you just turn them on and place them in a bra to keep in place. They will automatically start in let down mode, which lasts about 2 minutes. After that the pumps automatically change to expression mode to pump. They are almost silent through the entire process. They do a great job expressing milk and are fairly comfortable and smaller than competing brands.
There is a companion app that allows you to track production. You can assign either pump to each breast to track production on each. The app is pretty easy to use and is great for tracking production.
Things I like:
1. Silent
2. The containers are reusable. No proprietary bags to buy.
3. Automatic switching to expression mode after two minutes allows you to use these pumps to power pump.
4. Easy to clean, everything can be sterilized easily.
Things I don’t like:
1. Lack of charging bricks.
Overall, these are great pump that are truly an engineering marvel. They are comfortable, silent, and small. Letting you pump on the go without even noticing.

So much Coffee!
on November 18, 2020
Posted by: Clshipp91
from Fort Worth, tx
I have never seen an 18 cup coffee maker before and man was I surprised how big the carafe was. If you are a heavy coffee drinker or have lots of people, this is the one to get.
In the box:
You’ll get the drip coffee maker. It feels really high quality with heavy duty plastic and stainless steel. The glass carafe, which is huge. A reusable cone style filter, which is great for not having to buy paper filters. And lastly a measuring scoop.
Setup and use:
Setting up is pretty straightforward. Plug it in, set the time and you’re good to go. You can also set the program feature for a delay just by pressing the program button and setting the delay brew time. Using the coffee maker is easy, pour in the water,. The carafe actually has water lines to show you how much water to pour in for how every many cups you want. Then select the brew strength, it actually does change the strength which surprised me and let it brew.
The taste:
This coffee maker does a great job not burning the coffee, the warmer keeps the coffee hot without making the coffee taste bad. If you’ve had drip coffee then you’ll know what this tastes like.
Overall, this is a big drip coffee maker, if you have a good spot for it and want to drink tons of coffee this is a good option for you!

Great video doorbell with a few quirks
on November 14, 2020
Posted by: Clshipp91
from Fort Worth, tx
I finally joined the video doorbell club. I’ve always wanted a video doorbell and already had a hand full of Arlo cameras, so an Arlo doorbell seemed like the perfect choice. I’m pretty satisfied with this unit with a few exceptions. For the most part it does what you’d except from a video doorbell.
Set up: set up is fairly easy, this doorbell uses your or installed doorbell wires and chime box to power the doorbell. Double check you set up to be sure you have the right equipment to make this doorbell work. The one note here is to render this doorbell is going to be considerably bigger than your standard doorbell, so you will have to drill be mounting holes in your house. I didn’t realize this and drilling into brick is a pain. There is an option to angle mount, which I did, if you have a word doorbell placement. Overall it’sa fairly straightforward setup, you should not have much trouble.
Using: if you’ve used an Arlo camera before you’ll be right at home. Everything is in the Arlo app. There are options to receive a voice call on your phone when it rings, options to leave a voicemail if you don’t answer, and options to silent the come or the call, though I had trouble silencing each of these independently. The doorbell has great video quality that will capture your entire doorstep in daylight or night. The sound is better than any Arlo cam I have used and it’s very nice not to have to worry about charging since it’s hardwired in.
Arlo smart: Arlo smart is a cool add on you can pay for to retain video, set activity zones and receive smart alerts (alerts with pictures). It’sa cool add on you get for three months and can purchase after.
Overall this is a great doorbell with some needed work on the silencing feature. Other than that I think this will do a great job.

True wireless earbuds with Active Noise Cancellation. The AU Titanium driver gives it a more realistic audio playback because of its three-layer 13MM Titanium film, giving this true wireless earbud a frequency range of 20Hz -20KHz. The noise reduction system inside the earbud generates sound waves that cancel out the ambient noise.

Good sound, decent build quality, bad ANS
on November 10, 2020
Posted by: Clshipp91
from Fort Worth, tx
These headphones really are a mixed bag of some pretty good, some decent, and some bad that make buying these headphones a toss up. I really thought the sound was great, but the build quality and poor active noise canceling really detracted from the experience.
Build:
I’ve definitely had better built wireless headphones. The case is pretty bulky and the lid feels flimsy and loose. Though it does have a usb charger which is nice. The headphones themselves feel nice, it’s pretty obvious the look they were trying to copy from another brand, but these feel a little bulkier than the other brand.
Sound:
The sound is good out of the box, everything is crisp and clean. Don’t expect booming bass, but it does sound good. I do wish there was an app that let you adjust the eq. If you don’t like the sound out of the box there really isn’t an easy way to adjust.
Battery life:
Nothing to complain about here, I’ve yet to have the battery run out and I use them all day long.
One earbud use:
One thing to mention here is that these headphones use a slave system that connects the left headphone to the right headphone which then connects to the phone, which means if you want to use just one headphone, you rather have to leave the right headphone out on a table close by or you need to use the right headphone.
Active Noise Cancelling:
Don’t buy these for the ANS. It’s not very good, I could still hear everything going on around me if I didn’t also have music playing.
Overall:
These are some good sounding headphones with a lot of drawbacks. I’d love to suggest these, but I think there are probably some better options out there for the price.

Awesome Vac!
on November 10, 2020
Posted by: Clshipp91
from Fort Worth, tx
I’ve been wanting a new cordless vacuum for a while and this vacuum delivers with power and accessories.
Performance:
The performance on this vac is top notch. The suction power is amazing and the iloop technology does a great job auto adjusting the suction power when more is needed. It is a great feature that keeps you from wasting battery on unneeded suction.
The vac works great on everything from hardwood to heavy carpet. We have too big dogs and this vacuum doesn’t have any trouble getting all the hair up. It also does a good job not throwing dust out the back when using the motor head on hardwood.
Charge:
The charge is great, I haven’t had any trouble vacuuming my 1600 sq ft house and the option of a removable battery gives you extra charge and the extra battery port makes charging both batteries easy.
App:
There is an app too that records all your vacuum stats. It’s neat but not really super useful so not really a reason to buy.
Overall:
This vacuum keeps up with the big names, with tons of accessories and plenty of power you’ll be hard pressed to find a better cordless vacuum.

Great Toothbrush!
on November 6, 2020
Posted by: Clshipp91
from Fort Worth, tx
What a fun little toothbrush! The Quip toothbrush is a really nice little toothbrush for children, with a unique offer I haven’t seen anywhere else.
In the box:
You get the brush, included battery, and brush head cover that can also stick to your bathroom mirror. The entire thing is plastic, but feels sturdy and is a good size for a child’s mouth.
Using the brush:
It works just like any electric toothbrush. The vibration isn’t excessive so it should shake the toothpaste off or hurt your child’s mouth. It also provides pulses to tell you when you have brushed two minutes to help your child know they’ve brushed long enough. My only problem was the button on the brush is pretty hard to press, so it could be difficult for your child to do on their own.
The app:
The toothbrush comes with an app, because it’s 2020 and everything has an app. It’ll track how often you brush, if you brushed your top teeth more than the bottom, number of strokes, and acceleration. I’m not sure why you’d really need all this information, but if you’re the kind of person that likes to geek out over your brushing habits, here you go. It’ll connect with Apple and Google health to track with all your other health apps. It also features a reward system that will reward you with gift cards if you brush consistently.
The service:
The subscription service is what makes Quip unique. You can subscribe to their service every three months for a new brush head and battery; brush, battery, and toothpaste; or for brush, battery, toothpaste, and floss refill. I think it’s pretty cool to not have to worry about getting a new toothbrush and the price isn’t bad for a brush head.
Overall it’s a quality electric toothbrush and if you’re the kind of person that like subscribing to services that eliminate things like buying toothbrushes, this might be something for you.

Great All-in-one Package
on October 19, 2020
Posted by: Clshipp91
from Fort Worth, tx
The Cobra Road Scout is a nice all-in-one package with a great Radar detector and high quality dash cam all in small form factor.
In the box:
In the box you get the main Road Scout unit, a 12v car power adapter, a windshield mount, a nice soft shell case, a micro sd for video recording, and a usb cable to download video.
Mounting:
I really like the mount that comes with the road scout. It is a reusable sticky suction cup, rather than a 3M adhesive. It feels really sturdy, but could be moved to another vehicle if I needed. The 12v adapter is nice that is will connect straight to the unit, but also provides a usb port so you can plug another device in too.
Radar:
The radar seems to work great. It has a very loud and audible alarm when it detects a radar gun. It hasn't let me down yet. There is a nice big circle lcd screen that shows you the type of radar and the strength. There is also a button to mark spots where you know there are speed detectors and things like that..
App:
There is also the iRadar app which has improved drastically. It works a lot like Waze where people can mark speed traps or red light cameras. Connecting to the app also adds a benefit of real time speed limit notifications on the Road Scout LCD screen, though I've had mixed results on this showing the right speed limit..
Camera:
This is a set it and leave it kind of thing. It records while you have it plugged in and can be downloaded if you ever need it. The quality in both day and night is pretty good. I wish you could view video live, but, this works just fine.
Overall, this is a very high quality dash cam radar detector combo. IT really does cover all your bases and is a definite go to if you're looking for something like this.

My New Kitchen Workhorse
on October 6, 2020
Posted by: Clshipp91
from Fort Worth, tx
It does it all, bake, air fry, roast, dehydrate, pizza, toast, bagels, you name it this oven can do it and does it well. It’s a huge oven that can replace your actual oven, your air fryer, and dehydrator for almost anything you cook. I’m so impressed with this oven.
What you get:
In the box you’ll get the oven, two oven grated, a big air fry basket, 2 sheet pans, and a rosy pan that fits over the sheet pans. You really get a lot of cool little accessories with this one.
Set up:
There’s nothing to it. Pull it out of the box, wash the pans and grates, and plug it in and you are ready to go.
Use:
First thing to note, this thing is huge. You really need to think through where you want to put it, because it isn’t something you’ll want to drag in and out of a cabinet to use. Plus I doubt you have a cabinet big enough to fit it. For illustration, I cooked a whole 5 lbs chicken and a whole large butternut squash and still felt like I could have added another squash and it would have done fine. But, once you figure out where to put it, using the oven is dead simple. There are buttons to select between the functions, time, and temp (number of slices and toast shade if cooking toast or bagels). You set it to the desired settings and walk away. It really is so simple. A quick tip though, if you’re not using the pre provided recipes in the recipe book Ninja sends with the unit, you’ll need to keep an eye on your food, because this oven cooks quicker than a conventional oven, as do all convection ovens. Also, preheat times are lighting fast, like about a minute fast, so be ready to go when you click start. Still trying to figure out how to get the crispy crispy wings, but every thing I’ve cooked has turned out good so far.
The convection fan on the oven is audible but not overly loud.
Overall, I’m really impressed with this oven, the extra size really makes it where I rarely need to use my actual oven as this fits plenty of food to feed our family of 4.

Great idea, horrible execution
on September 29, 2020
Posted by: Clshipp91
from Fort Worth, tx
The idea behind this product is a really cool one. The thought of measure water usage of every piece of plumbing in your house, while at the same time keeping an ever watchful eye out for leaks seems like a really cool thing to add to your smart home. The only problem is the end product is nothing short of infuriating.
Install:
Installing Phyn is actually really easy, if you’ve ever replaced the hoses under your sink you’ll know exactly what to do. The sensors attach at the base of the hot and cold, and the unit plugs into your power under the sink. One thing to note is you’ll need I switched power under your sink. If you have a garbage disposal then the power under your sink is switched and that plug won’t work. This was my first issue getting this thing working. I ended up unplugging my disposal to see how it works.
Phyn in action:
This is where things start to break down. The first being that one of Phyn’s biggest selling points is the smart water usage. But, it turns out if your house doesn’t have a pressure regulating value (PRV), the smart usage tracking won’t work. Phyn said it may work by the summer, but without knowing that before you purchase, it really makes this product almost useless.
My next problem was keeping this thing connected to WiFi/turned on. I’m not sure if the unit kept shutting off or dropping WiFi connection, but I have reset this thing at least 10 times in two days. The help documentation says having a mesh WiFi will not play nice with Phyn, which I’m guessing is what’s happening here. I’m not sure why you would release a smart home product in 2020 that doesn’t work with mesh WiFi, but there it is. I tried to reset the device and switch to the guest WiFi like it suggested, but after resetting the device I never could get it to reconnect. As of now I’ve tried several times, with no success.
Overall, I’ve reviewed many smart home products and with the exception of one other product, I’ve never seen a device so limited and flawed in its execution that makes it as unusable as this one is. It really is a cool idea and I’m very disappointed with how this one turned out.

It sure can. It pops off pretty easy to wipe down.

how do i use a flashdrive

Just plug it into the USB port, then go to "file explorer". In the left hand column of icons you should see your flashdrive. It will be near the "c:" drive on the list. Just drag and drop files to that icon to add things to the flash drive.
