Great for Games, Awesome for Everyday Use

Like many people I imagine, I've transitioned to working from home since March and was using an older 23" monitor which was 1080P / 60Hz.
This Dell 27" QHD monitor is a huge upgrade for my PC. I didn't realize what a different a new monitor could do for productivity. The Dell monitor comes with an HDMI and DisplayPort cable, as well as a USB cable that can be used to expand the number of USB ports on your machine.
Installation was a snap. Simply disconnected my old monitor, cables, etc. and plugged in the new monitor and included DisplayPort cable. My Dell PC recognized the monitor immediately and configured it for 2K, 165Hz.
I already had a dedicated NVidia graphics card, so the last step I needed to do was turn on G-Sync to take advantage of the variable refresh rate capability.
The colors on this monitor are vivid compared to my old monitor, and I'd even say that there is a slight red push on my colors compared to my old monitor, but it's was easily adjustable via my Nvidia control panel to get it the way I wanted it.
Overall, working in 2K and gaming occasionally is great with smooth framerates. The variable refresh rate virtually eliminates stutter on occasional frame rate drops, and it's a pleasure to use this for work too.
The aesthetics on the monitor are great, though the monitor has a bit of a bezel so if you want a "borderless" monitor, you might want to see this in person first. It also has a blue LED light glowing in the rear, which looks pretty cool in the dark.
All in all, this is a great monitor if you have a PC and dedicated video card that can take advantage of the 165Hz refresh rate and variable G-Sync or FreeSync capabilities!

BlueParrott's best selling headset just got better. The new BlueParrott B450-XT is the latest wireless bluetooth trucking headset designed to help you while on the go. It's been redesigned to be a lot more comfortable with a more cushioned ear cup and more padded headband. It still maintains 96% noise cancellation so the other person(s) you are communicating with can hear you crystal clear regardless of the noise surrounding you. You can talk on the headset up to 24 hours before you need to recharge the device. Charging is now a breeze using the included USB-C cable. You now have the capability to roam up to 300 feet when connected wirelessly to a class 1 device such as a smart phone. You also get additional features such as voice control to answer and reject calls using just your voice and you get a customizable BlueParrott button that can be programmed to quickly mute a conversation, speed dial a number, and more. Also, the headset is now built to last with an IP54 rating meaning it's dust and water resistant. Lastly, the headset software is updateable meaning you can plug it directly to a computer or pair it with smartphone running the BlueParrott updater program and you will be able to update the firmware on the headset. This way, it will always maintain it's great performance regardless over time.

Quality Headset with Great Features

I've been using this headset for over a week now and I can definitely say the audio quality is fantastic. I've been working from home since March, with everything going on in the world, so my working day has pretty much transitioned 100% to video conference calls and audio calls with colleagues from around the world.
The BlueParrott B450-XT is great for conference calls, as I find the headset comfortable to wear and it has great battery life. I can easily get through about 2-3 days straight of meetings and not need to charge the headset.
I currently use the headset to connect to my PC and to my IOS device. The BlueParrott button is configurable as to what function you want it to play. I currently use it to switch between my PC and phone so I can make/receive calls on each device easier. You can also use the button to mute your microphone, enable voice commands, etc.
This is definitely a good headset for those that need to be on a headset often and want great audio quality and flexible features on their device.

Excellent Laptop for Business Use / Casual Gaming
on June 7, 2020

I'm using this laptop as a primary replacement for an older laptop was used primarily for work. I was looking for something with a powerful processor, 8GB + ram and an SSD. This Samsung delivers.
Key things I like on this laptop:
- 10th Gen Intel processor is great for multi-tasking and having numerous programs / windows open at once.
- 12 GB Ram again really helps with multi-tasking, browsing the web, using office applications, etc.
- Battery Life: I can go almost all day using the laptop without it having to be charged.
- Light: this laptop is a little over 2lbs, and feels really light, making travel a breeze.
Things to note: I wouldn't recommend this laptop for someone who does heavy gaming. The integrated Intel graphics works fine for casual gaming, but don't expect it to deliver performance that rivals laptops or desktops that have a dedicated GPU. It's not meant for that audience, so I'm not deducting any stars from my review for it.
Yes, this folds into a tablet and can be used that way, but I have no intention to really use it as that and is not a focus of my review. I'm just mentioning it as something it can do, but note that the stylus is not included and is an extra purchase.
Overall this is a great machine and I've happily transitioned all of my daily tasks to using this as my primary device.

Another Great Speaker from SONOS
on October 16, 2019
Posted by: VideoJunkie

The Sonos Move is truly a Sonos speaker. And by that I mean that it produces the rich sound that you expect from a Sonos speaker. I have multiple Play 1's, a Play 3, and a PlayBar in my house, but all of them lacked one key feature... bluetooth.
The Sonos Move for me is a great speaker to take outside on the patio when you have a party. It's great to finally have a true Sonos speaker that is made to withstand outdoor elements, though I don't expect to leave it outside in the rain.
The battery on this is rated at about 10 hours. It lasted long enough for me while we hosted a party over the weekend. It was great to not have to run an extension cord.
The sound is great and the Sonos comes with TruePlay. Now for the Move, when activated, it is intended to help the speaker auto tune over time. I haven't noticed a difference in the short time I've used the speaker, but I can say TruePlay has worked on my other Sonos speakers.
The one slight drawback I see with this speaker is it's portability, or lack of portability. The move comes with a built in handle to make it easy to carry around, but at its size and weight (about 6lbs), this isn't a speaker to throw into a suitcase or one to put in a backpack for light travel. I just don't think it's meant to be that kind of portable. So, if you are looking for that, you might want to consider an alternative.
However, if you want great sound, the ability to connect via Bluetooth, be able to use it indoors and outdoors, and be able to use your voice (I use Alexa) to control your music choices, the Sonos Move is another great speaker from Sonos.

Great Posture Trainer

I work in an office job and unfortunately spend more time than I'd like sitting in meetings and behind a desk. Over the last nine months, my lower back started to ache (not terribly, but enough to be uncomfortable), and I thought maybe this could help.
The device comes in a case that is easy to carry around. It would have been great if the case could have held the USB charging cable too, as opposed to just the device, but that is a small complaint.
The device is only maybe 2 in tall and comes with an adhesive that allows you to stick the device to your back. Download the app, turn it on, pair it with your phone, and you are all set.
I've used it for a few days now and like the fact that it is simple to calibrate. Sit in an upright position and calibrate it. From there, it will sense when you start to slouch and vibrate if you have it on training mode. Use tracking mode for allow it to track / report your position through the rest of the day. The app gives you feedback on how you are doing.
It seems to work pretty well. My posture seems better (or at least I'm more aware of when I am slouching, and can correct it quicker). Hopefully this will help alleviate some of my back pain over time. I would definitely recommend it for someone that is in an office job like me that feels like they could have better posture and avoid slouching.

Excellent High Capacity Hard Drive
on August 21, 2019

I currently have a desktop computer that serves as our primary computer for the family in the office. The WD 4TB Passport is great for backing up photos, documents, etc. I am currently using it to take weekly backups of my photos and home videos from an internal drive, and also backing up my SSD that is my primary drive. It gives me peace of mind to have this backed up regularly.
This drive is portable in the sense that you can easily detach it and plug it into another laptop, desktop, etc. It's small enough to fit in a laptop bag or a pocket for that matter, and the fact that it does not require an external power source is great. That being said, I don't think I'd normally carry this thing around in a bag or put it in situations where it could be bumped, etc. It's a mechanical drive and these things can get damaged.
It's also backed with a 3Yr warranty which is important and gives me the peace of mind that it should last.

High Capacity and High Quality
on July 4, 2019

The Epson EcoTank 3760 meets all of my checkboxes for what I needed in an all-in-one. I was looking for a printer that had a large capacity of ink, so that I wouldn't need to be refilling constantly. Check. This one has capacity to last almost two years! I can't claim the accuracy of that after only a few weeks of use, but I can say the tanks and refill bottles are much larger than the one in my previous printer.
The quality of the printing is great for documents, photos, etc. I tested it with plain paper and photo paper and printed out numerous vacation photos and the quality was great in both situations.
The printer also comes with a 30 page document feeder, which is convenient for making photo copies or scanning.
Note that this model does not have fax. Epson has another model in their lineup that has the fax capability, if needed. For me, I did not need it.
Overall, I am extremely satisfied with this printer so far. It was easy to setup, but it did take about 30 min because you needed to fill the ink cartridges and then calibrate the print heads, and then connect it to your wireless network. Software install was easy and without incident.
Overall, this appears to be a great printer. Hopefully I will save some money in the long run by needing to purchase ink much less frequently!

Great Accessory, with some Caveats
on May 3, 2019
Posted by: VideoJunkie
from Ambler
This is a difficult review for me to write, as there are some aspects about the Anker Roav Bolt that I really like and others that are still buggy (and I don't know if that is the fault of the device or Google Assistant app, which is still in Beta as of this review, on IOS).
Here's my setup... a 2015 Ford Fusion, an iPhone X with Google Assistant app installed, and the Anker Roav Bolt.
What I like: the far field mics on the device seem to work great. Even with music on in the car, the device was able to detect "Hey Google"... with no issues. It also charges the phone, like it should.
The Bolt can connect via Bluetooth or via Aux connection. My car only had Bluetooth, so I couldn't test the Aux connection, though the manufacturer says Aux is more responsive (faster). Bluetooth didn't seem too slow for me, but then again, I couldn't test with Aux to compare.
When it worked, meaning the Google Assistant actually did what I asked the first time... "Tell me the News..." or "Tell me my messages", it was great.
What I had challenges with... and this is not necessarily the Bolt's fault... the Google Assistant on IOS is still a bit buggy (in Beta). One example... I wanted to play a local radio station... the bolt understood correctly what I wanted, but Google Assistant kept telling me to install Radio.com app... which was already installed. Uninstalling and reinstalling the Radio.com or Google Assistant did not fix anything.
I also had some challenges initially setting up the device on my iPhone X. I followed the directions, paired it with my phone, but had to do it multiple times before the Google Assistant recognized it. When it finally did, the Google Assistant couldn't connect to my car bluetooth, but it was already connected. It just wasn't detecting that. A full reboot of the phone fixed that eventually.
My only other observation is, unsurprisingly, it locks you into the Google eco system a bit... which is great probably for Android users. I, however, subscribe to Amazon Music, and the Google Assistant doesn't work with it, so asking to play music on the Bolt can't launch Amazon music. And if I start to play Amazon Music through the App over bluetooth, when I then say "Hey Google", the music volume isn't lowered automatically (probably because it can't control the Amazon music app), and I can't hear what the Google Assistant says when I ask it to launch the next command.
Overall, I rate this 3 stars, as the device itself is pretty good, but at least when paired with the Google Assistant through an iPhone, it's a bit frustrating. And it's difficult to separate the functionality of the device without the taking into account the digital assistant it's paired with, since the device would only be good to charge the phone... and that works well.
Would I recommend this: I'd say not yet, but it has promise. And read the reviews. People who have Android phones may have a better experience. I'm going to continue using it since I really like the Google Assistant in general, more so than the others. It seems to be the most accurate and helpful, though not without some of the limitations I've discussed.

Great Wireless Charger

So for some background, in my family, we have an iPhone X, an XR, and an iPhone 8. I tested this device with all three and it worked great. All three devices had different cases on them and had no problems charging. My daughters' iPhone 8 even has a popsocket on the back of the case, and the charger was still able to charge the phone without having to remove the case and popsocket. It handled our devices with no issue.

Simply Easy to Use

I am a Simplisafe customer and have been for 4+ years. This doorbell is a perfect complement to my setup. Setup took me about 15 minutes to install. It took longer for me to figure out which breaker controlled the doorbell than it did to actually replace my old one.
Once installed, turn on the power at the breaker, download the app to your phone (if you don't already have it). Super simple to setup and now I have a Live view of my front porch in 1080P HD.
Video quality is great and night vision seems to work well, though I haven't really had a need to test that out too heavily. I have it mounted on the wood trim around my doorway. It's a bit larger than my old doorbell, but it still fits in nicely on the trim.
Overall, I would highly recommend this!
