Great experience setting up

I've had lots of experience setting up computers, and so I know that everyone gets annoyed by bloat and try me and buy me offers on computers. But HP has designed this to the point where you can uninstall Mcaffee and you're done with the promotional offers. Nothing else to bug you on the screen. This unit is problem free and designed well too! I think this is one of the best desktop experiences I've had in a long time and that goes to say I've owned a lot of computers.
That being said, there are some things you should know if you're looking to purchase it. This desktop has phased out the DVI port and the VGA port. So unless you have an HDMI to DVI cord, you won't be able to use this tower. and you can't use legacy plugs anymore.
You will also need a 32GB flash drive, at least to create to create the recovery partition comfortably.
That being said, this system is very speedy and opens applications lightning fast. I mainly use it for writing documents on Microsoft Word and watching YouTube videos / streaming movies on the tower. No slowdown, 60FPS videos play silky smooth and there is plenty of space for editing photos.
The tower design... I just love it. I have rich sound coming from the tower and I don't need an external pair of speakers in order to enjoy what I'm doing. If you don't like the sound that's coming from the tower you can use your own speakers.
Oh yeah, No DVD / CD Drive but I don't care as everything is digital so... CD / DVD Drives are extremely inexpensive.
Overall, I think HP did a great job on this design. I really think I a college student or a first time computer user would enjoy this. Just remember the monitor situation and get the appropriate cable if you don't have it!

You can use it on any network! Not just Verizon!

This is my very first ownership of a high end phone so my standards were set pretty high when I needed a device to do everything I wanted. I don't have a Verizon account, but according to recent online news articles that had surfaced you can use the Verizon version of the Google Pixel on any carrier you like. So I bought a Tracfone BYOP kit and activated my Nano GSM Sim Card. Within minutes, I was using the Google Pixel on the Tracfone Wireless Network!
I then proceeded to finish setup of the phone, connect my Google Account and Voila, I was finished and the whole process took 11 minutes tops. After updating all the apps and getting the phone app I needed to check my service balance, I checked out the phone. It's got a nice sleek design to it. Headphone Jack, fingerprint sensor on the back, camera flash, front facing camera. It's very handsome looking if I say so myself.
Inside the phone, it has an NFC Chip so if you want to use Google Pay with your phone you can do that.
Unfortunately, you can't expand the memory inside the unit but with 32GB of memory and online streaming services, owning a MP3 collection of your music seems like a thing of the past. Kind of a bummer on that end.
Performance wise, this phone is super smooth as butter. I ran a couple of fancy gaming apps on the phone that have graphical demands and it handled each of the games without issues. With the inability to expand storage as said above, you may be pushing it if you are installing very large games that require 1GB or more for the initial installation
The phone does charge really fast like the box says......
If you are looking for something that keeps you connected all the time and you're looking to break free from the device that you take a bite out of the fruit, this is a very attractive option. It has great sound, it handles well and it's very responsive in all everyday life situations you would use your phone for.

Somethings good and somethings bad...

Initially setting up the unit was very frustrating. The unit is very slow out of the box. The setup time takes a long time too. You also have to create the USB recovery drive. If something goes wrong with your PC that is. After everything was setup, I proceeded to create the recovery partition. This took 1 hour. Once I stripped this unit of unnecessary Acer programs, I tried to do a Windows Update but for some reason it will not complete.
I had no choice but to download a 32 bit Windows 10 ISO, copy the files to a flash drive and do a clean install of Windows 10 Anniversary Update which made the unit perform very good. If you decide to do this, make sure you know what you're doing as your tablet is going to show the wrong way when installing Windows and it's connected to the dock. This is normal. When it's done doing it's thing, take the tablet off the keyboard dock and finish setup. Make sure you run advanced disk cleanup to clear away temporary windows install directories and the Windows OLD folder.
Once everything was finished and cleansed of bloatware, I had a smooth experience using this unit. Installed Google Chrome, some internet security, installed a Micro SD Card and put a couple of games on it. When using the unit as a laptop, the touch pad is a little sensitive for my preferences. When using the unit as a tablet, it has some considerable weight to it. If you intend to give this as a gift for a child, you may not want to due to it's weight.
Sound will sound tiny depending on what's playing through the speaker. but once you use sites such a Youtube and playing music, it will sound considerably louder. You do have the choice of headphones and external speakers if that's your cup of tea.
I had mentioned you can play games on this thing. Yes and no. While the processor is quad-core, this does not mean you can game on it. This Atom processor is certainly a step above it's Aspire One Netbook counterparts but still not ready for primetime games like the integrated graphics inside the Aspire R with Core I5 and Intel HD 520 are. But the CPU can play 60 Fps videos on Youtube with minimal stutter.
Overall, part of me says I like it while the other half says there may be difficulty for certain users of this unit if they don't have the technical expertise to deal with issues like I've experienced. Checkout a unit at a local store if it's on display before committing to purchase.

Works well in all situations

When I first opened the box, I had flashbacks about how hard the last vacuum was to put together. But unpacking out of the box, it was a breeze and I had it assembled as a push / pull unit for the floor, similar to the operation of my old vacuum in 7 minutes.
Essentially, you can use this unit for many purposes, even a hand vacuum similar to a dust buster. Since I had not cleaned the carpet that week I decided to give it a try. This unit picked up more dirt in our carpet than the other unit did compared to our old cheap vacuum. Even worked nice on our hardwood floor on the lighter setting.
Unfortunately, the push and pull experience can be a bit of a struggle sometimes depending how I'm feeling in the day, it can feel "heavy" at times to do so when you pull the vacuum back and then push it. All the weight for this unit seems to be at the top instead of the bottom but it's just as heavy as my old unit.
While the design is very compact and easy to store compared to traditional units, it may be a challenge for those with limited mobility or range of motion with their hands / body.
Overall, nice unit, but can come with some challenges depending how you lift items with weight.

When I get up in the morning, the first thing I want is a cup of coffee. And my news of course. However sometimes I don't feel like a full pot of coffee. All I want is one cup of coffee. When I got this coffee maker. I was a bit skeptical at first. Seeing the TV informercials I ask, can it be that good?
When I got open up the box, I was able to use it right away. Poured water inside and then put my coffee in. When my cup was done, I sipped on my coffee. The coffee from this coffee maker tasted hot and fresh, just like I would get it out of a well known place where you buy coffee! My boyfriend also had a cup from this machine and said its strong coffee. That's just how we like our coffee.
What's great is that after you make your coffee, the unit is easy to clean, it includes a re-usable filter that you wash in the sink, or you can use your own paper filters.
There is also a recipe book in case you want to try and make your own. I'm just impressed, the coffee tasted real good using this unit and I've already used it quite a few times since opening it up to drink coffee. Really great product that makes the perfect cup of coffee each time.

I needed a pair of headphones for the gym and my local Best Buy Mobile store was within walking distance for my gym. Since these were on sale, I placed an order for in store pickup. I picked them up and then arrived at the gym to open the product. Kind of got frustrated with the packaging but I like how they are well packed so they don't get damaged. I
I connected the headphones to my tablet and it recognized it as a headset with a microphone on the tablet. The sound quality is decent, and yeah it don't have enough bass but I did not buy it for that purpose. Sound is loud depending on what you're listening to, but if it's not loud enough, it's a problem with the content you're listening to not the volume of the headphones.
Being they were on sale for $9.99 it was a good buy, but I don't pay more than that for headphones EVER. If it was regular price at $19.99 I would of went for a cheaper alternative. Happy I got to try these out at a good price.

Came in handy quite a few times when out and about. I don't really like public charging outlets since you don't know if the port has electricity issues that can damage your phone so this works just fine and allows for one charge before you have to recharge the charger. Well worth the price indeed.

I wanted to hard wire my XBOX 360 in the bedroom but the router is in the living room and the distance was about 20 feet so I bought this cord to loop around from the living room to the bedroom and it worked without any issues. Price was great too.

When I heard about this laptop on Tech Insider, I immediately did some research on it and found the specs impressive. So I requested it from TIN, and several days later it arrived at my house. I was excited to unbox the unit, so I cut open the box... And it's a box inside a box! Probably to hide what's really inside. Opening the second box, I find the laptop inside that box, and also an AC Adapter, and charger cord inside along with some warranty information.
So I examine the laptop to see how it looks, very nice, slim profile, cooling vents are awesome on this unit, USB 3.1! (One port) 2 USB 3.0 ports, and one USB 2.0 ports. Looking on the other side, there is the volume button and the power button. What about a battery to install, or an Ethernet port? Nope.... Battery is integrated into the unit. If the battery ever fails, you'll have to send it in to get it replaced. You can't service it yourself like old laptop models. And if there is ever a battery recall.... Well you lose productivity and have to send the unit it as well.
In regards to the missing Ethernet port, that's a big factor to me, I can understand Dial Up Modems not being included anymore, but for no Ethernet to be included is a deal breaker for me to an extent. The plus is that the Wifi that's integrated into the laptop allows connection to the 5Ghz band so the wifi connection is more reliable.
Another gripe is the power button and the volume button on the right side of the laptop. I did not care for this design, and seems it can be prone to failure or other issues. And to top it off.... There are also function keys that control the volume so I don't understand the need for two sets of volume controls.
When you take it out of the box, prepare for a long setup time. I think my average setup time was 45 minutes for the initial setup, and then it took longer to strip the junk from it. If you're going to create a recovery drive, you're going to need to purchase either a USB 2.0 or USB 3.0 Flash Drive,at least 8GB. Prepare for 30 minutes to create the flash drive average if using USB 2.0 and a considerable bit lower when using USB 3.0.
Once everything was in the clear, I decided to test the touch screen on the unit, very responsive, I did not notice any issue with slowdown or lag, or issues where if you pushed on the screen too much, you would see a minor bleed effect. Well built screen!
Had also tested the game and I can run Super Street Fighter IV on max details on 720p, can even run Devil May Cry 4 (Not the remaster) with Direct X 10 enabled on full details with a smooth framerate at 720p.
So if the XBOX 360 could run it, you have save bets for this laptop. It is very gaming friendly but you need to keep your resolutions at 720p if you want the maximum details, and if you want a more smooth framerate at 1080. you'll need to reduce the detail to keep the framerate up.
Overall this laptop is fantastic, and build quality is great, and with the inclusion of keys that light up, what's not to love about this laptop despite it's minor design quirks.

Added these speakers to my 32" Dynex LCD we bought last year. Sound from TV has always bothered me. Added these on and now the Sound Matches the picture. Connected using headphone jack placed just behind TV speakers Sounds Great. And for 9.99 a steal for a great upgrade.

Non matching audio

There are several factors that are suspect when it comes to delayed audio. HD pictures have more of an issue. It could be the cable box on your tv or whatever you use to watch TV. If you change the channel, does it do it on another one? Also check the Dynex site for firmware updates to your TV as they release updates which solve problems with the TV since the original release of the unit. Its upgradeable through a port called the Service Port so check out Dynex website for more details.

Would be outstanding product if the cable length were longer than the approximate 24". Does not work with a tower sitting below desk. Had to move tower onto desk. I'm guessing it was designed for use with laptop, but it was only non-wireless mouse Best Buy had. Cable length is only flaw. This cheap mouse is holding up strong to daily auto dealership sales associate abuse.

This is a good backup phone in case something happens to your main one. Surprising features that are included in this phone: mobile hotspot, visual voicemail, and wifi calling.
It may not be able to handle all of your apps (Candy Crush cannot run on it) but it should help tide you over until you replace your main phone.
The phone was unable to handle more than one available wifi channels. My home has two: an unrestricted one and a restricted one for the kids. When I set up both connections on the phone, the phone could not decided which one to connect to and ended up dropping my wifi connection altogether. I resolved the issue by deleting the second connection and now it works fine.
Don't expect too much from this phone especially at the price that you're getting it for and you won't be disappointed. You have two weeks to return it if you're not happy (do not peel off the plastic on the screen so you can return it).

I found this initially slow and glitchy myself. But after removing unwanted programs and updating the BIOS to 1.10 everything worked fine. Limit the amount of programs you have in the system tray and the startup services as well.

My Dell XPS M1530 finally stopped working and I needed a replacement laptop. Now you are thinking, I must be crazy to use this kind of laptop for gaming. But the graphics chip that's onboard is better then the Geforce 8400M GS that was on my previous laptop. In order to play games, you need to remove all the bloat on the laptop.
Here is what you will need for your laptop to game on it:
16GB Flash Drive (for creating the recovery drive)
1TB External USB 3.0 HDD
4 Port USB Hub
XBOX 360 Controller (Logitech F310 Gamepad Suggested)
1TB External USB 3.0 HDD
4 Port USB Hub
XBOX 360 Controller (Logitech F310 Gamepad Suggested)
Do NOT install games on the main hard drive, there is not enough space, always install to the external drive.
Additionally you will want to disable Fast Shutdown and Fast Boot, turn off system protection and disable Windows Update. That will speed things up considerably. Don't remove the HP apps or you will not be able to create a recovery drive. You can't burn DVD media anymore.
Performance Wise: I played some older games on Steam that had 3D Graphics and they ran reasonably well if you turn down the detail level in some games. You won't be able to play GTA V so don't try it.
You can't upgrade the HDD, You can't upgrade the ram. You have to install larger programs to the external HD.
Overall a great bargain for $199. Trend Micro and 1 year of Office was a bonus.

Not every game will run on it as I said in my review. Most games will run. If you find your game will go slow, you should reduce the detail. If you don't have a good enough frame rate the game might not be meant for that graphics chip. Every person who attempts to game on it should seek out the forum of the game that they are playing and ask around. My review was based solely on experience and did not test every game out.

This is a gift for my little brother I would have exchanged the dual core 1.3ghz processor for a 1.2ghz dual core and 1 gb of ram the touch screen is resistive with 2 finger tough that sucks and the BIGGEST PROBLEM IS NO AUTO SCREEN ROTATION I WONDER THERE IS EVEN A ACCELEROMETER!!!

The Alcatel One Touch Pixi Glitz also suffers from the same issue. There is no accelerometer and no screen rotation. Some apps will detect this and display the games in the right format but others that will depend on that feature will crash the phone. Not a big deal to me since the only apps I use are radio streaming apps and some games that are not dependent on that feature.

After trying different phones, etc, I have finally found the perfect phone that did not cost too much money. This phone has 2GB internal memory and after you update all the apps you are left with about 1.1gb of memory to store apps. You can also move various apps to the SD Card and have more storage. It even has a built in FM Radio which the box does not list. You have to have a headphone set plugged in to listen to it.
Speed wise and performance wise, it has a great battery life and is very responsive on all fronts when using apps like Angry Birds and Hit it Rich Slots. Battery life is pretty impressive.
The few drawbacks to this phone is that the My Account App never displays the right balance, and to check your balance you have to dial in a code to your phone to check it. Kind of a setback. But once I restarted the phone it worked correctly. Just a hit and miss.
But for the price I paid this is a pretty awesome phone. And it was on sale the day after I bought it, so Best Buy easily applied the price match to my order to get the sale price. Enjoy this phone. I am enjoying it too.

Technically, you only need to activate it if you want to use it with a cell phone plan. The lowest plan you can subscribe to is $9.99 a month and you get 150 minutes, 150 texts and 150mb of data that rolls over from month to month if you have any left over at the end of the month.
If you plan on using it over wifi only, say to use apps or games, you don't have to activate it and it would make a killer iPod Touch alternative. You don't need an active cell plan to dial 911 either.

The beauty of this phone is that you can you can add data cards without having minutes on your phone. Not sure how much data your kid would use on the go but you can get that. And you can also add a text only card. They are $10 for 1000 text messages. A pretty good deal if you ask me.

This phone does require a service plan or a phone cards. If you're wondering how to add them, you can call their customer service department to add the card, go online or download the My Tracfone App and it has a built in mechanism that you can add a card there.

Can you get live sports like Jays and Leafs? I heard you can purchase basic tv package with it?
There are major premium networks you can subscribe to like NHL Center Ice through the official app. You will need to sign up for NHL.com and a Center Ice package in order to stream hockey games on your TV. This is subject to blackout rules just like the television games played online.

Does the Roku Express Steaming media player get 5G? I currently have Roku 2XS and it will not pick up my 5G signal (and therefore will not play my STARZ channel). I need a Roku that can access 5G wifi.
I'm not sure why you would need a 5ghz band to stream HD content for Starz. I had used the app Fandango now to stream Moana in HD and I was connected to the 2.4ghz band the whole time without lag. If you're finding constant dropouts while using the 2.4 ghz band consider changing the radio channel for your router to see if that helps.

You can. I did and it works 100% no incompatibility issues.

There is one way but you must sign up for the carriers online delivery account and waive your rights against the shipper to leave the item without a signature. This can be very dangerous so I would suggest that you find a friend that lives in that area and have it delivered to them.
Also if you live an an international area and not in the USA, the phone is not guaranteed to work in an international locale.

A Verizon postpaid SIM is inside the box but I activated my device on Tracfone using their own SIM. The device is not carrier locked.

You have 14 days to return a device regardless of your My Best Buy status. If you return you're responsible for notifying the carrier of your return and cancelling any applicable service or you may be slapped with penalties.
