Great all-around sound and cool lights
on December 13, 2020
Posted by: TechnicallyWell
from NY
I’ve tested a lot of Bluetooth speakers over the years, and while Soundcore might not have the recognition of, say, JBL or Sony, they make great speakers and headphones at a great value. Soundcore is a sister-brand of Anker, maker of some of the best-rated chargers on Amazon.
## Design
The Soundcore Flare 2 is one of my favorite speakers by the brand. While the LED lighting might be gimmicky for some, I'm a sucker for LED lights and think that it adds a bit of a party ambiance to the speaker.
There are two RGB LED light rings on the speaker: one located on the bottom and the other on top. There are several pre-programmed animations that can be accessed by tapping the "light" button or by downloading the Soundcore app to your phone.
The round design of the speaker allows you to enjoy your music from any angle and the fabric covering gives the speaker a modern look.
## Sound Quality
The Soundcore Flare 2 sounds great with clear mids and highs. The bass on the Flare 2 is also fairly strong and can be turned off and on with the optional "Bass Up" button located on the back of the speaker.
The bass is not as heavy as some of the more expensive speakers from Sony, for example, but I believe the bass is strong enough for most people.
## Features
- Lighting modes: There are several lighting modes for the two LED light rings: Party Time, Phasing Beats, Bouncing Beats, Circle Beam, and Cool Breath. The lighting modes can be changed by tapping the "light" button on the top of the speaker, or by using the Soundcore app. The app also gives you some additional options for the built-in animations, which are mainly just selecting different color options. The lights can also be turned off completely.
- Party Chain: You can link the Flare 2 to up to 100 other Flare 2 speakers. Please note that this not True Wireless Stereo sound as all of the linked speakers will play the same thing (not one specific audio channel).
- Water resistant: The Flare 2 has an IPX7 rating, which means it can be submerged in water (up to 3.3 feet) for up to 30 minutes, making it ideal for listening to music pool-side.
## Battery Life
The Flare 2 can last up to 12 hours on a single charge with the lights off, or about 9-10 hours with the lights on. The speaker can be recharged with a USB-C cable (which is included) and a powered USB port or charger (not included).
## What's the difference between the Flare 1 and the Flare 2?
The Flare 2 adds an additional light ring on top and has a slightly stronger bass response than the the original Flare (1st generation). The sound output is also louder on the Flare 2: 20 watts total on the Flare 2 compared to 12 watts on the Flare 1.
## Summary
The Flare 2 is a great all-around speaker with great sound, decent bass, and awesome LED lights. It is water resistance, has long battery life, and can be wirelessly connected with additional Flare 2 speaker (to to 100).

Responsive performance
on November 14, 2020
Posted by: TechnicallyWell
from NY
## Setup
Like most smart devices, setting up the Wemo Outdoor Plug requires downloading the Wemo app and creating a Wemo account (if you don't already have one). The app does a good job of guiding you through the setup process and it automatically added the plug to Apple HomeKit for me.
Setting up Alexa integration requires going into the "More" section of the app and selecting "Connect to Other Services". The app guided me through installing the Wemo skill in the Alexa app, however, the name I gave the outlet ("back yard") did not carry over to Alexa and I needed to rename it in the Alexa app.
## Performance
I've found the outlet to be very responsive in both the Wemo app, the Apple Home app, and with Amazon Alexa. To be fair, the outlet is located fairly close my router inside, which likely contributes to its responsive performance. I do like that there are multiple ways to control the outlet: the Wemo app, the Apple Home app, Amazon Alexa and Google Assistant, however, I was not able to integrate it with my SmartThings system at this time.
## Some things to know before buying
- Although there are two outlets located on this Wemo outdoor unit, they cannot be controlled independently. They both turn on and turn off at the same time.
- The cord comes straight down from the outlet. If you plug it into the top outlet, it will block the bottom outlet.
- I was not able to add this outlet to SmartThings. It was not detected, even after selecting the Belkin/Wemo option.

Great image quality, phone connection inconvenient
on November 9, 2020
Posted by: TechnicallyWell
from NY
## Design
The DJI Pocket 2 fits nicely into a hard case included with the unit. The case does not add much bulk to the unit and helps protect the camera and gimbal mechanism.
The controls on the Pocket 2 can be a little confusing. There are two main buttons on the front: the red "shutter" button to trigger the camera, and a "mode" button that switches between functions.
However, there is also an optional joystick and button panel that you can slide into the Pocket 2. But when it comes time to transfer your recordings to your phone, you must remove this small panel and slide in the Lightning or USB-C connector into the same spot. I would have preferred that the joystick controls were a permanent feature and that the phone connections could simply be plugged into a port on the side of the unit. It seems odd that you need to remove the physical controls in order to access the data connections.
## Performance
Like the DJI OM 4, the DJI Pocket 2 does a great job of smoothing out movements in your video recordings. However, unlike the OM 4, the DJI Pocket 2 has its own camera and does not need your phone to function. You can see in my photo that the DJI Pocket 2 is more compact than the OM 4.
The Pocket 2 removes some of the up and down motion of walking while recording, but it does not completely eliminate it. However, it smooths out the movement enough that most people should not get seasick while watching your recordings.
The small display on the DJI Pocket 2 allows you to see your recordings and access many settings through the touch interface. However, the screen is very small and it is difficult to use as a viewfinder. It's also challenging to navigate through the various settings and features as most options require you to remember to swipe in a certain direction to access them.
## Features
- Portable: The Pocket 2 fits nicely in its hard case and can fit in most pockets. There are even storage locations in the case for the phone connectors and the optional wide-angle lens.
- AI Editor: You can select the videos and photos from which you wish to create a video and the AI Editor will automatically pick out a style and begin storyboarding the clips. However, as of this initial release, the videos and photos must first be downloaded to your phone and added to your phone's gallery. This is different from the DJI Fly app which can create videos directly from the memory card in the drone. Given most phones have somewhat small onboard storage (and instead push you towards cloud storage subscriptions), this is a bit inconvenient if you're trying to save space on your phone.
- Story Mode: This includes some pre-canned Instagram story-worthy templates for your videos.
- Tripod mount: A separate base can be snapped onto the bottom of the unit which includes a standard tripod mount while still allowing access to the USB-C charging port on the bottom of the unit.
## Battery Life
After using the DJI Pocket 2 for about an hour on a recent road trip, I had approximately 60% battery remaining. This seems to support the 140 minute battery life that DJI stated. The Pocket 2 can be recharged with a USB-C cable (included) and a USB wall charger up to 5V 2A (not included).
## Summary
The DJI Pocket 2 produces smooth and high quality video and pictures without typing up your smartphone. The included hard case makes it pocket friendly and it starts up fast for spur-of-the-moment recording. The on-screen menus are difficult to navigate with the tiny touchscreen, and connecting the unit to your phone is somewhat inconvenient as it requires sliding out the physical controls to slide in a phone connector.

Great camera, great light
on November 1, 2020
Posted by: TechnicallyWell
from NY
## Setup and Design
The Arlo Pro 3 Floodlight camera comes with minimal instruction, instead directing you to the Arlo app which provides a nice overview video of how to setup and mount the camera.
As you might have guessed, it's best to wait until evening to test out different mounting spots to find the best position for the camera so you can test out the floodlight and make sure it is lighting the part of your yard that you want.
The camera/floodlight unit is somewhat heavy compared to many of Arlo's other cameras, so you will need to use the mounting piece included with the floodlight unit (your existing Arlo mounts likely will not work).
## Performance
The LED spotlight is surprisingly bright on battery power (and can get even brighter when connected to power with an outdoor cable, which is not included). It provides plenty of light for my backyard and lights a wide area. Motion detection also works very well. It uses an infrared sensor, so it will detect animals and people and not rustling leaves or swaying tree branches. You can adjust the sensitivity of the motion detection if you find it is triggering too often or not enough.
The camera images are also very sharp with a 2K resolution that allows you to really zoom in on an image to see what is happening.
## Features
- Bright floodlight: This unit gives you the benefit of a floodlight and camera in one. I found the floodlight to be plenty bright on battery power and good for lighting up my back yard.
- No base station required: This camera can be setup to connect directly to WiFi with not base station required. However, if you already have an Arlo basestation, this camera will work with the VMB5000, VMB4540, VMB4500 or VMB4000 base stations.
- Easy to charge: There is a button to release the camera unit from the mounting hardware (convenient, but not totally secure against theft) so you can bring the camera inside and charge it with the included Micro USB charger. The Micro USB port is located inside the camera, so you can't use a power bank to charge the camera while it is mounted. If you have the optional magnetic charging cable which attaches to the bottom of the camera, you could then use a power bank to charge the camera while it is mounted.
- Built-in siren: The camera has a loud siren that you can activate either manually or set to automatically activate whenever motion is detected.
- Homekit-compatible: iPhone users will be happy to know that the camera can be viewed in Apple's "Home" app that is installed by default on iPhones.
## Subscription Confusion
One "feature" I don't care for is the forced "Arlo Smart" trial (I couldn't find a way to opt out). This makes it hard to tell what comes "free" with the camera and which features you are receiving because they are part of the trial
Simple things such as a preview image in the push notification, setting activity zones and cloud recordings are not included for free with the camera. When your trial runs out, you get plain text notifications ("Motion has been detected") for all areas of the camera's coverage area with no ability to view the recordings in the cloud (they do record locally if you attach a USB drive to the base). To be clear, the camera *does* work without a monthly fee, but many of the features you might be accustomed to are not included.
## Battery Life
It's hard to gauge battery life as everyone's situation is different. Depending on the environment and the amount of motion events, the camera can last anywhere from a week to a month on a single charge. I'd recommend mounting it an area that is easy to reach, but if that's not possible, you can purchase the optional solar panel or outdoor power cable.
## Summary
The Arlo Pro 3 Floodlight Camera is a solid performer with a bright light and high resolution camera for keeping tabs on your home. The forced Arlo Smart trial gives you features that you might assume are free: preview images in the push notifications, activity zones, and cloud storage. Be sure to review the Arlo Smart description on Arlo's website to understand how much these features cost.

Great for gaming and work
on October 28, 2020
Posted by: TechnicallyWell
from NY
## Setup and Design
The monitor was conveniently packaged in its box. When opening the box as directed, you can access the back of the monitor immediately for installing your wall mount bracket if you wish to do so. Otherwise, you can install the included base. I was surprised to find that an HDMI cable is also included in the packaging.
The monitor has a very minimal design with a very thin bezel around the top and sides (the bottom bezel is a little larger). The buttons for power and navigating the on-screen menus are located on the bottom of the monitor.
## Performance
I fired up Fortnite to test this monitor out for gaming. It definitely did not disappoint! Graphics are sharp and I did not notice any issues with responsiveness or ghosting. I also found the monitor to work well for working-from-home as well as doing photo editing.
The LED backlight and IPS display provides a consistent viewing experience across the display, even if you're viewing the monitor from an angle or if you're looking up at the monitor while slouched in your chair.
## Features
- 4ms response time: A low response time is a must-have for gaming, and the Dell S2721NX monitor's low 4ms worked great for Fortnite gaming. I did not have any issues with delays or ghosting while playing.
- FreeSync: This prevents "tearing" in fast-moving game play. This Dell monitor supports this technology (if your graphics card also supports it).
- IPS: An "IPS" display means that the picture looks consistent from an angle. This Dell monitor looks great whether you're sitting directly in front of it, or if you're slouched in your seat and not seeing it head-on.
- VESA Mount: I was able to mount this monitor to the wall thanks to the standard 100 mm x 100 mm VESA holes.
- ComfortView: Although the shift to warmer colors is built-in to many operating systems now, you can manually reduce the amount of blue light with the "ComfortView" setting directly on the monitor.
## Summary
Overall, the Dell S2721NX monitor is great for both gaming and working-from-home alike. The sharp display, uniform lighting and fast response time make this a great choice for your gaming rig or home office.

Good, basic webcam to get a better angle
on October 21, 2020
Posted by: TechnicallyWell
from NY
## Design
The Logitech C505 is designed to fit on top on many flat panel monitors and laptop display, but the base can also be used to place the webcam on a flat surface. Unlike some other webcams, there is no tripod adapter on the bottom of the camera.
There is a white LED on the front of the camera that lets you know when it is active. There is no manual privacy slider on the webcam, so you would need to unplug it or cover it when not in use if you're concerned with security.
## Features
- Extra long cord: The USB cord included with the camera is 7 feet long, allowing you to place the camera in a higher position such as on top of a monitor or shelf. This way, you can aim the camera at a more flattering angle instead of using your laptop's built-in camera.
- 720p video: This spec is actually lower than the 1080p resolution you'll find on many other webcams. So why would you want a lower resolution? First, unless you're recording a high quality YouTube video, 720p is sufficient for most video conferencing calls. And, if your internet connection has been shaky since working and schooling from home, a 720p resolution will use less bandwidth than a 1080p resolution, freeing up some bandwidth for other things. Plus, many cameras built-in to laptops are so bad that they don't produce a 1080p-worthy picture anyways.
- Built-in microphone: The built-in microphone performs well even from a distance. However, to avoid feedback or echo issues, it is still better to pipe your computer's audio through a earbud, as using your laptop's built-in speaker for calls can cause the sound to be picked up by the camera's microphone and create an echo.
- Wide-compatibility: The camera works with Windows, Mac, and even Chromebooks (which is nice since many Chromebooks have a poor quality camera). The camera was automatically detected and did not require a manual driver install.
## Performance
Picture quality is great on the Logitech C505, but for the best quality, you'll want to make sure you have a bright light in front of your face and a relatively dark background behind you. The camera does seem to perform well in lower-light conditions, although the picture does get somewhat grainy.
## Summary
If you're tired of your laptop's camera looking up your nostrils, the Logitech C505 is a no-frills webcam with a long 7-foot cable that allows you to place it at a more flattering angle. The 720p resolution is sufficient for video calls over Zoom and the microphone performs well even if the camera is a few feet away.

Good ANC and sound quality; comfortable fit
on October 1, 2020
Posted by: TechnicallyWell
from NY
## Design
When you think of "Active Noise Cancellation" headphones, you probably think of large, over-the-ear headphones like the Bose QuietComfort series. However, the JLab Epic Air Sport ANC earbuds give you Active Noise Cancellation technology that can fit in your pocket.
The "sport" version of these earbuds feature a soft, plastic "hook" that goes around your ear to keep them secure during workouts. Although the hooks are somewhat rigid, I find them comfortable enough to wear for a couple hours.
The earbuds are mostly black with a silver logo over the touch sensors. The charging case a black matte finish that resists fingerprints and light scratches.
## Performance
The Active Noise Cancellation feature is effective, but works best for steady "hums" like the sound of a fan. It's less effective against the sound of the television or people talking, but does help reduce them quite a bit.
The level of the Active Noise Cancellation can be controlled by holding the left touch sensor for 1 second, which cycles through ANC On, ANC Off, and Be Aware mode (where outside sounds are piped in through via the external microphones). It can also be controlled through JLAB's dedicated app.
Sound quality is also quite good. Since they seal to your ear canal, you get a good bass response. There are built-in EQ settings that can be accessed with the app or by triple-tapping the right touch sensor (cycles through JLAB Signature, Balanced, Bass Boost, and Custom). You can create your own EQ settings in the app as well to get the sound just how you like it. Personally, I like the JLAB Signature setting.
## Battery Life
JLAB states the earbuds can achieve up to 15 hours of battery life between charges (turning on ANC reduces that to 11 hours). The charging case can provide about 3-4 additional charges.
The charging case is unique due to the fact that it has a USB cable built-in to the bottom. So you only need to find an open USB port to plug the case into (no additional cables are needed). The case also supports wireless Qi charged (be sure to move it around on the Qi charger to find the right spot; it doesn't seem to be exactly centered).
## Summary
Overall, the JLAB Epic Air Sport ANC True Wireless earbuds don't quite have the Active Noise Cancellation effectiveness of larger headphones such as the Bose QuietComfort, but it's still good for short flights or bus trips. Sound quality is very good and the ear hooks keep the earbuds secure in your ear. The built-in charging cable is a nice touch.

Excellent sound for gaming and music
on September 27, 2020
Posted by: TechnicallyWell
from NY
## Design
The Bose QuietComfort 35 II Gaming Headset is basically the same as the Bose QuietComfort 35 II headphones, only it comes with a snap-on microphone accessory. This may beg the question: can you simply buy the gaming boom microphone and snap it on to an existing pair of QuietComfort 35 II headphones?
While it seems to be technically possible, unfortunately, the gaming microphone accessory is not sold separately. At the moment, you need to purchase the whole Bose QuietComfort 35 II Gaming Headset package to get the boom microphone.
Aside from the microphone, there is also a USB gaming headset controller included that allows you to connect the unit to a Windows computer and provides a large volume adjustment dial and a button for controlling mic monitoring.
The Bose QuietComfort 35 II headphones fold up nicely in the included hard travel case. Another difference you'll find when compared to the original QC 35 II headphones is that the Bose logo is a copper color on the gaming edition. The outer plastic has a nice matte finish that resists most fingerprints and light scratches.
## Features
- Gaming microphone: The most obvious change with the QC 35 II Gaming Headset is the clip-on boom microphone for gaming. The microphone must use a wired connection and be connected to your game console's controller or into the included USB gaming headset controller for connecting to a PC.
- USB Gaming Headset controller: This connects via USB to your gaming computer and provides volume control and microphone feedback. Each press of the side button adjusts the level of microphone feedback: off, low, medium and high. This allows you to hear your own voice which would otherwise be filtered by the noise cancellation technology. I like this as it helps eliminate the feeling that you're talking underwater and helps prevent you from shouting at your teammates.
- Noise cancellation: Something that Bose is known for, the noise cancellation technology is top notch and is literally the same you would find on the original Bose QC 35 II headphones. The "action button" on the left side can be configured in the Bose Connect app to adjust the level of noise cancellation: off, low and high.
- In-line mute switch: The cable attached to the gaming microphone features a mute switch, making it quick and easy to mute yourself. A red, painted (not an LED) indicator on the switch makes it easy to see if you are muted.
- Bluetooth: Bluetooth cannot be used while the gaming mic is attached, but when you remove it, this headset functions like a normal Bose QC 35 II headset. You can use Bluetooth to stream music from your phone and use the noise cancellation features for traveling.
- Alexa/Google Assistant: When connected to your phone via Bluetooth, the action button on the left ear-cup can be configured to summon Alexa or Google Assistant (only one can be configured at a time). This requires a Bluetooth connection to your phone and uses your phone's data, so voice assistants are not available when the gaming mic is attached (which disables Bluetooth).
## Performance
The noise cancellation feature works very well for gaming by eliminating sounds from your environment and helping you to better focus on the sounds inside your game. I can definitely tell a difference when wearing this headset while playing and picking up on sounds I might not have otherwise noticed.
The microphone performs great and my friends say they can hear me fine.
The USB headset controller is also a nice feature. It's weighted so it doesn't slide around off your desk and provides a quick and easy way to adjust the volume without trying to find the volume controls on the headset itself (in fact, the on-headset buttons don't function when the gaming mic is attached). It seems to install like any other USB headset as the drivers installed automatically (it worked on my Mac, too).
Of course, the sound quality is awesome, which is to be expected from Bose. Bass is strong and both gaming and music sound excellent.
## Summary
If you're looking for a gaming headset that can also be used like regular headphones, the Bose QuietComfort 35 II Gaming Headset gives you the best of both worlds. Simply removing the gaming mic attachment enables Bluetooth and allows you to use the headset as a regular pair of Bose QC 35 II headphones. Bose's excellent sound quality and noise cancellation works great for gaming and listening to music alike.
## Some points to consider
- Bluetooth and the gaming mic *cannot* be used at the same time. Attaching the microphone disables Bluetooth on the headphones (and your phone won't be able to see it). Bose states this is done because a wired connection provides lower latency for gaming.
- When the gaming microphone is attached, the noise cancellation feature can be turned on and off by using the power switch (the AUX cable continues to work when the headphones are off). The action button does not work when the gaming mic is attached. Alexa/Google Assistant are also unavailable.

One of my favorite features of this mouse is the fact that it is full size and that my hand rests comfortably on it. Many wireless mice are half the size and make my hand feel cramped after an hour or so. This mouse feels great in my hand and I have no problem using it the entire work day.
## Performance
The wireless signal works fine and I've had no issues with skipping or lag when it is plugged in directly to my laptop. I have had an issue with this in the past with these small "nano" receivers and I've found that using a USB 2.0 extension cord solves any issues cause by interference from USB 3.0 ports. So if you run into trouble with the mouse pointer jumping across the screen or hesitating, try using a USB 2.0 (note the two) extension cord with the nano receiver.
## Battery Life
Logitech claims that this mouse can last over a year on a single AA battery. I have yet to use the mouse that long, but I like the fact that it only requires one AA battery as this keeps the mouse lightweight and it glides easily across my desktop.

The new magnetic clamp is convenient!

## What's the difference between the OM 4 and Osmo 3?
- Magnetic quick release clamp: Attaching and detaching your phone from the gimbal is a lot more easier on the OM 4 thanks to the magnetic clamp. You simply place the clamp on your phone and if you're going out for a day of shooting, you can just leave it on your phone (it's a little bulky, so you probably don't want to leave it on your phone day-to-day). The clamp works with most phone sizes and can be put on over top of your phone case.
- Magnetic ring holder: A more permanent attachment is a magnetic "sticker" you would place on the back of your phone. DJI recommends attaching the sticker to the back of your phone and not on a case.
- Stronger motor: The OM 4 can support heavier phones as it has a stronger motor compared to the Osmo 3.
## Performance
The DJI OM 4 does a great job of smoothing out movement and "jitters" in your video recordings. I took the OM 4 on a road trip and was surprised by the smooth video I was able to capture out the passenger-side window of the car, even on a bumpy road.
The physical buttons definitely make taking photos and recording videos convenient, but you need to make sure the clamp is not pressing again one of your phone's physical volume buttons. Otherwise, the physical buttons on the OM 4 may not work.
The OM 4 also does an excellent job of removing the up and down motion of walking while recording, but it does not completely eliminate it. The built-in optical stabilization of the iPhone X does not seem to interfere with the OM 4.
The ActiveTrack feature also does a decent job of following people and dogs, but seems to be less effective when targeting inanimate objects.
## Features
- Portable: The OM 4 folds up nicely for travel, taking up minimal space in your bag. The OM 4 does not come with a hard case, but a soft pouch is included instead.
- ActiveTrack 3.0: This OM 4 can follow a person or pet automatically, using either the back or front-facing camera. You can use it to record yourself demonstrating something or to follow your dog playing ball in the yard.
- Gesture Control: With this feature, you can make a palm or "V" gesture with your hand to activate the ActiveTrack 3.0 feature.
- Dynamic Zoom: This is a cool effect that you've probably seen on TV. The subject stays stationary while the background seems to zoom in or zoom out. You can accomplish this effect by following the steps in the DJI Mimo app.
- Story Mode: This includes some pre-canned Instagram story-worthy templates for your videos.
- Tripod mount: A small tripod mount is included and can be screwed to the bottom of the OM 4 to capture selfies or group shots with yourself included.
## Battery Life
On my road trip, I used the gimbal for over an hour and the LED lights still indicated that I had near-full battery. DJI states the OM 4 can get up to 15 hours of battery life and takes about 2.5 hours to recharge with a 5V 2A wall charger (not included).
However, the DJI Mimo app seems to be processor-intensive as I find my phone's battery draining quickly (and heating up) while using it.
## Summary
The versatility of the magnetic phone clamp is the main standout feature of the OM 4, but if you're happy with the clamp on the Osmo 3, then there probably isn't a pressing reason to upgrade. However, newcomers to DJI's gimbals will appreciate the ease of attachment on the OM 4.

MagGo Magetic Portable 5K Battery with Bracket is both a charger and a stand, specifically for your MagSafe compatible iPhone 12 & 13. Using new technology, this can magnetically attach to the back of your phone, providing it a wireless charge along with a strong attachment. The battery also has a bracket that folds out, so that you can stand your phone up wherever you want.

Does it work for any iPhone like the iPhone 11 Pro Max or is it just for the 12 and 13

The iPhone 11 series does not have the magnetic ring in the back, so this power bank will not be magnetically attracted to the iPhone 11. However, you could sit this power bank on a desk, turn it on, and set your iPhone 8, X, or 11 on top to use it like a regular (non-magnetic) wireless charger.

What type of usb do you need to charge this battery pack? Apple sub charger? And do you need to buy a magnetic case for this to use?

You could use the charging brick for your iPhone, but you'll need to temporarily remove the Lightning cable and use a USB-C cable to charge this power bank.
This power bank will work best if you have a magnetic case on your iPhone 12 or 13. If you use a non-magnetic case, the power bank's magnetic attraction will be weaker and it may not stay in place.

Unlock more possibilities than ever with the Pro designed for a Pro like you. The first consumer laptop-to-tablet PC designed on the Intel Evo platform⁹ and designed to light up the best of Windows 11, Surface Pro 8 combines the power of a laptop with the flexibility of a tablet, and every angle in between. Do great things with a larger 13” touchscreen, faster connections with Thunderbolt 4 ports, and extra speed when you need it.

How can I connect a wireless mouse and external storage to the surface pro 8, without any USB ports? Is there something you recommend using?

If you search for a "USB-C to USB adapter", you can find small dongles that will turn a USB-C port into a regular USB port. You can also search for "USB-C Hubs" as some will charge the Surface Pro 8, connect to a monitor, and provide one or two regular USB ports with just one USB-C connection.
Alternatively, you can also look for a wireless mouse that supports Bluetooth if you want to be able to connect a mouse without using a dongle.

The New Definition of High Definition: This FHD monitor feels as good as it looks, packing IPS technology for 178 degrees ultra-wide viewing angles, 99% sRGB color gamut for color accuracy, and AMD FreeSync to keep your eyes up to speed with your imagination.

how do you connect the monitor to the laptop

Some Windows laptops have a regular HDMI port like you might find on a TV. If that's the case, you can use the included HDMI cable to connect your laptop to this monitor. If your computer has an older VGA port, you would need to buy an inexpensive VGA cable to connect to the monitor.
If your laptop doesn't have an HDMI or VGA port, then you'll likely need an adapter. You could call/chat/email your computer's manufacturer and ask what you would need to connect your laptop to an HDMI monitor.

Would this monitor work well with a Macbook Pro?

You'll likely need an adapter to use this monitor with a MacBook as MacBooks don't typically have a regular HDMI port. Go to Apple's support page and search for the article titled "Connect to HDMI from your Mac". This article will show you the different types of ports you might find on your Mac and what you'll need to connect them to HDMI.

Do you carry the wireless charger?

I'm not sure I understand your question, but hopefully this information helps:
There is no wireless charger included with the unit. The Roam comes with a USB-C cable for charging. You cable has a USB-A connector at the other end, so it can be plugged into the "regular" (rectangular) USB ports you'll find on older laptops and phone chargers. It could also be used with a power bank if you wanted to be able to charge the Roam while away from a power outlet.

The exclusive Bose OpenAudio technology produces clear, consistent sound that’s more authentic and comfortable than bone conduction. In addition, acoustic spillage is minimal thanks to speaker placement that’s closer to the ear. A comfortable and secure fit is crucial when exercising. These sport earbuds were rigorously designed and tested to gently rest on your ears while staying put no matter how intense your workout. Bose Sport Open Earbuds also offer up to eight hours of play time (with daily charging), an advanced mic system for crystal-clear calls, and IPX4 sweat and weather resistance. Now you can combine the environment that invigorates you with the content that motivates you.

can one earbud be used at a time to either take/talk on phonecalls?

Looking at the manual, it appears that only the right earbud contains the microphone for phone calls. So if you want to use only one earbud, it would need to be the right earbud.

Wemo WiFi Smart Outdoor Plug gives you total smart control over your lights, holiday decorations and other outdoor devices. Featuring two splash-proof and weather-resistant outlets, you can set schedules and control two devices together from anywhere by using the app or your voice with Apple HomeKit, Amazon Alexa, or Hey Google.* It’s perfect for the patio, yard or other spaces where you’d like to manage electric outlets. You can also use Away Mode to randomly turn porch or landscape lights on and off when you’re not home. Sync lights connected to the Smart Outdoor Plug with the sunset and you’ll walk out to a backyard that’s ready for evening activities.

Does this Wemo WiFi smart plug-outdoor, connect to a mesh WiFi system. I have some Wemo smart mini plugs thatonly connect to 2 ghz routers. The Mesh system I have doesn’t distinguish between 2 and 5 ghz bands, so the Wemo mini plugs do not connect my wifi

I connected the Wemo Outdoor smart outlet to a Linksys Velop mesh system that uses the same SSID for the 2.4 and 5 GHz bands, and I have not noticed any issues with this or any of my other smart devices. It's true some devices only work on the 2.4 GHz band, but it shouldn't matter if the SSID is the same for both bands as the smart plug will only "see" the 2.4 GHz version.

Customize lighting configurations to enhance security. Trigger your built-in siren remotely or automatically to ward off unwanted visitors. Protect your home or business with Arlo.Arlo Secure includes cloud recordings of video clips at 2K or lower resolution for 30 days. Renewal of an Arlo Secure plan is required to maintain Arlo Secure features, including cloud storage.

This is for internal use only. Can i turn off floodlights? I don't want a police-type setup.

You can configure the unit to record video only and not turn on the floodlight when motion is detected. However, if you don't plan on using the floodlight, you could save some money by purchasing one of Arlo's cameras without the floodlight.
